I would buy everything on the list if I could, these are great set ideas. You've got a nice balance between eras, too, only thing I would say is maybe replace the republic shuttle with either another endor type set or a separatist ship. It's been about 6 months or so since the last time I did this, so I'm going to start again with an updated list for each film and show. First off, The Phantom Menace. Microfighters: Republic Frigate ($9.99): Maoi Madakor Lucrehulk battleship ($9.99): Nute Gunrey Kaadu versus AAT ($19.99): Jar Jar and OOM-9 Battle packs: Naboo defenders ($14.99): Naboo security guard (x2), gungan warrior (x2). Build is a kaadu and a small bit of terrain. Trade Federation droids ($14.99): 4x battle droid, 2x security battle droid. Build is a STAP, droidika, and small control panel. Full sets: Duel on tatooine ($19.99): Maul's speeder and a moisture vaporator, just like the 1999 set. Comes with Maul and Qui-gon Saving the Queen ($29.99): Bit of naboo architecture with a balcony for the jedi to drop down from. Comes with Obi-wan, Queen Amidala, and 2 battle droids. Flash speeder ($39.99): Flash speeder build with naboo pilot, naboo security guard, Captain Panaka, and 2 battle droids. The Duel of the Fates ($59.99): Large Naboo reactor area with catwalks extending across multiple levels to the pit Maul falls into. A representation of the ray shield hallway is included. Comes with Qui-gon, Obi-wan, and Darth Maul. Naboo starfighter vs vulture droid ($69.99): Naboo starfighter and vulture droid (smaller than 2014's vulture droid), along with a landing dock for the naboo starfighter. Comes with Young anakin, R2-D2, naboo pilot, Padme (Purple battle uniform), security battle droid, droidika. MTT ($129.99): Large MTT build with room for 14 battle droids to fold up inside. Also comes with 2 battle droid pilots to drive it, Boss Nass, and a gungan warrior. Republic Frigate ($139.99): large republic frigate in the red counselor color with Obi-wan, Qui-gon, Maoi Madakor, 2x republic judicial trooper, Nute Gunray, Rune Haako, TC-14, and a build for the walking hologram platform with a palpatine hologram on it. UCS: Lucrehulk battleship ($399.99): Nute Gunray After doing this I can see why TPM gets so few sets, the only real iconic things are the duel of the fates and the naboo starfighter, as well as stuff that's more well known for it's clone wars version like the republic frigate or vulture droid.

to me this looks more comparable to something like the 2018 x-wing in terms of scale.

Actually I think that was based off the silhouettes, which turned out to just be the silhouettes from previous set's figure selections and not the final ones (That's where the "normal figure, protocol droid, short legs figure" rumor for the TIE came from). Obviously Luke and R2 will be in the set but the possibility of more figures is not out of the question. -

True. It could also be the speeder seen in posters along with some other build/s or something. -

Yeah, what I do as a general rule is if I'm ordering basic parts from more than 3-4 sellers I'll just buy it from the lego store. -

Not sure what you mean. The only thing in that trailer that could possibly be a $30 set was the ITT, which isn't a hero vehicle, so it's unlikely we've seen it yet. Although that would make a great set, especially if we got the new cara and greef as well as the mythrol in it, maybe for $40-50. That would be pretty cool. Given the new trailer's information about his mission, maybe a fang fighter? That's a hero vehicle that would include a mandalorian. New trailer is amazing by the way, I'm super hyped for this show. -
but given all the faux-controversy about lego, marketing it as 18+ and making it one big set (as if it were two sets, and given that we get one MBS set every 2 years, that's either a minimum 3-4 year span of jabba-only MBS sets, or just a huge gap between sets.) should actually make it more palatable to the marketing people. Sort of getting it out of the way so all the possibly controversial things are put into one set marketed towards adults.
-
Depends on how much interior detail there is. And if it includes max rebo, because if it doesn't, it's automatically the same category as assault on hoth. A jabba's palace MBS would be pretty nice, and with the new 18+ label they could probably get away with some of the stuff there's been faux-controversy about. I have an idea for something similar they could do... Jabba's palace ($499.99): Massive, 2500-ish piece jabba's palace, 2000-ish piece sail barge, sarlacc build, brick-built bantha, and skiff. Jabba's palace is built sort of like the old 2003 model in terms of layout, with two side areas. One consisting of a droid workshop/torture room and a prison, the other consisting of the gate area and a small guard post (maybe with a jukebox as a reference to the 2006 game), with some stairs on either side towards the main room, which is jabba's throne room. a trapdoor function drops unlucky figures into the lower part of the center build, the rancor pit. A molded rancor is included. The sail barge has the deck gun and the interior consists of a throne room for jabba, bar/viewing area, and prison cell. The skiff has a plank for luke to walk and a small build that can retract into the bottom of it representing the droid magnet. Included figures are: Jabba Desilijic Tiure (like his 2012 molds), Salacious B. Crumb (single mold), Rancor (molded like 2013 set), Bib fortuna, 2 gamorrean guards, Boba Fett, buildable B'morr monk, Luke, Boushh leia, Chewie, Han (carbonite piece and normal figure of course), Huttslayer leia, Lando (disguise), C-3PO, R2-D2, EV-9d9, GNK droid, EV-8d8, Oola, Max Rebo, Sny Snootles, Lyn Me, Ephant Mon, Yak Face, Tessek, Kithba, ishi tib thug, weequay thug, and Ree-yes. Yeah there's a few more figures than the death star (most comparable set based on price and style), but since quite a few are battle droid type, built from bricks, or one small mold (salacious crumb, 9d9 and 8d8, gonk droid, etc), I think it's still a reasonable number.

Yeah, Nett's head is a pretty good choice. For resistance characters, there are many torso options if you're trying for the more scruffy looking aesthetic they've got, most torsos for tatooine rebels will work, as well as endor ones, definitely jedha/scarif rebels, too. But for replicating specific film costumes, there aren't many other choices. Looking at this image the torsos made for the TFA sets cover most characters here, aside from the occasional jacket or satchel. For some specific characters, cassian's torso would work great for the caphex spy. The ovissian gunner could use rose's torso, though it's not as close of a match. Nien Numb could use the knight rider torso.

It's tough to find ones with the visor on, someone said they used a clone pilot head awhile back in the thread, I use the zev senesca head from the hoth battle pack. Without the visor, maybe Ezra's? I'm not sure...

I believe the sandcrawler lore is non-canon now. It is weird that there are sandcrawlers on multiple planets though, maybe there's an interplanetary jawa guild? With jawa capital ships and transports that drop sandcrawlers onto planets like gozantis do at-ats? I think the offworld jawas are a different color for out of universe reasons, mainly to fit the more gritty vibe of the mandalorian, and for the same reason there's a new stormtrooper type and TIE every time there's new star wars media: merch. I doubt any season 1 set would be hidden from retailer catalogues this later after the season's release, it's almost certainly season 2. Two options in the spoiler: But really guys, it's most likely a season 2 set, especially since it's not in the catalogue. The offworld jawas in a cartoon don't change anything, especially since they don't have new prints. A new rose figure with new prints is in the special too, and there aren't any sets for her to be in, so I doubt that these mean anything. -
There's an interior?!?! I love the interior at the back with the reactor build, and the conference table and computer stations at the front are great too.

The holiday special has also hinted other figures, including TROS rose, and there are no TROS sets next wave that we know of. Especially since these jawas just have the normal jawa prints with DBG parts and red eyes, I'm guessing they're just for the special. -

I'm assuming only one person gets the prize, so...extra stock, maybe? They usually throw in an old set or two, I think the last star wars ideas contest a year or so ago had the ucs R2-D2 along with the entire 20th wave. This is something I'm going to have to give a shot, that prize is too big to pass up and I've already got some ideas for christmas sets... -
I'd replace chewie with han and then add chewie and boushh leia to the palace, maybe add lyn me somewhere, but that's a minor gripe and pretty subjective. I'd buy all of these, I love the scum/bounty hunter themed sets. Allow me to continue to the second half of the film with a battle of endor wave, again very unlikely. Scout walker vs ewok glider ($19.99): AT-ST driver and Wicket Lambda shuttle ($9.99): imperial pilot A-wing ($9.99): A-wing pilot rebel commandos ($14.99): 2x rebel commando (green trench coat with bandolier), 1x rebel commando (tan vest), 1x rebel commando (tan vest, white shirt). Build is a tree with a net trap. Endor troopers ($14.99): 2x stormtrooper, 1x scout trooper, 1x navy trooper. Build is a speeder bike and a small bit of the bunker, sort of like a small radio antenne or satellite. Speeder bikes ($24.99): 2 speeder bikes, a tree build, and a bit of terrain. Figures are Endor Luke, a scout trooper, and Endor Leia. Ewok Attack ($29.99, 501st legion style): Ewok glider and catapult with Teebo, Tugtar (squadrons), an ewok scout (based on the swgoh character), a rebel commando, and a scout trooper. Ewok Village ($49.99): A village build built from 3 trees with the connected platform/huts. There is a small catapult function and a rock-drop feature. Comes with Chirpa, Logray, a baby ewok (using baby mold with specialized head), C-3PO, and 2 stormtroopers. AT-ST ambush ($79.99): An AT-ST walker, along with two trees on either side with a log smash function. Comes with Paploo, Wicket, Chewbacca, 2x AT-ST driver, and a stormtrooper. Endor bunker ($159.99): Large endor bunker build with satellite on top. Comes with Endor Han, Endor Leia, R2-D2, Rex, a rebel commando, 2x imperial navy trooper, 2x stormtrooper, 2x scout trooper, and an imperial officer.

He's regularly had inside information, I'm not sure he can say where he got it but I'm inclined to believe him.

I've never had missing parts (though I have had ones where the print is weird). However, I have had maybe 9 or 10 instances where I search through all the parts and believe the part is missing, only for it to have been in the clear plastic bag the whole time. If you haven't thrown out the bag, check it again, as sometimes if they're crumpled the right way it not only prevents some smaller parts from falling out when it's opened but makes it harder to see the part too. Somewhat unrelated but I did have an extra part in my u-wing back when I bought it in 2016. Not one of the normal small replacement parts, but 18674 2x2 tile with open stud. -
Looking at the most recent cloud car from B@CC, most parts from that are available in dark orange. I think this might stem from dark orange being more expensive on bricklink due to a lower amount of sets with the color than red, though I doubt dark orange is a much more expensive color for lego to produce. I recently had the amazing opportunity to watch The Empire Strikes Back in theaters, and between that and images from google, it definitely looks more of an orange than red. I 100% agree it needs a set though, it's a pretty well-known vehicle, could come with some iconic figures, and only needs to be about $20. Though I might be a bit biased, I'm a big fan of the cloud car pilot design and if they were cheaper on bricklink I would probably amass a small army. The red/white color scheme coupled with that helmet makes them look like alliance special forces to me. You're totally right, a resistance b-wing would be an excellent set. And it totally would be a great opportunity to get some great new figures too, like ackbar's son like you said, and also a new general leia, beaumont kin, maybe some of the battlefront 2 resistance alien special forces (caphex spy and ovissian gunner).
-
Yeah, I may have overdone it a bit with the y-wing. I gotta say, I wish I had waited to build these until after I got squadrons, actually being in a dogfight with these ships gives you a much better look at them than reference photos. Thank you very much, my goal here is of course to make them look like actual sets so it's very nice to hear that you think they'd make good sets.

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
Mandalorianknight replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
it's the wolfpack troopers. Some people are willing to pay disturbing prices for the p2 wolfpack, 212, and coruscant guard, so the prices of their respective sets skyrocket. Even in the states the cheapest complete (not even new) set of that is $125, so it sounds like you got a deal, especially if it was a sealed copy. -
I think he said it was a remodel of this build, so I'm not sure he could sell it without the original guy's permission. That said, he did make a lot of changes. It's a really good remodel, the greebling is amazing. I especially like the cannons.

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
Mandalorianknight replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Death watch troopers are so cheap on bricklink, I love it! I got, I think 8 for around $20 last year I believe. IMO the best set out of the ones you've mentioned is the AT-ST raider, but you can buy some tanks and sell off the ahsokas and troopers to get the tanks for about $2 a piece unless the prices have changed since I last checked, which is a pretty darn good deal. -
We don't know that, it turned out to be incorrect, as they were silhouettes from previous sets. That's true, though I still hope they can make some of these. I've always wanted to try my hand at a mon cala cruiser... That's true that there are many sequel sets waiting for release, I agree that they'll probably only do 1-2 for the next two years though, just because of how many were released while the films were coming out. I 100% agree about those sets that need re release. Even the B-wing, while it hasn't been too long since it's last set, is definitely due for an improvement.

You've been asking a few questions about hoth and moc-related things? Looking forwards to seeing what you're working on. It's going to be pretty painstaking any way you do it. Bricklink works pretty well, but it's still going to be pretty tough to get everything into an inventory.
