I've never been a fan of the in-universe vehicles (sans the hyena bomber), but you've designed these really well! I especially like the articulation on the trident and how you made the y-wing cockpit.

Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

It looks so good! Great use of that meme, exactly how I feel. I'll probably pick this up if it's still only $30, but then I also want the tower and some of the new star wars sets. Why does lego have to bring the stellar waves for all the themes at the same time? -

So am I! Completely out of nowhere, too! Do we know the price? Yeah, it's a bit disappointing that it's so similar. They aren't kashyyyk battle droids, they're tank drivers. It's from galaxy's edge, I guess? I've never been able to go, but it looks like a great model to me. I'm just worried it won't be available everywhere. (and as a fan of the books, I'm super glad Vi Moradi from the Phasma book has a minifigure.) I gotta agree with you on that last bit, "strange" is the best way to describe this wave. anakin's interceptor is just a slightly updated 2014 one as expected, I'll pass on this one. The tank set is great, I'll buy one since I don't have an AAT yet and those figures are amazing! There's no way grievous's starfighter is $80. I refuse to accept it. KoR ship is actually pretty good, I won't pick it up as I haven't been collecting the koR, but I still think it's pretty good. Final duel is completely unexpected, and so similar to the 2015 one :(. Disappointed, won't pick it up. The transport looks great, and came out of nowhere! I'm psyched to get Vi Moradi, and Super excited we're getting sets based off less well-known properties now. Overall a great wave IMO, the sequel sets are both great, as are the clone wars sets. Ironically the ROTS and ROTJ sets are the only two I'd say aren't that good, and two of those only because they're so close to previous versions. I know! Ahsoka, a 332nd, some more knights, etc. I'm thinking it'll be something exclusive to galaxy's edge, maybe? Bummer for me but makes sense from a marketing perspective. Kids who just rode inside the thing are gonna be more likely to buy the lego model. We also hadn't heard ANYTHING about this, which makes me thing it's exclusive somewhere. Never going to complain about surprise new sets! I hope so. And...VI MORADI!!!!!!! I researched this and she's in the park as someone you can interect with, like the people dressed as rey or kylo, but still, a character from the books has a lego minifigure! -

When I was a kid my parents gave up and just had me give them a list of set numbers . Don't be too hard on them, they're wanting to buy you gifts, after all. If there's one thing off with the calendar it's the lack of prequel figures. I know they're usually from sets released a few waves before the calendar, so it makes sense to see TROS rey, sith trooper, etc, but I doubt many people prefer another tatooine luke to the anakin from the duel or something. Maybe next year we'll get a 12/25th legion clone trooper as the exclusive figure, with red and green markings . i managed to get the 2014 ISD for a pretty good price on bricklink, but even then it was a used set with no figures, and I got lucky. I like the idea of long shelf lives for iconic stuff, but I also agree with the logistic problems you bring up. I think usually lego does a great job making the re-releases not too frequent, too. (though luke's landspeeder has gotten out of hand). -

I totally agree. It’s directives from Lucasfilm, for one thing, and like you say, it’s the iconic stuff they keep repeating. Personally, I only got into LEGO Star Wars after I saw TFA in late 2015, and I never have had a huge budget, so I’m immensely glad we got another normal falcon in 2019 (not white/blue or a different scale), and another OT tie fighter, and x-wing, etc. -
This would be pretty cool, though like you say the prospect of an order 66 themed set / wave seems a bit dark for LEGO. We do need a new venator though, and I’ll always be a fan of anything remotely connected to fallen order. Alright, next on my list is ROTS. It occurs to me that I missed mandalorian and resistance , so I’ll cycle back to all the shows after I do ANH. Microfighters: AT-OT $9.99: 327th trooper Tank droid $9.99: battle droid (the tank driver LEGO thinks is a kashyyyk droid) Boga versus wheel bike $19.99: Obi-wan and grevious battle packs: separatist droids $14.99: 4x b1, 2x B2. Build is a crab droid and a dwarf spider droid. Clone legions $14.99: 1x 501st trooper, 1x normal p2, 1x 212th trooper, 1x shock trooper. Build is a BARC and small turret. duel: senate duel $19.99: build is a senate pod and a bit of palpatines office, comes with yoda and The Senate himself. Smallish location set: Duel on the invisible hand $39.99: balcony with collapsing play feature, staircase and the area with palp’s chair at the bottom. Comes with anakin, obi-wan, the senate (grey robes) and dooku. This one might be a bit unrealistic considering dooku’s fate, but since we have duel on mustafar sets I’d say as long as there isn’t a “decapitate your former compatriot” play feature it should be fine. Other sets: Coruscating dogfight $39.99: v-wing and Tri-fighter, comes with a clone pilot, 2 b1s, and anakin the next 2 take a bit of inspiration from @ARC2149Nova Utapau battle $79.99: Build able boga, the wheel bike, a crab droid and a hanger build tall enough for the clones to rappel from. Comes with Obi-wan, grievous, 2 magnaguards, 2 b1s, a 212th, Cody, and a 212th airborne. kashyyyk battle $89.99: kashyyyk Tree build with wookie hut, is , Dwarf spider droid, and Ornitherapter. Comes with yoda, tarfull, 2 wookies, 2 41st siege battalion troopers, 2 b1s, and 2 B2s. Venator attack cruiser $139.99: Venator with interior space consisting of the bridge, artillery area, prison cell, and hanger with micro arc-170 and anakin’s fighter. Comes with 2 clone officers, 2 clone troopers, 2 501st troopers, obi-wan, anakin, a droidika, and grievous. UCS: UCS ARC-170 $349.99: comes with 2 clone pilots and Captain Jag.

Due to SHIELD budget cuts in the wake of the public finding out about project insight, the avengers had to make space to transport themselves in the prison cells. -

I doubt that. Rey, Kylo, and Finn are the three most prominent characters of the trilogy, there’s no way they’ll ever be rare as long as Lego Star Wars continues. There’s almost always been some variant of Luke, Han, Leia, Chewbacca, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Vader, Palpatine, Maul, etc in a non-retired set in recent years. (Or in a book, in maul’s case). There are some weird things, like the lack of padme, but there’s no way they’d act like an entire trilogy didn’t exist. -

Oh no, not the Ewok films! I think the same thing here. It’s important to remember, as I feel like I say every other day on this forum, Legos aren’t meant for us, they’re meant for kids. Kids who are likely to buy (or bug their parents to buy) a set based on the new film they just saw. Same. IMO the films themselves are overall better than the prequels, but including the clone wars show makes the prequels better than the sequels. Overall fan opinion could impact sets, but definitely not the play scale ones. For instance, the comparative lack of prequel UCS is probably due to the adult target audience of those sets, and the fact that most adults hate the prequels. Now the generation that were kids when they saw the prequels are adults, and prequel opinion has gone up, leading to them winning the poll. If the gunship sells well, we’ll certainly see more UCS. But for the average system set, LEGO doesn’t care that some adult fans found jar jar annoying, or Rey to be overpowered. -

Yup, meant may 2021 “Excuse me LEGO, I voted for the UCS gunship because I wanted a system scale gunship with every clone commander, 20 clone troopers from each legion, and clone wars anakin for $120.”. As for the second part, I think it’s possible they might be fast-tracking this one, as they must have with the baby yoda brickheadz and statue, but you’re probably right in that it won’t be finished in time for 2021. A UCS gunship is a great deal bigger than a brickheadz, anyway. You forget forces of destiny is canon! I’m still not sure what the point of that show was. point is LEGO isn’t going to stop making sets because some of us AFOLS don’t like the source material. Not many 6-12 year olds hate the sequels. -

As @HarryVader says, In the US they were the prices of the Star Wars battle packs, which also came with 4 figures and a small vehicle, at that time. Battle packs are still $15, so I don’t think the $10 set is going to have 4 figures. -

Yeah, I think the majority of people were expecting it to be bigger. I think this puts the set on track for a May 2020 release, unless I missed something. Hahaha I’m surprised you spent so much time to put into arguing that the ST has less screen time as part of an argument about a Star Wars LEGO set against some idiot on a forum. Sure, 18%, You’ve done the math! At the end of the day it’s still an entire trilogy and they’re not going to ignore it, and whether or not you personally like them isn’t going to impact whether or not they show up. (This also seems like a good time to peddle the “advent calendars are how LEGO gets rid of leftover figure stock” conspiracy, since all these figures showed up in 2019/2020 sets, besides the exclusive ones) Your mind clearly won’t be changed on the quality of the set on your opinion, and I won’t try. -

It's an ugly christmas sweater, and I don't know if it's just translation errors or something but a "plain city torso not yet released in city" doesn't make sense to me. It's an exclusive star wars mold. And the sequel trilogy is roughly 1/3 the franchise, is that better? 3 films and the resistance show, it just has less seasons than TCW and rebels. It's got a fair amount of content, and we've only had one prequel UCS so far, the vast majority of them are for the OT, so of course there's no sequel UCS. And the "significant fan base that doesn't care about ST sets" is probably not the target audience of lego sets, I haven't seen many 6-12 year olds hating on the sequel films. :) And to be perfectly honest, your set expectations are completely unrealistic. Santa chewie is the only SW figure you could make a case for fitting in an authentic SW environment though. Santa yoda, santa maul, santa fett, the previous santa vader, santa c-3po, and bb-8 and porg with christmas hats all don't fit in normal SW settings. Even then, Chewie's got his red and green bandolier. Personally I think this is a great calendar. The return of the exclusive christmas figure, 2 major new characters, one of whom may have an exclusive sweater too, as well as the sith trooper, stormtrooper, and obligatory battle droid, who are all great army builders. And the first official lucrehulk doesn't hurt either, even if it's just a microbuild at least they know the ship exists! -

YUP! I'm pretty happy, it's a major prequel ship, and especially since it's a separatist one and not trade federation. (not that that'd be a difficult thing to change at this scale, but I digress) Multiple leakers have said it's a new sweater print. @STARHAWK, don't get discouraged too soon: The Vader has an exclusive sweater print (maybe Poe too), so there is at least one interesting exclusive christmas minifigure I'd say Poe and Rey aren't that common, and there's nothing wrong with a battledroid for armybuilding. The minibuilds have been in these since the beginning, it's inevitable. The sequel trilogy thing is opinion, but I would say that lego can't ignore 1/3 the franchise. The OT stormtrooper helmet thing, yeah, I've got to agree with you there, not a fan of the new helmet design, although it is more likely. -
Very detailed interior, that looks great! I especially like how all the consoles are set up, and the power generator build.
-
Thanks! Although I wouldn't say my sets are better. And yeah, can't wait for that ROTS super wave. We really do need another hailfire, whether it's smaller or larger, as long as it doesn't use those clear dishes as wheels again.

I just swap the heads and hair and use them as mos eisley civilians, but yeah, it's disappointing it's not bespin luke. Yeah, he's definately not in his pilot or TROS outfit. Pit droid is nice too, since it counts as a build but works with figures. Poe's holding something weird, it looks to have translucent pieces to me. Rey is holding a lightsaber hilt in the image of the opened box, but no lightsaber blade at all as far as I can tell, so no hint there on whether it's a blue or yellow saber. There is also what I believe to be our first lucrehulk ship mini build above the falcon. -

Well, besides the name: Isn't this next one supposed to be rated R? The previous one is definitely much more adult than your standard superhero film, even if it was still pg-13. I think we'd most likely see something like what you mention at the end, and get suicide squad characters in batman sets. -
Neither can I, I’ve already pre-ordered it, it looks like such a great set! I was expecting something like your TPM list, and boy, I was not disappointed. That’s a heck of a lot of sets, and they all sound great! Standouts include Pentaki areana and the dropship, as well as your $30-50 large army builders! Or his lines where he rants about how the Galaxy needs a dictator! since @ArrowBricks just did attack of the clones, I was thinking about going to ROTS and looping back around in my lists, but his style is grander in scale, meant to be spread across waves, so I’ll do my 1-wave list I’ve been doing. microfighters: AT-TE $9.99: clone trooper hail fire droid $9.99: super battle droid Hardcell vs acclamator class assault ship $19.99: clone commander and Wat Tambor battle packs: geonosis clones ($14.99): small BARC and a bit of terrain, 2 p1 shinies, clone captain, clone lieutenant. Separatist forces $14.99: 2 winged geonosians, 2 B2s, 2 geonosis b1s. Build is one of those things the geonosians ride in the areana. A spear is included as well as 2 sonic guns with the overwatch gun as a base. duel kamino duel $19.99: Jango fett and obi-wan kenobi. Comes with a Kamino platform and some parts to replicate jango’s gadgets Smallish location set(s): (bending this one a bit to get a larger Pentaki) Pentaki areana $39.99: overlook and a brick built ackley with a pillar. Comes with Obi-wan, dooku, 2 B2s and mace windu Geonosis beasts ($49.99): anakin, padme, a geonosian , 2b1s, and Nute Gunrey. Comes with 2 pillars, the reek and nexu, and a bit of the stands. other sets: Hailfire droid $54.99: larger, more accurate hailfire with Pablo Jill, 2 clone troopers, a droidika and 2 b2s the Battle of Geonosis $79.99: geonosian cannon, clone command center, BARC, dwarf spider droid, and some terrain. Comes with 2 clone troopers, 2 b1s, clone captain, b1 commander, yoda, bultar swan, and 2 geonosians. AT-TE $99.99: at-te with 2 droidikas. Comes with 4 clone troopers, 2 at-te pilots, poggle, and 4 b1s. UCS: Republic gunship $399.99: larger gunship with a clone pilot, clone trooper, and Jedi bob.

Same. Makes it look more anime-like, which works pretty well considering the style of the short.

Yeah, that prince of Persia style for it would work great! Attack of the Clones is next for me, too, but as someone who only likes the last 10 minutes of the film it’ll be tough for me to make a wave . Certainly not one as big as your TPM wave.

*puts on tinfoil hat* Time to peddle my “we’ve never had a comic based General-release avengers set“ conspiracy! I don’t know what’s happening with those animated shows they made sets on, but I could see them using their very loose game-inspired thing for a bit if there aren’t any upcoming shows. I understand the logic and agree with you and LEGO here, I just meant that despite what they said they had delayed stuff before. Although I guess that was less so “due to the pandemic” and more so because minions completely overreacted in terms of how far they delayed the film. -
Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think you’re right and the eternals sets won’t be delayed, but I still find it weird that they say the pandemic won’t change their release schedule when it already did with that minions movie. Yes, it’s legos time to give us a mech that actually makes sense, instead of spider man mechs and thanos mechs. -
As @ARC2149Nova says, Star killer base really only had the splitting thing and random stuff to knock down. The speeder itself provides enough play value on its own, and adding a feature to knock the vaporator over would make it a set. You’re right that sets being released before doesn’t guarantee a rerelease (where’s my tie bomber ), I just meant that they’d done it before so it wasn’t out of the question. speaking of TPM though, I’ll do a wave for that, since I started with ESB and went through TROS, although it won’t be as good as the one you made and probably have some ideas from yours as well. Microfighters: Lucrehulk battleship ($9.99): Nute Gunrey (legs instead of skirt) republic cruiser ($9.99): Obi-Wan podracers ($19.99): anakin and sebulba’s pod racers with their respective figures battle packs: naboo forces ($14.99): 2 Naboo security guards, 2 gungans. Build is a brick-built kaadu and wheel thingie. trade federation ($14.99): 6 battle droids, 2 droidikas, and a STAP duel: tatooine duel (couldn’t resist, sorry!) $19.99: Qui-gon and Maul, mauls speeder and some terrain with a vaporator. $30 location set: naboo palace rescue ($29.99): From the scene where they rescue the queen in the first act. The queen, Qui-Gon, and 2 droids. Build is some of that naboo architecture with the balcony they swing down from. other sets: Vulture droid attack ($19.99): Correctly sized vulture droid with 2 battle droids and obi-wan sebulba’s podracer ($49.99): podracer with sebulba, 2 pit droids, wald, and Shmi The Duel of the Fates ($69.99): large duel area with the catwalks, ray shields, hole for maul to fall into, and some naboo hallways on the sides. Comes with maul, Obi-wan, Qui-gon, padme (purple outfit), panaka, 2 b1s. Trade federation landing craft ($179.99) massive landing craft with a platoon transport, some crates, and 2 STAPS inside, as well as an opening ramp. Comes with 2 B1 pilots, 24 battle droids, Qui-gon, and Jar Jar UCS: MTT ($399.99) massive MTT, although there is some more focus on display it still has the iconic droid rack. Comes with 20 battle droids to go on the rack and Nute Gunrey and his second in command as minifigures.
