  1. I like the rigging and sails. What material are the sails made out of? Is it a canvas or felt? I got my kids those baseplates with the islands printed on them - they are pretty fun! @Edmund Babbington I've found photography tutorials like this ( https://www.itsalwaysautumn.com/get-better-photos-seamless-paper-background.html ) pretty handy in understanding the "infinity curve" method of bending a piece of paper behind the MOC. That way there is a seamless monotone background and people can focus on the subject.
  2. Agreed! When I first saw the crater on Flickr without the benefit of the accompanying story, I thought it was a really cool rotting tree stump technique
  3. Martello Tower, medium fort, Corrington (via Ayrlego)
  4. I don't see this in the description agreed to above @Bregir (separate settlements vs. one split by a wall) Will do! UPDATE: Added in the little island. Do a hard refresh to pull in a new copy of the map UPDATE 2: Broke Sillitholina into two distinct towns on different sides of River Sil. I will leave it up to court whether North Sillitholina needs a separate connection to the center road! @Capt Wolf @Bregir
  5. The treaty that brought peace to Terraversa means the Terraversan-controlled regions of the island now fall into two nations: Grand Duchy of Terraversa and Commonwealth of Terraversa Captain Brickleton has finalized a new version of the map and sent it out to interested parties:
  6. Upon receipt of a written invitation to join ETTC, Captain Brickleton calls upon the good Colonel in person in Westface to thank him for the gracious offer to join such a venerable enterprise and to accept the conditions as stipulated in the contract. Let's see the East Terran Trading Company expand to all corners of the Brick Seas! ::dabs quill into ink and signs the document with a flourishing motion, accentuating the 'B':: Lord Spud and Major Brickford, also in Westface with the Corlander expeditionary force, consider their responses @Ayrlego @Bregir @LM71Blackbird @Spud The Viking
  7. The third and fourth pictures really capture the mood - I love the explosion technique in picture 3 and in picture 4 you can feel the concern of the troops for their commander. Nice work I spotted a little trans red in the first pic, and obviously in the last pic too. Last year I picked up this trans red "spill/splat" for scenes like these but haven't had a chance to use it well yet: https://brickforge.com/products/spill-splat
  8. Love the flying bird! Nice rock and water effects Are you suggesting that post-war Terraversa is lawless and smuggling is rampant?
  9. Thanks! I was unsure if I should post it up after I took the picture - glad someone got a kick out of it Do you think the pirates got away?
  10. I hope the time comes for the Ténotclaxcans someday!
  11. Those troops are literally 'raising' Impressively tall wall to scale!
  12. Thanks @Mister Phes! I got a new title of "Duplo Pirate Castle" too, eh?
  13. Haha Duplo are the default in my household - I have three kids 6 yo and younger I think the pig was mine when I was a kid - it's the kind they stopped making in 1993. My sister recently unloaded all our childhood Duplo on me because her kids have "outgrown it" (they should have started making Pirate MOCs with it apparently) The 2021 version of the pig is pretty cartoony: I like to think of the Ayrlego-style base as a simplified SNOT edge base from the school of Isaac! (BTW Thanks for your blog @soccerkid6! I've been reading it for years.) I like that the simplified Ayrlego style is two studs high on the edge thanks to the 5-plate high thickness. That's what I was pseudo-going for in the Duplo MOC Getting back to Duplo for a second, something I've discovered is that if you do sideways Duplo apparently 8 sideways Duplo bricks is the same length as 10 studs, meaning 4 sideways Duplo plates is roughly 2 studs. Pic: Haha. While I was making this MOC, he was working on this way-cooler Duplo scene with Redcoats teaming up with Knights to fight Skeletons and Pirates. He made the redcoats have a campfire because of the MOC I was making. I have some more sheep! And lavender Duplos... maybe it's time for a Wullham Duplo build
  14. I really like the mine opening - nice work with the multiple layers of slopes!
  15. Nice little island hopper! I wouldn't want to be at sea for weeks in this ship, but seems like a nimble way to navigate shorter voyages across the Brick Seas!
  16. Chef Patoget hadn't gone to culinary school, but he had directed his share of pig roasts. After losing his left eye to splattering hot oil in the galley of the Renegade Runner, the chef no longer had great depth perception. As a result, he relied on cabin boys to do the menial tasks in his kitchen. If they were promising, he would call them his sous-chef - they seemed to get a kick out of the title. They had been at sea for a month but had rowed ashore on Pig Island earlier in the day. The sound of the small waterfall beside them created a pleasant drone that the lapping of the waves played above. Pagonet smiled. The crew would feast on pork tonight! -------------------------- Was playing Duplo with my 4YO today and decided to try out some SNOT base techniques I use with system bricks. The second tier is a pseudo-@Ayrlego base, though the Duplo plates are just resting on their side.
  17. So many flags! Looks super festive. Nice work! Glad they are glad there is peace (and not sad to have lost Kings Port). Good outcome
  18. Looks great! The first scene choosing colors reminds me of when I had choose stone panel colors in our new shower just prior to COVID I really like the modified clip plates as decoration around the top of the wall Really fun to see purple on the ship!
  19. This looks great @NOD! I really like the bright green / green grass. The kid setting the bush on fire is hilarious
  20. Marvin the Martian's legs look short... and red with white detailing! They might make good drummer boy legs Speedy's torso would be good for a sailor Wiley Coyote's feet and tail might be nice as parts of a MOC tree Bet there are some fun uses for Taz's circle baseplate too... a whirlpool hazard? Porky's torso could be for an Oleon gov who was roused from bed quickly after hearing a noise... (had time for a bowtie) Yeah those could be perfect for some post-treaty COT units @Bregir
  21. Nice build, Brickwolf - lots of stone! Good to see them looking each other in the eye Did you print that Corrington flag on a paper printer? It looks substantial (and good!) I wonder if you could order a deck of personalized playing cards with the flag logo on the back to get a similar glossy effect (x52)
  22. Thanks! Thanks! And thanks to @Professor Thaum for proofreading and correcting my French! Way better than Google Translate
  23. Glad Brickleton reached Allcock in time! Also glad to see he made himself presentable with his bicorn before getting to Allcock Fun use of the hovercraft piece as a base! Looks great. That’s quite a collection of BrickArms flintlocks! Those definitely are my limiting factor (you can see some TLG muskets at the back of the "Over The Hills..." build. I see Allcock went with the imperial admiral torso this time Does that drummer have a green torso?
  24. Corrington hereby calls off the attack on Aurelia and troops are returned to their points of origin @KotZ @Bodi @CapOnBOBS
