  1. Out of curiosity, are you aware of all rebels sets released? Because (and this is only a spoiler if you haven't seen the released sets) along with the cast reflecting their season 3-4 appearances, since most people agree the later seasons are better (me included). Glad to hear you're starting to watch rebels, just know that it gets progressivly better over the course of the series, from somewhat bad, to good, to clone-wars level by the end.
  2. Now that I can get behind. It'd certainly be better than the junk builds they usually put out for battle packs. The T2-b actually looks pretty cool, I'm gonna try to MOC it. And sets in the style of the 501st set would be great! In an attempt to come up with some more for that style of set: Clone legions: Tx-130 tank (canon) with 2 p2 shinies, a p2 212th trooper, and a shock trooper, as well as 2 b1s. ($29.99) Separatist forces: Snail tank and dwarf spider droid with 4 b1s, 2b2s, a p2 shiny and a 212th trooper. ($29.99) Rebel legion: MLC-3 and P-tower with 2 endor rebels, 1 scarif rebel and 1 fleet trooper, as well as 2 stormtroopers. ($29.99) First order troopers: Treadspeeder, turbolaser turret, 2 first order stormtroopers, first order megablaster heavy trooper, first order jet trooper, and 2 resistance troopers. ($29.99)
  3. In canon the standard imperial infantry were phased out for stormtroopers by the time of the OT, which is why we don't see them in anything besides solo. That was a cool design though, I could see an AT-DT set with a mudtrooper and a few imperial infantry units.
  4. Yeah, but even then that's no film for 2-3 years, which is much better than the one-movie-per-year for getting sets from older films. Also, It seems to me like there's alot of "confirmed" trilogies and films that aren't actually happening. The GoT guys left their trilogy, I highly doubt Rian Johnson's trilogy is happening, and there's also Leata Kalogridi's supposed KOTOR trilogy. And just last week they announced Taika Watiti's film. I think we'll see one trilogy with the 2022, 2025, 2027 release dates Disney has marked for "star wars films", and then a few spin off films. Should give us plenty of time to get sets for older films in between. That we can agree on, the worst sets are the ones lego make for their own shows like freemakers and stuff. I think the problem with legends getting sets stems from the fact that it's all from older games, books, and comics. Lego doesn't really make star wars sets based on even current books or comics because most have a smaller amount of people who read them, and those people are usually older and not in the target audiance of children. So lego can't afford to put out a set based on some old game or comic because they won't get any children to recognize it. Legends still has a few fans, but I doubt the amount of legends fans that would also buy legos is a big enough market for lego to justify it.
  5. I think it's coming out with the rest of the mosiacs. I was responding to someone who said that it would be good for people who only wanted the set for the baby yoda. There's no way he'll be more expensive than the set itsellf, so unless you sell the rest of the set on bricklink or something, it would still be cheaper to just spend $30 or whatever on the figure. Although the cheapest option is to put a CW yoda head on a 1x1 brick I think it's more towards getting two statues in one year. Though that is a great MOC, it also does kinda illustrate we just got adult yoda statue last year, do we need a baby Yoda statue this year? A creator expert set leaked and it uses a similar boxart design to the helmets and a-wing. Dark background, small lego logo in bottom left corner, set name in white text with horizontal lines above and below it. I find it strange they're using that similar of a design, since lots of star wars merchandise meant for adult collectors seems to use that design.
  6. I don't know, I think we should let legends die, at least set wise. They lose the iconicity most canon sets have, and they'd be taking spots other sets could take. That said, they made the sandspeeder, so who knows what lego will or won't do. Totally agree about the sequels though, even though I think they're good films (except TLJ), and the idea that they'd be using newer models of old ships makes sense, but almost EVERYTHING was an updated version of an OT vehicle. Would it have killed them to give us a resistance tank? I'll attempt to create sets in the style of the above for the resistance and first order: ($299.99): The Resistance: Resistance transport, Ski speeder, 2x Gian-211 patrol speeder, scavenged Imperial AT-ST, DF.12 com turret,6x resistance trooper, 2x resistance pilot, 2x resistance officer, Rey, Finn, Poe, BB-8, General Leia. ($299.99): The first order: First order troop transport, First Order AT-AT (no, not AT-M6), First order AT-ST, 4x first order stormtrooper, 2x first order heavy stormtrooper, 2x flametrooper, 3x first order walker driver, Hux, Phasma, Kylo Ren, BB-9E.
  7. I honestly can't believe ventress slipped my mind. And I love both ground and space battles the same, but I think it's more so that there haven't been as many prequel sets as the reason for lack of ground vehicles. The hovertank, AT-ST, AT-AT, and the T-47, so the only combat ground vehicles we really see in the OT and rebellion-era films all have/will have sets from 2016-2020, which isn't that bad. I think the reason is threefold why we have the OT ground vehicles but not PT. 1: due to the new films, there was less stuff for the older films RO was OT era, so it got the hovertank and AT-ST. 2: empire strikes back's anniversary seems to have been part of the reason for the AT-AT, and 3: lego is addicted to snowspeeders/landspeeders.
  8. yes, 100%. The large ball joints have much more friction than mixel joints, the prototype is completely different structurally there. that walker's not going to stand on it's own.
  9. No, (and I can't believe I'm defending MandR), but he's saying it'd be buildible like those statue sets, out of normal bricks. I wouldn't count on it being true just yet, MandR does alot of rumor videos and the only instances I can recall where he knew something before anyone else leaked it were the 501st set and vader's castle. It's certianly possible, and makes sense considering the set number, but I wouldn't count on getting it for that baby yoda just yet. (also, if you only want the set for the baby yoda, I'd think you should just bricklink baby yoda)
  10. Yeah, a walker needs to be able to stand on it's own. I'm a bit skeptical that this can, seeing as the upper legs and "head" of the walker are connected by a singly clip/bar connection per leg to the lower legs. I might be missing something there, but I don't think that can take the weight.
  11. Yeah, especially since we already have our 2020 statue set. I wouldn't be as upset if 75318 is real and a baby yoda statue, it would actually make sense both set-number wise (it comes after the brickheadz) and pricewise, but if the $100 set we know is coming is a baby yoda statue, I'll be severly disappointed.
  12. I would say I doubt this, but he did predict his 501st battle pack..so I guess it's possible!
  13. This looks great, very clean-looking but also greebled in the right places, and you did a good job shaping it at such a low price. only thing is I think the neb-b's got 7 engines, not 5. It looks like there should be enough room to mod it pretty easily though. If we don't get an official neb-b set anytime soon, i might have to get those instructions once you post them. Highly agree, even in the smallest things i've built there's inevitably a weak connection or some other problem. Having a physical model built would greatly improve people's belief in the stability of the design.
  14. Sorry, I phrased my question wrong. There are 8 guards in-universe, right? Or at least that we see onscreen. There are 3 helmet types and 4 "pairs" of guards each having different weapons. So there would be one helmet type there's 4 of, and 2 there's 2 of, but I can't find anywhere it says which helmet type has 4 guards.
  15. No, we have no idea what the $100 set could be. The AT-TE was speculation based on price, piece count, and hope that it'll be clone wars based.
  16. #wewantaucsgonkdroid, I'm flying to denmark now to stand outside the LEGO house with an amplifier playing gonk droid noises. Unironically I actually think that a gonk droid in the style of yoda or porg could sell well. Yeah, I feel like just increasing the number of army-builder figures per set would make them a lot easier to get. I mean, just look at the bricklink prices of 501st troopers, or even the 212th troopers that came in a battle pack and now cost more than the battle pack did at release. As for the Army of the Republic set, I had a kind of similar idea awhile back of sort of "starter sets" for factions, though they were more like slightly enlarged 501st battle packs than your idea of massive sets that can have stuff like AT-ATs and republic dropships. I like the idea of massive sets that have basically an entire faction, if you'll allow me to try a few: ($299.99) Grand Army of the Republic: AT-TE, AV-7 (between sizes of it's standalone set and the battle pack it was in), LAAT, 2x AT-RTs (accurately sized), 2x BARC speeders, 4x p2 shinies, 2x 501st, 2x 212th, 2x clone pilot, Rex, Cody, Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-wan, based on their season 3-5 character models, but still in the normal style without the weird eyes. ($299.99) Separatist alliance: Hailfire droid, Octupurra droid, Droid gunship, platoon attack craft, 2x droidika, 2x dwarf spider droid, 12x b1s, 6x b2s, 4x bx commandos, commando captain, Dooku, Grievous, Cad Bane(I don't really know who to put for the last named character) ($299.99) Rebel alliance (had to get creative, they only have one well known ground vehicle): U-wing, t-47 snowspeeder, stolen juggernaut tank, X-34 with repeating blaster mounted like in battlefront 2, speeder bike, p-tower, DF-9, 4x rebel trooper, 2x honor guard, 2x rebel commando, 2x snowspeeder pilot, 1x rebel pilot, Han, Chewbacca, Leia (hoth), Luke (yavin jacket, no medal). ($299.99) Galactic empire: AT-AT, AT-ST, imperial dropship, E-web, 2 speeder bikes, 4x stormtrooper, 2x scout trooper, 2x at-at pilots, 1x at-st pilot, 1x shuttle pilot, stormtrooper commander, stormtrooper seargent, Vader, Palptine, Tarkin.
  17. He's referring to the fact that you said the model was sturdy and then later admitted you never built it, seemingly contradicting yourself since you hadn't mentioned this physical design yet. would you mind showing images of your physical design? if the asthetic parts are different it's possible it weighs more, which could change stability, and I'm also interested to see that design physically.
  18. As much as I like clone battalions, I'm gonna have to agree with you here. The 501st campaign may have started meaning well but it quickly became annoying and sounding entitled, and the scenario @501stover212th is, meaning no offense to him, incredibly unrealistic to expect. If i'm reading this right, he's saying they "need to be heard" that lego has to make more battle packs not only of the clone legions, but sets containing all the major named clones of each legion alongside them. Even assuming lego did this, it would either be spread out along a REALLY long time (which is fine, 1-2 clone sets a wave would be great), or it'd be a few years of basically only getting GAR sets, which would be terrible not only for sales but for any fans that like any bit of star wars besides the republic. Again, I'm all for getting more clone sets, but let's make our voices heard with our wallets by buying up that 501st set, not with unrealistic "demands".
  19. Yeah, whenever I order on lego.com US the total is 10% more than the sets' retail price. Doesn't sound that bad until suddenly you have to pay $220 for the A-wing instead of $200. Yeah, they really need to do an ahsoka this wave, or at least in january 2021. We haven't had a clone wars ahsoka in 7 years, and the rebels ahsoka only came in an expensive set that's been retired for years. There's clearly demand, looking at bricklink the only ahsoka figure that's not really expensive for a figure is her s1/s2 costume, the worst of her costumes and the one with only one facial expression. The s3-s5 costume only has one seller in north america ($42), and the rebels one is $130, the same cost as the set she came in originally came out. Yes, from what I gather the $100 set is almost certainly coming but we don't know what it is, and the other set is just a possibility, not even confirmed that it'll release at all.
  20. I just did a few google searches and it appears that the rate changed from a dollar being worth .73ish euros to .93, but that would make them closer in price, right? It could also be part of the reason for prices increasing in sweden. However the exchange rates work out, I still feel the AT-AT is overpriced compared to other SW sets around the same cost. If the social media managers already have images ready to go would that bode well for the rest of the augest sets being revealed alongside the AT-AT?
  21. I doubt that. I can't remember the last time we didn't have the fall UCS set. But yeah, my maul/ahsoka brickheadz comment was meant as if it was instead of a set with their figures, as you suspected. I wouldn't hate the brickheadz set if a set with them as figures came alongside it, especially since it'd be cool to see Ahsoka's head-tails (is that just for twilecks? If so, what are those things togrutas have on their head called?) made on a brickheadz figure.
  22. Wait, which helmet type are there four of?
  23. It's only 30 euros more, but in america it's $50 more. Given that I believe the euro and dollar are pretty close, it might not be that bad in europe, but it is a bad price in america. I wish they put that pack on pre-order, I'll never be able to get hold of any copies save getting up at 3am on august first. yup. "you wanted ahsoka and maul? Here's brickheadz of them instead of minifigures"
  24. As a student, I can confirm that in america at least a 72.5% is bad, and a 65% would probably kill me. yeah, the way the mouth comes out really makes it look like the original helmet print.
  25. It would make sense, but lego doesn't like to make sense when it comes to revealed/leaked sets. Like that one time a set (I think it was for the new wonder woman film?) leaked, and they ordered a takedown of the images despite the fact that people were finding it on-shelf in stores already. Yeah, we need some more mauldalorians. I have the same conundrum. It's a great set, but $160 is such an outlandish price I wouldn't have believed it if Landino didn't confirm it. Like, this isn't the normal "legos are expensive" stuff, this is more overpriced than most other sets. But on the other hand, it'll still be the cheapest way to get a system-scale AT-AT, and I don't have one yet. I wonder if it would be cheaper to bricklink the parts? Aside from the sand blue chairs and a few other pieces, it shouldn't be difficult, and I already have the older version of almost all the figures.
