Super Mario 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to MandyNeko's topic in LEGO Licensed
A thomas train when I was 4, if you can believe that. Scared the heck out of me. Have all the mario sets been revealed so far? I know there was the $4 set, is that the polybag with the mushroom? -

Lego's been doing exclusive figures for all their console games for awhile, so I hope they do continue that for this one, but as @BigGuy4U says no rumors yet. -

@Ghostcat looks great! Between the caution stuff already at the back and how you built the stand for the motor, it almost looks like it could have come in the official set! -
Official UCS set versions of popular MOCs?
Mandalorianknight replied to Naixin's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I really doubt we'd see star wars mocs become sets. I think if they were open to that they wouldn't make it so you can't submit ideas projects for star wars. Although there was something pretty close, back when the UCS lambda came out, I believe the designer said he used bits of his friend's MOC. (with permission, of course) -

I think the most traumatizing scenario is that he defects and starts making noises in the middle of the night. -

I think this wave's pretty good too, though like you said it isn't the best playset-wise, seeing as the final duel is basically the same as the 2015 one. I wonder how big of an interior the resistance transport will have. It looks to me like the 12 by 4 stud panels on each side of the middle section are attached with clips to the exterior, which would give a fair amount of space for something of this size if they open up. -

Not only is it removable, it's some sort of flying vehicle!. It should look somewhat better without it. -

they look like the grenade parts from the mechanical parts pack that showed up in the batman sets last year. If not security cameras, I'd say alarms or lights of some sort, since I doubt the avengers are hanging grenades on the ceiling. -

Yeah, the interior is great and the video game room is hilarious. I think it's especially funny that iron man is playing as captain america. I agree that this is 100% the best marvel set this year. -
@V-2929 those figures look awesome. The snowtrooper arms look really good with the prototype torso. I've got a small mandalorian army here, I tried to get different clans using the recent battlepack and the death watch and mauldalorians. Here you can see my red mandalorian clan, composed of 9 mandalorians. There are some christmasy elements on the torso, but I think it looks fine unless you look to closely at it. I found what appear to be legitimate test molds for the medium length blaster, as they look identical and have the lego logo. You can also see the smaller orange and green clans, each composed of 3 mandos. I tried to make a purple mandalorian using the azure helmet from the battlepack, but it doesn't look that good. The blue mandalorian clan is a mirror of the red one, except I need to bricklink a better torso for the commander. You can also see the smaller clans for the grey/orange mandalorians and the azure mandalorians. I had a few parts left over and made two clanless bounty hunter type mandalorians. A few more customs. L-R are Ezra from the later seasons of rebels, Kallus from season 4 of rebels, "rebel friend" from the old lego videogames, a rex I made because I didn't want to shell out $50 for him, and the clone wars maul using the ultron legs.

None of the other figures have clone wars style printing, and they stopped using that style after the 2014 sets, so I'd assume angry clone. It would be nice if they actually made an accurate clone head, or just a black head for the body glove, though. I can't see anything, but the image is so low-quality I guess there could be something there. -

it's the infinity stone type pin-hole connection, right? You could probably use it on knight helmets and hair that has the accesory hole. -

Oh yeah. It's still not a new design though, it's the same as the one that came in the shuttle and battle pack. My shaak Ti montral piece is in such a bad condition that the blue stripes are completely gone from the top horns. I need all of these. Realistically I think based on what battlefront 2 got we could see a battlepack sized set with Cal, Second sister, and 2 purge troopers, but that's going a bit into wishlisting -

I get that, although I think at some point they do need to progress. Like the old clone helmets with the cutout for the visor and black head underneath was updated with a printed visor for the 2013-2014 sets. That said, I hate the new stormtrooper helmet mold. What? Sith trooper isn't in any sets this wave. -

I get that, the white hip parts are a bit jarring to me too. Like the AAT, it's technically more accurate, but feels a bit off. That's the other one I agree with. Not so much against the designs themselves, but that if they keep changing them there won't be a consistent army. Some random 7 y/o: "but mooooooom, that was Anakin's Delta-7 starfighter! This is his Eta-2!" . From what I've seen, it's like you said, a lack of color contrast, and then also the worry that lego's going to keep changing the design and we won't get a consistant design across legions. -

Ninja'd by @ArrowBricks while typing, but I agree with him, It looks to me like one of those things where it's more accurate, but different to the previous model people are used to. The 2009 AAT was bigger, so even though it's less accurate people remember the bigger AAT and think it's better. I'll be getting one, maybe two if that ahsoka figure is expensive enough on bricklink for me to sell one to partially offset the cost. My wallet hurts just thinking about this wave. AT-AT, Razor Crest, Interesting-looking resistance transport, and of course I'll need millions of 501st battle packs . Adding another on-topic question, some people have had some serious criticism of the new clone designs. I personally think they look more detailed, but alot of people prefer the 2014 versions. So what do you guys see in the 2014 designs? -

Somehow this has devolved into an argument about the popularity of the clone wars sets in general, where some people are insulting people instead of arguing the point? First off, that guy's being pretty rude, no idea why he decided to attack you personally. I agree that the clone battle pack sold pretty well. I was pretty young when the clone wars sets came out, but I do remember liking the clone battle pack. (I swapped the commander's arms for blue ones and he became rex ) I do remember that I disliked the style of eyes for the normal characters, although the clone torso/helmet design didn't bother me as much. Looking back, I still think they're nightmare fuel, but they did end up changing that for the newer ones. I can't speak for many of the others, but I remember the assassin droid battle pack and some larger ones were always there, and I could never find the AAT on shelves. Although I wouldn't use the fact that we're getting two clone wars sets now as evidence of the success of the 2008-2014 sets. It's been 6 years and the kids who grew up on clone wars when they were young kids (like me) are old enough to buy more stuff now. Which I think is a pretty good indication of SW in general. HelloGreedo has a great video on how when clone wars first came out, it was HATED by fans. Most fans on forums had the same opinion of ahsoka that people now have of rey. Of course, it's now a fan-favorite show, and ahsoka's one of the most beloved characters in the canon. Rebels had a similar thing, and I have no doubt that in a few years opinion of the sequels will increase as the kids who were 5-10 when TFA came out grow up. There's a trend of people loving the star wars they grow up on and hating what comes next. Right now, the prequel kids are adults, which will probably lead to an increased number of prequel UCS sets. I think the best thing for lego to do is keep the balance between the eras, and I think we're starting to see it with the uptick in prequel sets. That said, I wouldn't expect multiple clone battlepacks, a venator, at-te, laat, and at-ot with dropship to all come out over the course of a year or two, I doubt that would sell well. A 332nd battlepack won't sell as well if it comes right after a 501st. @KZB I think it comes out in september, and keep in mind they couldn't have started it until the mandalorian show started airing because baby yoda was kept secret. -
Glad to see you finished the show! All these sets sound great, although I'm definitely biased, rebels is one of my favorite tv shows. Right, so looks like we're doing 2021 predictions again. Basing amount/type of sets on what we got last year: Razor Crest microfighter ($9.99) : the mandalorian (not a new variant). (Cynically, this functions as a "buy the mandalorian figure for $10" set) Outland TIE microfighter ($9.99) : Moff Gideon Purge troopers battle pack ($14.99): Kal (with buildable or molded bd-1), second sister, purge trooper, purge trooper commander. Build is an oversized speeder Resistance troops battle pack ($14.99): 3 different resistance troopers and an alien officer. Build is a bunker-type thing with a turret Boga vs wheel bike microfighters ($19.99): Obi-wan and Grievous Duel on bespin ($19.99): Vader and bespin luke, the build is the "No, I am your father" scene. Speeder Bikes ($29.99): 2 brick-built speeder bikes and a tree with some play feature or something. Comes with 2 biker scouts and Luke. Endor Bunker attack ($39.99): Small endor bunker with Leia, a stormtrooper, an imperial officer, and a rebel commando. AT-ST (4+) ($34.99): <insert that tiresome argument> AT-ST with chewbacca, an ewok, and an AT-ST pilot. Resistance B-wing ($79.99): B-wing with stand. Comes with Aftab Ackbar, General Leia, Poe, and a sith jet trooper. ARC-170 Starfighter ($89.99): Comes with 2 clone pilots, kit Fisto, and an astromech as well as a buildible droidika. Tried to be realistic, and though I just skimmed throught the other lists I just realized this has 3 sets in common with @ARC2149Nova

If it's a $70-80ish set like you speculated, maybe they chose the boxart to make it look bigger than it is. I 100% agree. We're getting multiple CW sets, including a 501st battle pack. A literal 501st battle pack, the one set that fans have (it could be said to an annoying extent) campaigned for. We also got two other prequel sets, meaning prequel era sets take up the same amount of spots for the august wave as the OT and ST era sets combined. I also agree with that bit at the end about how it's not a certain strategy of legos people are upset with, just that it's not the vehicles they wanted. I think he was referring to the soulless one. -

Yeah, the cockpit made me think of something like the pelta, but looking at it it's not as big as that set. I could see $70-80, maybe? I still can't get a good idea of the size. Same, it's a new design for the resistance, and looks great. When I first saw the final duel while looking at this I also thought it was just the 2015 set, as people post random stuff on the legoleaks hashtag so often. Seriously? Aside from the fact that lego doesn't decide not to make sets because of someone's personal opinion, we have no indication that Final Duel was hastily put together. -

That's really cool that your kids got to experience that (especially that you were able to bypass a line, I've heard they have insane wait times). I'm thinking it'll probably be around $110-120. I've got a similar opinion on most of these. I hadn't thought about that idea of an exogol instead of final duel, but it would have made so much more sense and probably sold better. AND I KNOW, WE GOT VI MORADI!!!! FINALLY a figure based on canon other than the shows and movies! And VI MORADI, no less! Maybe, maybe not. They change the boxart every year or so, and from TFA-TROS it's been something based on the film of that year. There's no 2020 star wars movie, so they might just have used TCW because it was the biggest piece of new content this year. (IMO siege of mandalore is basically a movie and the best prequel film, but that's just me) -

It's been less than a year since galaxy's edge opened. I highly doubt disney is some malignant entity forcing them to produce this set because ticket sales weren't enough. The logic being: It takes longer than you're suggesting it would for a set this big to be produced. It's highly unlikely this started production after the opening of the park, much less by the time they saw their profits were lower than expected. If they're trying to boost ticket sales, a single expensive tie-in lego set isn't something that makes much sense in that regard. People have said this might only be sold at the parks, which would reduce the logic of that even further. We have 3 sets coming for mandalorian, hardly "no new sets". Razor crest, Buildable Baby Yoda, and brickheadz. 3 different forms of baby yoda to choose from. And the Chinese knockoff companies already have baby yoda because they rush out low quality products imitating lego. -

I'm hoping that too. Like a retailer exclusive, except for disney parks. They probably wouldn't make to much by stocking all the targets and walmarts, but I'm hoping we can at least order them online from lego. If you bricklink the parts, you can get him for like $15 from about 2 sellers, besides the pauldron, which is rare. Still sad we didn't get one, but if you do that you can get a pretty good one for 1/5 the cost. Reading this makes my wallet cry, I forgot about the razor crest and AT-AT. agh, I might have to pass on the IT-S! Doesn't look to have any exclusive parts besides the figures, so I might just bricklink Vi Moradi. What?
