As for the temple moc....."do it. Strike me down with all your point-proving, and your journey to the MOC-builder side will be complete" . Your layout idea does sound like a possible way to get around the problems I've mentioned, I'm looking forwards to it. I can't help but wonder if what they said about the TIE bomber was done knowing that they were moving to smaller sets, and that they would be able to do a TIE bomber since they're downsizing. As for ships that have never been done, there's many, but out of ones that are actually plausible to be made by lego and not, like, random background ship #42, I can only think of a few besides the one you mentioned: TIE reaper, AT-ACT (I'm not sure if that counts), Stinger Mantis, Sith Star destroyer, Lucrehulk, any Mon Cala Cruiser or capital ship. Most of them are variations of existing sets, somewhat obscure, or both, with the only ones that are really glaring omissions being the Lucrehulk and MC-80 Mon Cala capital ship.

It's about a 50/50 shot as to whether or not we'll get a new wave of these cheaper models, IMO. They seem to have gone all-in for this wave but they might want to wait to see how well they do before making more. That said, on the issue of them being repeats, "Oh, I don't think so." They've done the hexagonal TIE, X-wing, and imperial shuttle this wave, so the odds are nearly 100% that we won't see similar vehicles next wave. I think it's possible we could see these smaller styles for ships from the sequels and prequels (The ARC-170 and TIE silencer would both be done very well at a smaller scale IMO, and a $15-20 Vulture sounds nice.) You see, that's the problem. Only the exterior and one room are really iconic, and even then it's not nearly the level of the death star, or cloud city (at least, the "No, I am your father" scene, which is arguably the single most iconic movie scene in history). The other big problem with an MBS jedi temple is that unless it was super expensive, it would have to be more like the death star or cloud city to work, not a full exterior like the cantina. So then you're relying on the iconicity of the interior, and the only thing there is the council room. IMO they should just do a council room 18+ set for say, $80, in the style of the I am your father set. Jedi Council (18+, $79.99): Jedi council room comprised of the floor, seats, and the wall behind the seats. Comes with Anakin, Obi-wan, Yoda, Mace Windu, Plo Koon (new head mold), Kit Fisto (new head mold), Shaak Ti, and Coleman Kcaj. Trans-light blue builds have holograms of Stass Allie, Agen Kolar, Sasee Tin, and Ki-Adi Mundi included as stickers. As for a summer wave, I'll do it as if it were a normal summer wave, with the exception of battle packs being added. Last summer wave had 8 sets ranging from $30-160, so adding battlepacks in that's 10 sets. I will attempt to spread them out to every era, it appears the OT has more but that's because it's including the Mandalorian, Squadrons, and Rogue one. There are Two TIEs, but I thought it would be acceptable given how different the reaper is from a standard TIE. Imperial remnant battle pack ($14.99): two remnant stormtroopers, a scout trooper and a incinerator stormtrooper with flamethrower. Comes with a grey imperial speeder bike and a small bit of terrain with room to place a stud shooter. Siege of mandalore battle pack ($14.99): Comes with 2 death watch mandalorians and 2 mandalorians. build is a small bit of the mandalore sewers with an explode feature and small launcher-type thing to make the mandalorians "fly" Speeder Bikes ($29.99): 2 speeder bikes, a tree build with a small ewok catapult on it, and a build of some terrain like a fallen trunk and some ferns (where Leia meets Wicket). Comes with Endor Leia, Endor Luke, a scout trooper, and Wicket. The Emperor Reborn ($39.99): Comes with the Sith Throne, Ommin Harness, and some minor details like the jar of snokes. Comes with palpatine (ommin harness-reliant), Palpatine (reborn), Ben solo, and Rey Skywalker. Battle of geonosis ($59.99): more accurately sized Hailfire Droid, BARC speeder and some terrain. Comes with 2x clone trooper, 1x clone captain, 1x clone seargent, and 2x geonosis battle droid. TIE outlander ($69.99): TIE outlander with Moff Gideon (darksaber), the mandalorian (beskar, jetpack), greef Karga (season 2), a Mortar Stormtrooper, and some character from season 2 we haven't seen yet. TIE reaper ($79.99): TIE reaper with TIE pilot, Coastal defender pilot, 2x death troopers, Terisa Kerrill, and Director Krennic. U-wing ($89.99): Vanguard squadron colors, slightly bigger cockpit/underside and more accurate wings. Comes with 2 U-wing Pilots (one of which is Gunni), 2 scarif rebel troopers, Lindon Javes and Mon Mothma. AT-TE ($109.99): AT-TE with dwarf spider droid sidebuild. comes with 3x clone trooper, clone commander, clone lieutenant, 2x super battle droid, count dooku and yoda. Sith Star Destroyer($149.99): Final Order Star Destroyer with interior bridge, armory, hologram room, Figures are 2x final order crew, 2x final order officer, 2x sith trooper, general Pryde, Finn, Jannah, and Beaumont Kin.

LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I was about to argue that $70-80 sets usually have 4-6 figures, but....not in 2020, you're right. My point was more so that these sets are somewhat of a new thing with the lower cost and downsize. It's possible that they're able to achieve the lower cost in part with less figures and the lambda will only have 2-3, or it's possible that they've realized they'll sell more sets if they stop pricing them so poorly (like you said, $80 for a $50-60 set with only 3 figures....no one will buy that) and the lambda will have 4-6. -

Additionally you can make a more accurately sized at-rt using almost only the parts from the set. I tried it about a month ago and got this result, only adding some mixel ball joints for the legs. I mean, you can still include the rest of the droid, just have the head attach to the interceptor. -

Honestly I think it depends upon if their leadership gives in to the demands of random people on twitter, or if they actually have some guts. I doubt any of the people that were triggered by a lego set being based on an iconic star wars location that could be construed as vaguely resembling a mosque were going to buy lego sets anyway. -

Honestly I don't get why they don't just only put the head on like they did in some older sets. Looking at the actual interceptor CG model, I don't think the R2 unit actually would be able to fully fit (one of the many problems with Lucas's CGI overuse in the prequels). I agree about the problem with large parts not coming in bags though, I frequently get some scratches on them when I open the set. Large plates even come bent sometimes. We do not. As it's an $80 set I would expect 4-5 figures, but on the other hand, we don't know how these downsizings in price will impact figure count. It could be that it's just 2 imperial pilots and vader, or it could be like 7 figures. Well, technically, s2 mando has a slight difference, I think part of his leg armor is slightly different. Of course it's a super minor detail, so if it is a season 2 set it'll be the beskar-clad mando we all want. -

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. If you're asking why we didn't get a remake of those sets, it's because we had a tri-fighter what, 6 years ago?, which isn't that long ago compared to many other ships. For the defender, the original set was based on legends, which they no longer do, and the new version is from rebels, which lego seems hesitant to make more sets of especially now that it's ended it's run. I'm hoping for some new figures (endor luke), but both those would be great and all of the new sets (sans the micro falcon of course) are good enough builds that the figures don't have to be amazing to make it a great set. Which is how it should be IMO. -
The ORIGINAL Xmas Wing Fighter [MOC]
Mandalorianknight replied to Evilkirk's topic in LEGO Star Wars
"all wings report in" "Noel leader, standing by" "Noel 3, standing by" "Yuletide 4, standing by" Jokes aside, that's a great model! It's impressive that it's superior to the official one in some areas despite being based on the 2012 model instead of the 2018 one. Love the chimney for the R2 unit, are those reindeer antlers by the cockpit? @LEGODrongo01 we already have poe's 2015 x-wing, what more do we need?- 13 replies

It is indeed a variant, the "@Mandalorianknight completely forgot about the stripes" version of the craft. I honestly can't believe I missed those gray stripes, I've fixed the error and changed the images accordingly. Thanks for pointing it out so I could fix it. As for the part suggestion, it's an interesting idea. I messed around a bit with my model and it could definitely work, but It'd require me to re-do the structural skeleton of the build. As this model is meant to fit with the 2018 tie fighter model and the bomber moc I made earlier this year (and I'm lazy), I think i'll leave that part as it is. Thank you so much for the suggestions!

Only if the jedi gonks can oppose them: Yodonk, Qui-gonk Jonk, Ahsonka Tanonk, Obi-wan Kenobonk, Lonk Skywalkonk, Reyonk Palpatonk, Ben Solonk (AKA Klyonk Ronk). Of course alongside them would have to be Chewbonka, Han Solonk, Princess Leionk Organonk Solonk, Padme Amidolonk, Gt-7567 "rexonk", Poe Dameonk, Fonk,

Luke and the AT-AT pilot have stud shooters in the microfighter two-pack. Personally I'm fine with that since luke still has his lightsaber and it seems to be in place of stud shooters strapped on to the AT-AT -
Thanks! And if you're a fan of TIEs, you're in luck! UPDATES: Y-WING STARFIGHTER AND TIE/LN interceptor Vanguard Squadron Y-wing starfighter ($79.99), 909 pieces "Bomb the empire to oblivion with the Vanguard Y-wing starfighter! Load the bombs, equip the turret, place the pilot in the cockpit, and fly for freedom! This Star Wars set includes the Vanguard Squadron variant of the classic Y-wing, as seen in EA's Star Wars Squadrons. The set's features include an opening cockpit, storage area, bomb bay with bomb drop function, and removable turret. Included in the set are Hera Syndulla, Gold Leader, Feresk Tassat, a rebel astromech, and an imperial stormtrooper!" So as you can see, there are some major changes between the 2016 y-wing and this one. One of the main ones is that the main body is a bit thicker, which I think gives the y-wing a chunkier, more bomber-like like look here. You can see in the third image the gear that, when turned, causes the bombs to drop. Squadrons has an emphasis on customizing starfighter components, so I wanted to represent that with the swappable turret and different coloring for the bombs to represent different ammo types. I decided to further differentiate it, I'd base it on squadrons, so included as figures are Hera, who appears in the game (or at least in the trailers, I haven't seen her in the game's campaign yet), and Feresk, the y-wing pilot for vanguard squadron. This is the vanguard squadron color scheme, but I wanted to see what my design would look like as a classic y-wing, so for the first time with one of my mocs I've rendered some alternative color schemes, classic and "red jammer". I think it looks better with these color schemes than in the vanguard one, honestly. Next up is a TIE lego hasn't done since 2006. Titan Squadron TIE interceptor ($69.99), 698 pieces "Outfly the enemy with the imperial TIE interceptor! Load the spring shooters, place the pilot in the cockpit, and launch into attack! This Star Wars set includes the TIE interceptor, as seen in Return of the Jedi and most recently EA's Star Wars Squadrons. The set's features include an opening cockpit, spring loaded shooters, and tiles to change the TIE's markings. Included in the set are a titan squadron TIE pilot, an Allegiance TIE pilot, captain Terisa Kerrill, a scout trooper and endor rebel trooper!" Alright, this is something I've wanted to do for forever. First off, you might notice the clips don't line up right, I've done some physical drafting of this and it should work in real life but it's not something stud.io allows. The wings were a pain to get at a good angle, but in their current position they're supported and you could just set this thing down without the wings folding, were it a real set. The figures were fun to choose, I wanted one of the new TIE pilot types from squadrons (more on that later), so I chose the Allegiance pilot, loyal only to the emperor, and of course captain Terisa Kerrill is an interesting character I wanted to put in the set. The endor rebel and imperial scout are just there because there needed to be some combat troops. The 8 2x2 tiles would have prints with various imperial emblems, meant to represent squadrons's fighter customization. I really wanted to do some of the crazier new TIE pilot variants like Regicide or the shoretrooper pilot, but I think I'll put them in my next moc, a TIE reaper. Any thoughts on my starfighter builds? let me know any feedback or suggestions, as well as any ideas for future set mockups from any era!

I saw this too, I hope it's preliminary. Maybe it means a new head print and new torso print? None of the figures in any other sets are shown (not even side builds, as I'm sure at least the 4+ set has a side build). Hoping we get some good figure selections, as while these are nice models and at a good price, I can't see people picking them up if they've got the previous versions. Granted, it's been awhile since the last lambda. -
That's a prety dang good-looking design there! I always liked the legends version of the headhunter, this design captures it very well.

Agreed. Kinda reminds me of the old 2003 clone wars with the clone jousters. Weirdly enough the unknown microfighter isn't there either, and the resistance x-wing is barely shown. I'm guessing whoever got the catalogue just didn't take a picture of it for some reason or other. Tie looks pretty good, though they really needed to recolor that ball joint. X-wing image is kinda blurry so I can't tell for sure but it looks nearly as good as the 2018 one, and for $30 less that's not bad at all. Lamda looks good too, nothing special but it's a great ship anyway. Resistance starfighter is fine for a 4+ set. As for the microfighters, they look fine, I might pick up the two pack for hoth luke and to use as parts. The han set has me worried, they seem to have regressed and are now using the scott lang/peter parker head for han. Personally I won't pick up any of these except maybe the tauntaun microfighter, just because I have the most recent prior versions of all these sets, but they look like good sets and I'm happy for anyone who wants to pick up a good model of an iconic ship without breaking the bank. Hopefully the figure selections are nice. -

"approximately 3,720 to 1!" I'd say anywhere from 15-30%. I think it's not that likely, as they'd want to keep the child exclusive to the more expensive sets, but maybe they figure it won't hurt the value enough, or enough time has passed. that's not what they're saying, though. Think about it this way. With the limited amount of sets produced for the con, they have limited stock. They can't sell it worldwide, due to the aforementioned lack of stock. So they sell it in the country the convention was in, which is probably where the stock was before covid anyway. Is it by any means perfect? No, but it takes something that would have been a convention exclusive, or this year just not released, and makes it a little easier to get ahold of. It's not like they're taking retail sets and making them US exclusive, these are things that would have been sold only at conventions anyway. They're not taking a random set deciding to make it america-exclusive to "screw the rest of the world" or something, they're taking something that you'd only be able to get if you had a ticket to SDCC and making it a little easier to get ahold of. I feel you there, that's why I stopped collecting. (That, and with endgame over I don't really care that much about most of the new films) -

As for your last sentence, that's one of the pros of not having a big enough budget to buy everything you want day one! if this is any good I'll get it with the AT-AT. As for what's in it, the battle GWPS might be a bit too big depending on how much is going to be in the box, but I struggle to think of what else would fit the description. We really haven't had any minifig polybags recently (maybe Obi-wan, possibly blue milk luke?), but I m sure there'll be a lot of garbage mini builds. I wonder if exclusive gifts means there'll be stuff exclusive to the box... -
Lego should do Star Wars collectible mini figures
Mandalorianknight replied to Jimalaya's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That chewbacca variant recently came to the galaxy of heroes mobile game, they got anthony daniels to voice new lines for c-3po to say! That would be a really cool figure, they could do it with only 1-2 new molds, too. A new chewie mold that looks like it has a net of 3po parts on the back that c-3po's head can be attached to at an angle, or a new chewie mold with studs on the back and then a new small net that can connect to the studs to put 3po parts into. They could honestly do all that with just one small update to the body, it's infuriating. He's in so many sets and has been unchanged mold-wise since 1999, c'mon lego!- 49 replies

Not only that, but the temple itself has a problem. Usually these sets have action features and tons of iconic rooms. With the temple, there are only three rooms that are somewhat iconic; the council chambers, the library. and the youngling training room, which is really just an empty room. (there's the briefing room and medbay from clone wars, too, but the medbay is super obscure and even with the briefing room, that's three areas. So, there aren't really many iconic rooms, and no action scenes. You might think this could be solved by adding that main hallway area with the statues and stuff from operation knightfall, but I guarantee lego will avoid that area due to, uh, genocide of children being it's most prominent scene. So you end up with 2-3 iconic rooms and no rooms with action scenes, and no conflict in general without going way darker than lego will ever go. IMO, we should get these instead: Temple library ($29.99): holocron shelves, table, some of the lost twenty busts. Probably a sliding door, lego loves sliding doors in SW playsets. Figures: Obi-wan (episode 2 with old luke's hair in dark orange), Jocasta nu, youngling (with youngling training helmet). jedi Council ($49.99): council chambers with sliding door at one end. Comes with anakin, Obi-wan, Yoda, Plo Koon, Mace Windu, and Oppo Rancisis. Objectively: Balance between trilogies/eras, skewed to new releases (I.e. if the mandalorian season 2 comes out a few months before/after the wave, mandalorian sets will be a plurality.) Battle packs with mainly army-building figures, microfighters of iconic ships with iconic characters or desirable variants. Playsets included as well, not just vehicles. Subjectively: Balance between trilogies, with a slight OT plurality. battle packs with 3 generic soldiers and a specialist or officer, microfighters that provide new variants. At some point some OT capital ships, c'mon we need something besides a star destroyer at some point! If it could be whatever I wanted: Rebel fleet trooper and stormtrooper battle packs, as well as a pack with 2 clone shinies, a 212th and coruscant guard, and a pack with the resistance aliens (caphex spy, ovissian gunner) from battlefront 2. Another U-wing, an MC-80, an arquitens or quasar-fire, more endor sets and a venator. a $2,000 life sized UCS gonk droid.

Not an either/or, we could easily get a UCS one in a few years. Not too big of a correlation here. Neb-b isn't from the sequels? No idea. They also showed off a marvel set that would have been an SDCC exclusive too.
