  1. Not an either/or, we could easily get a UCS one in a few years. Not too big of a correlation here. Neb-b isn't from the sequels? No idea. They also showed off a marvel set that would have been an SDCC exclusive too.
  2. Those are stacked 1x2x5 bricks. It can apparently hold the weight, but you so much as tap the table that thing's on and the snowspeeder with shatter onto the ground.
  3. Don't know where you heard this but it's fake. They aren't making another of those. July I think
  4. I agree. I can't stress enough how great it will be for kids to be able to get good models of the two most iconic SW ships for half the price it would otherwise cost them. This is just a SDCC exclusive, so I'm sure you're right. I'd say we'll probably get the gunship in 2021 and the nebbie in 2022. Not sure the bomber had enough support to warrant a set anytime soon. Nebbie looks great, I don't collect midi scale but I love the model. Anyone know how accurate scale-wise this would be next to either the system or UCS star destroyer?
  5. I don't own the part, but I'm 99.9% sure it should. That's a smart part choice for ephant mon by the way, let me know if you figure out how to make his face.
  6. The guy who made the render said it's just what he thinks it'll look like based on that fuzzy image you mentioned. I hope it's not going to look exactly like that, if they use that ball joint connection but leave the dark bluish gray ball joints in that color i'll be pretty upset.
  7. Thanks for putting that more eloquently.
  8. At the specific scale you mentioned, the midi-type scale of the vader's castle tie and bespin MBS's slave one, yes, it is a niche. I think the scale of the new TIE is pretty good, but the scale you're talking about is too small. Just because it can fit a minifigure in it doesn't make it minifigure scale. A slave one that small is fine in a bespin set, but if released on it's own it's definitely a niche.
  9. I made a moc for one recently and I think I came up with around 1300 parts. The problem with the bomber is that it's got the double cockpit, and unlike most ties they are cylindrical like the striker. I believe lego thinks the microfighters fill that niche...even if they're too small in reality. The problems stem from that most ships can't easily be made at that midi-scale if you want a figure to fit in a cockpit and be enclosed, unlike the microfighters where they just sort of sit on top.
  10. Lots of speculation about a star wars CMF, so I'll give it a shot. I'll try for a nice mix between eras, as well as between main characters and minor background characters. one thing to note is new molds are much more frequent, so I'll try to do one for at least every few figures. This also assumes we get beskar mando and gideon in a set eventually. 1. TPM: Padme (battle dress). Comes with new blaster mold. 2. AOTC: Wat Tambor : (would use a new head/breathing thingie mold) death star plans printed on 1x1 cylinder. 3. Clone wars: captain rex (p1): dual pistols 4. Clone wars/ROTS: Clone shiny (p2): blaster rifle. 5. ROTS: Anakin (jedi robes, no headset. Would use the old luke hair in reddish brown): lightsaber, action pieces like in the DC series 6. solo: Range trooper (with actual cloth for shoulder cloths and kama, better helmet print): blaster rifle 7. rebels: Ezra Bridger (seasons 3-4): Lightsaber, blaster 8. RO: Galen erso: death star plans. 9. ANH: snaggletooth (printed head): blaster, glass of brew. 10. ANH: Han solo (dual molded legs): blaster pistol, removable medal like on the figures in the olympics cmf. 11. ESB: Piett (dual molded legs): blaster, new mold for a vader hologram. 12. ROTJ: Boushh: thermal detonator and blaster 13. The mandalorian: fennec shand: (new molded helmet to swap out with hair), sniper rifle. 14. The mandalorian: The armorer : tools, dark pearl grey ingot piece for a beskar ingot. 15: resistance: Commander pyre: blaster 16. TFA: Jessica pava : blaster 17. TLJ: force projection luke: lightsaber 18. TROS: reborn palpatine: lightning pieces 19. The mandalorian (kinda): Trapper Wolf (dave filoni): cowboy hat. 20. Chase figure: Luke skywalker (concept art): lightsaber, blaster.
  11. Sorry to hear about the circumstances of your first boba fett toy. On the bright side, you've built up one heck of a collection. Now all you need is this one.
  12. I've seen people just get a few microfighters a few times (that's what I've done, too), but I agree that there need to be $20-ish star wars sets on shelves. Perhaps the set downsizings of the x-wing, TIE, and lambda will help with this. If they can make a formerly $90 x-wing at a $50 price point, they can make a $40 a wing at a $20 price point. I believe the current interest comes from speculation hasbro's license has changed, although I don't know how much is true and how much is rumor.
  13. I think he's just pointing out that they are selling at least one SW figure now, meaning the license may have changed. If I remember correctly there was a lot of speculation when that showed up on the site, I think some people have taken that and the lack of battle packs to mean a SW CMF might be soon. Which of course wouldn't be january 2021, I think the rumors are for looney toons or something to have that CMF slot.
  14. It's not a TIE outlander, so it will almost certainly not have gideon. The problem is that with the TIE bomber, the biggest part is the cockpit, not the wings. Based on this build, I'm guessing they were unable to make the cockpit much smaller.
  15. not to take away from this excellent tower and turn this into a "how to post images" thread, but I've found linking from bricksafe works well too. It's free, and you can upload high quality images
  16. @jdubbs confirmed the lambda is fake but the TIE is real. TIE looks great, cockpit's a bit big but other than that it's definitely of great quality, especially for only $40.
  17. Cool. Cockpit's a bit big, but still looks like a great set overall. Yes. The quality drop isn't nearly as bad as a 43% price drop would imply, honestly the only thing I notice is the cockpit's a bit big. Unless the figures are absolute garbage, this will be a great set.
  18. Looks amazing? Are you planning on redoing the rest of delta squad with printing?
  19. I'd also prefer a minifigure scale one, but I agree that it's unlikely. I think we'll see a gunship larger than minifigure scale with, say, 2 clone pilots, a clone trooper, and jedi bob.
  20. That's actually pretty smart, because it'd allow them to get the full bubble, unlike the previous sets.
  21. I mean the tower's great, but do you have any closer images of that ship? Seriously the tower is pretty good though. It's recognizably mandalorian architecture despite mandalore not really having any iconic buildings besides the throne room (or really just the interior), which is pretty impressive.
  22. interesting. The 2013 gunship was $120, so accounting for inflation around $133. This would suggest that the upcoming gunship will indeed be larger than playscale, as that's almost twice the price the 2013 gunship would go for today. agreed.
  23. But the y-wing was only $60, a respectable price for a starfighter/bomber. Compare that to x-wings and ties now routinely going for $80-90, and it makes sense that they might want to find ways to make them at lower prices.
  24. I've been resisting this as well. I have nowhere to put it, and I've spent so much on LSW this year already....but it's such a good set.
  25. maybe, but it'd likely break under the weight of a snowspeeder.
