  1. What an odd promo. Might be a nice design, but a strange choice nontheless.
  2. Yeah, but it's nice to know they're branching out into physical locations. If the "hilarious hidden surprise" is ejector-type seats like the previous cantinas, why do they even say it like that? The "surprise" of a play feature from smaller versions being in the larger version isn't all that impressive, and while it doesn't bother me that much it's probably pretty annoying to people who just want a display piece without play features extruding.
  3. I wonder what the interior of that smaller building looks like. The taller part appears to be a sort of pawn shop the jawas have from what I can see, which is pretty funny. I wonder if that's the entire thing, or if the part of the building with the sliding door is something different.
  4. Ground war based wave: Prequels. Microfighters: AT-AP ($9.99): 41st scout trooper Droid gunship ($9.99): battle droid AT-TE vs Hailfire droid ($19.99): Clone captain (p1) and geonosis battle droid. Battle packs: Clone legions ($14.99): GAR BARC build, comes with 2 p2 shinies, a p2 212th trooper, and a p2 shock trooper. Droid attack ($14.99): 4x battle droid, 2x super battle droid, 2x droideka, crab droid. Other sets: Geonosis clone troopers ($29.99): More accurately sized forwards command center, 3 p1 clone shinies, p1 clone sergeant, 2 geonosis battle droids. Battle of kashyyyk ($59.99): Snail tank, wookie hut, and ornithopter. comes with Yoda, a 41st trooper, 2 wookies, and 2 battle droids. Battle on geonosis ($69.99): Hailfire droid (more than twice the size of the 2015 set), small terrain build with some GAR barricades and a repeating cannon. Comes with a clone commander (p1), clone lieutenent (p1), clone trooper (p1), Pable-jill, 2x super battle droid, geonosis battle droid commander. AT-TE ($99.99): AT-TE build, similar to the 2013 one, but with minor updates, specifically to the hull. Comes with Captain Rex, 2x p2 332nd trooper, 2x at-te driver, Bo-Katan, 2x mauldalorian, gar saxon. MTT ($99.99): MTT in CIS colors, with 16x battle droid, 2x battle droid pilot, Anakin skywalker, and ARC jesse
  5. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3626cpb2617&idColor=1#T=S&C=1&O={"color":1,"iconly":0} I think it's pretty accurate.
  6. I agree, it could probably work with the old luke/han/ben hair. Well didn't you know? It's the eurobricks paradox. Suggestion, wishlisting, or customs/jokes of a set, figure, or part spontaneously generates that set into existence, with the original wishlist, custom, or joke becoming clear, solid evidence of that set's existence. You can increase the speed of the reaction by making the set based on something fans either really want, or really don't want.
  7. Yup. Figure designs get updated, that's how progression works. If you were expecting lego would never change the print from the 2013 501st trooper, that's on you.
  8. There was speculation he had a star destroyer since he's standing in his hologram in the show but then arrives in a TIE. Odds are this is hinting at it. Sears hasn't gotten any lego exclusives in a long time, if ever, and their company has been declining for awhile. Completely fake rumor...
  9. 2016 official set, no question. Easily the best AT-ST ever released. You can mod it to fit two pilots without too much difficulty, too.
  10. Not easily, unfortunately. It's only about 2-3 bricks tall, you could maybe get a bit of space for weapons, though. There are other areas you could get some more interior space out of, like the area where they put mando's gun in the unaltered set and even the cockpit itself if you switch the seating around. As-is you can easily fit the whole mando crew in the cockpit and main hold, including two figures and the child in the cockpit. I know, these minifigures all look so good! I'm glad the ithorian head is back, and garindan, the devaronian, and the new color for the trandoshan head are all great! I'm really conflicted here, the set is such a good set but I've already bought the crest and a fair amount of smaller sets, plus I want that AT-AT too...
  11. Which one, if I may ask?
  12. Yes. the colors for the snowspeeder are kind of debatable going off the OT footage alone, but every other piece of media, at least recently, shows them as white. The X-wing and lambda are white too, no question. I completely agree, so many of the origional TCW sets are vastly overrated, I think partially because people who grew up with them (or wishing they had them) as kids now look back on them with nostalgia lenses, and like you said, there haven't been new sets of some of these to illustrate the flaws of the older ones. Honestly I think the 2009 venator is pretty bad even for the standards of that time, and while the AT-OT and dropship is a nice concept for a set, the AT-OT itself is utter garbage. An AT-TE with dropship would work better, but nowadays that'd be a good $400-500.
  13. Maybe you're right, lego's not exactly the most canonically stressed brand. Make some more mos eisley buildings, throw in the obligatory sliding door, and then have the muftak with luke and biggs for $30-ish. Maybe throw in a sandtrooper too to add some conflict, unless the conflict is just a drunk muftak. Those are some seriously well-thought out MBS set ideas, I applaud the effort. I'd 100% buy the scarif one. The watto set @wesker and @Kit Figsto mentioned, along with a few MBS: Watto's junkyard ($29.99): Small shop build, like Obi-wan's but about half the depth, along with a small exterior junkyard. Comes with Anakin, Watto, Qui-gon, and a pit droid. Pentaki ($399.99): Massive, fully circled arena build with the balcony, gate, stands, and the three pillars in the center. Comes with buildable nexu, reek, acklay, orray, and a 300-400 piece midi-scale gunship that has room for one pilot and 1-2 figures in the main bay. The gate opens and there are some catacomb/tunnel details in the space behind/below the stands. Figures are Padme (torn outfit), Obi-wan, Anakin, Dooku, Nute Gunrey, Poggle, Jango, Sun Fac, Windu, Yoda, Pablo-jill, Kit fisto (updated head mold), clone pilot, 2x clone trooper, clone commander, 2x winged geonosian, geonosian picador, 2x super battle droid, 2x geonosis battle droid. Starkiller Base ($349.99): This would be built kind of like a slightly larger hemisphere of the death star set, with 2 levels each containing four areas, as well as a larger top with snowy terrain. The rooms on the bottom level are the area where phasma lowers the shields, the walkway where kylo kills han, a build for the superlaser itself and some controls around it, and a hanger area that extends to the higher level as well. The higher level has snoke's hologram's room with a brick-built snoke hologram, rey's cell, and a command center, with the fourth quadrant being a higher area of the hanger. (this is where rey climbs up in the film). The top level itself has snowy terrain and trees. There are midi-scale ships (here maybe 1.5x the size of their microfighters) of Poe's x-wing, a resistance x-wing, and a first order TIE. The figures included are Rey, Finn, Poe (pilot), Han, Chewie, Jessica Pava, BB-8, another BB unit, Kylo, Phasma, Hux, 2x first order stormtroopers, 2x first order officers, 2x first order snowtroopers, 2 first order technicians, and a first order TIE pilot.
  14. At least from my experience, I'd go even further; lego star wars is more popular than the action figures nowadays. My neighbors kids all have legos, but I don't believe they have action figures. When I was younger, all my friends had the lego star wars sets, but only one or two had the action figures. Looking at the shelves supports this too. The lego star wars sets have about a quarter aisle at my target, the action figures usually have a few pegs next to the masks and toy sabers. A big part of this might be how the figures are sold nowadays: with the good ones being $20 each, it really restricts a kid's selection. Compare this to legos, where you can currently get four clones, two droids, and two vehicles for $30. (of course smaller, and with a bit less articulation). Built the bespin duel and razor crest, and I have to say they both exceeded my expectations. The razor crest is a solid build structurally and a pretty dang large ship, and it looks much better in person than it does in images. The interior is certainly bare and there are a few other areas begging to be modded, but overall it's well worth the price. A few more random things: I can definitely see how it was originally a gunship in-universe, I have a slight urge to try and make a concept build for what it could have originally looked like. There's no way that the escape pod is from canon, right? I know the alien in the first episode mentions one, but there's no way it's where it is on the build. As for the bespin duel, I honestly believe it's one of the greatest lego sets of all time, certainly the greatest one under $100, and seriously hope that lego realizes this and makes more sets in it's vein.
  15. Dang, I knew the empire was messed up, but eating twi'leks and trandoshans, both recognized sentient species? Great MOC, it works well enough as just a funny concept but you went and made it not only a great build, but something that almost looks canon? I especially like the beast-like head of the speeder truck, as well as how you made the repulsorlifts.
  16. I'll be buying an underground bunker in new zealand to store the baby yoda fig. Similar thing here. Getting another anakin's interceptor doesn't annoy me too much as it's a hero ship and it's been 6 years. But the constant landspeeders and snowspeeders are annoying, like you said. @jdubbs I believe said that the april 2021 wave won't be system sets, which would lead to the idea that the helmets would come back. I agree. We definitely don't need massive onslaughts of sets, and smaller selections can be good because we can get everything we want. I would say that the x-wings, snowspeeders, and TIE fighters need to be remade every few years so kids can get them, but you're right in that the snowspeeder and x-wings at least are new-constant. The tie fighter is a bit different, as unlike x-wings TIES have a huge amount of design variance, so it makes sense that we'd have so many.
  17. Shame. I wonder if the non-system sets are like a "series 2" for the helmets, or something else. From what i've seen there is literally no info besides that it's moff gideon's tie and $70, which makes me think it's fake. jdubbs says it's not in the january or april waves unless it's a retail exclusive or something. The black katana piece from ninja turtles, ninjago, etc works much better than the black 4l bar for a lightsaber. only problem is the hilt is black too, but at least you've got the right shape. Similar boat here, my copy of the razor crest just arrived and my entire family has each declared their intentions to steal the baby yoda figure.
  18. UCS Nien Numb statue confirmed. the three niens mean it will be three times as large as the UCS falcon. Are you saying that his TIE won't be in the spring wave either, or that there just aren't any waves between january and august/september?
  19. Han hair was made a few years before solo, wasn't it? Aside from that you're right, unless you want to include the new hood that was more of a saga-generic part. It makes sense though, ST and Rogue One needed new molds more, being new films, and there's not really much more that the OT needs in terms of molds. Honestly most of their OT mold updates haven't been well received. Vader, Stormtrooper, and chewie all had some backlash, I think. And of course the rebel pilot helmet (I like the "helmet briefly known as rebel helmet", it can go alongside "set formerly known as razor crest") that was just objectively bad, to the point that the scrapped it after one set. Yup! The duels and $20-30 location sets have been great with this. The entire main cast of each trilogy has been in a $10-30 set within the last 3 years. I'm 99% sure it's the 5-point crystal in that image, though I have no idea why it's there. As with every time I talk about the crystal/hologram, I'll once again posit the idea that it's stormtroopers on crystal spice.
  20. Good idea, I was planning on doing that, but I couldn't figure out how to differentiate the pilots. As you'll see, I did take your advice for this next starfighter moc. A few minor updates: First off, the smallest MOC I've ever made, more of a joke MOC really. It's kind of an alternate promo for the Lego Star Wars: the skywalker saga game, because look, I love milk mustache luke, it's a funny figure to make, but i don't get why they didn't do a promo for something from the games themselves. So here it is: Rebel Friend and Minikit (Promo), 38 pieces So, it's a polybag based on some elements exclusive to the lego games. There's the classic minikit, which being made out of legos in the game itself wasn't exactly difficult to make. There's also a crate filled with studs, the currency in the games, in the correct denominations (silver=10,gold=100,blue=1000,purple=10000), and the figure is lego's character created for the games, Rebel friend himself. He of course has the classic megaphone blaster. Alright, here's the actual set, though again a minor one. Vanguard Squadron A-wing Starfighter ($34.99), 441 pieces "Take to the skies with the Vanguard Squadron A-wing Starfighter! Place the pilot in the cockpit, rotate the cannons and fight the empire! This Star Wars set includes the iconic A-wing starfighter in the colors from the Star Wars: Squadrons video game. The set's features include an opening cockpit, and rotating blasters, as well as retracting landing gear. Included in the set are a stormtrooper, two A-wing pilots, and Lindon Javes. So first off, I want to make very clear that the engine design is 100% copied from the 2017 model. There's no way to make the engine I could think of any better than the official lego one. Other than that, everything else is different. Now, the biggest thing for me was changing the "wings". Lego's always done such a clunky job on the A-wing's wings, that really doesn't get the sleekness and shape across. I spent hours on a very complicated ball-join solution...and then scrapped it entirely and found a much more simple one. I think there's room for improvement, and I plan on coming back to this, but I think as is I've at least got the sleekness down. The coloration is based on this image of what I believe to be the default a-wing skin for vanguard squadron in the game. This was done to differentiate it from the traditional lego a-wing. The cockpit contains room for the pilot to stash his pistol, as well as some controls. One minor thing is the spring shooters aren't there, because A-wings only contain the wingtip cannons and the spring shooters don't fit in there. As for the figures, the stormtrooper is just kinda there, to provide an enemy for the a-wing. The pilots, of course, would have the a-wing pilot helmets, not x-wing ones, they're just like that because stud.io doesn't have the a-wing ones. The one in the orange x-wing jumpsuit is in the trailer as the a-wing pilot, which might be a canonical inconsistency but since it's in the game I kept it. The final figure is the "generic good guy officer" the past few a-wing sets have had, in this case again from the game, Lindon Javis. I'm pretty proud of my wing design here, this is the first moc I made I'm 100% bricklinking the parts for. What do you guys think? Let me know any suggestions or comments you have!
  21. I totally get it, it feels like it should be a hologram. It makes sense for the sandtroopers to have a hologram, but not a random crystal....unless it's as I thought and they're doing spice. GARINDAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *Excited Kubaz noises* Yeah, I agree here. Expecting a set to not include the main characters is something you'd think would be parody or sarcasm, it's just so unrealistic. Really? Is this a joke? This set includes 7 characters never before seen in lego, SEVEN, in a single set! Don't complain about repeat figs or not getting more new ones. Beru isn't even in these scenes... And you solve one of your own complaints here. Getting a "slightly different print for a figure whose print was already perfect" is good. it's slightly different because there isn't much room to improve.
  22. Ok, some people post instructions, that doesn't mean everyone has to. It's the designer's choice, they shouldn't be made to give up their designs just to please some rude fans. There's no reason to keep whining about it. He's already responded, you continuing to complain that you want for free something he spent a ton of time working on isn't going to change his mind...
  23. I don't know if we'd ever get Tosche Station, as I believe we only ever see it in a deleted scene, and the figures would just be farmboy luke alongside his tatooine friends, all plain clothed humans, who aren't the most interesting to lego's target audience. But Wattos' shop as a $25-30 set, maybe with anakin, watto, Qui-gon and a pit droid would work super well and sounds just like something lego would make.
  24. The old tried and true game of telephone. I'm guessing someone said they wished there would be a shuttle remake, and it snowballed into a new set "leak", as things so often do. Hoooolllllyyyy cow, this set is b-e-a-utiful! This is, I believe, the first time that lego has attempted an actual building from star wars on this scale with an exterior (so not counting the death star or cloud city which are literally just interior rooms.) They really did a good job, the detail and architecture are great. If anything, that little side building looks even better than the cantina itself. I wonder if there's anything specific there or just random homes. The figures are great too! All the main cast is of course there, that's fine, nothing new. The 3 bith are back, which is great, as is the inclusion of a few sandtroopers. Wuher, greedo, and a jawa are all fine, but the new characters are where the set really excels. The ithorian, chandra-fan, devorian, and..is that a givin? This is amazing! Only a few small nitpicks: Greedo really needs arm printing, and the inclusion of multiple landspeeders is somewhat annoying. You're telling me we can't get a second tie bomber after 17 years, but there can be two of that ufo-looking thing within 3 years? really?. A brick-built ronto would have been a more worthy inclusion, especially considering they felt the need to add a jawa. I also would have preferred a brick-built dewback, but people seem to prefer it, and it's not too annoying. All really minor things, anyway, the set looks great. Even if the interior is utter garbage, it'll still be one of the best sets of all time IMO. That "hologram" is the 5-point crystal piece, I'm not sure why it's there. Perhaps the stormtroopers have been dipping spice? For some reason I've just received an email that my order of the razor crest has shipped with an easter promo? and some Lamborghini promo was cancelled, or something?
  25. Like TSFKATRC? I'm not so sure either. If it is real, it looks great, but there aren't any new molds, and the prints aren't in focus enough to see if they're new or not.
