  1. This looks nice, but it doesn't really strike me as Kaliphlin or even Historica at all. The water is nice though (However it's not drink-able )
  2. Sweet build! It's great to see more Nocturnus action--and the werewolves seem to have been building a lot during their time in the shadows! Great job!
  3. Beautiful waterfall! I guess Kaliphlin may have something better than Nocturnus has--but we are better at everything else! Anyways, I love the build, and I really like the small rock "platforms" that extend from the sides of the cliff--they are just asking for a sleeping spot!
  4. Actually, in the overall picture, Wayne Manor is very minor. I mean its really just there to keep up Bruce Wayne's persona, and not much else. But I see the biggest problem being the lack of build and play features. The examples you provided don't account for much, and its not like they could just tack on flick fire missiles (Though I'm sure they'd try!). And on top of that in most of those examples more significant scenes then take place in the Batcave, not the manor. As for Stark Tower (Which I don't think will happen simply because the Avengers movie wave is long over), it offers far more play features then the manor ever would. Heck, almost all of the Avenger characters have their own scene there--Loki battles Iron Man, Hulk, and Thor there, plus it's the source of the Cosmic Cude doorway. Yes Lego sets are 100% aimed at kids, however Wayne Manor is not a set a kid would play with. It's likely at first they would say "wow! Wayne Manor!" But it's not then hard to believe they would say "Where's the Batcave?" The manor by itself is really nothing, and there would not be any good play features other then have Alfred read the mail and build Bruce Wayne's bed so he can sleep during the day. Wayne Manor cannot compare to sets such as Hogwarts or Helms deep either--as those two examples both hold significance importance in their respective franchises as well as offer tons of memorable (from the films/books) play features. Really, I just think Wayne Manor is something that could easily be left out and not missed by most kids. I truly believe we will see a Watchtower set at some point in the near future, and we many not have to wait for the JL movie (if that ever happens, but that's a different problem) it's very notable and recognizable, and it appears in basically every JLA thing kids would know of. I'm sure many kids know about the Watchtower too, even if you say the JLA show is too old (though the scenes you pointed out for the Manor set, with the exception of Batman Begins, are far, far older then the JLA show). Anyways, I do at some point expect the Watchtower set, among other things (come on Flash!), but I cannot at all say the same for the passable Wayne Manor.
  5. I don't see any need for a Wayne Manor at all. I mean, it's not like anything goes on there--it's the batcave where Batman and family hang out. Wayne Manor is notable yes, but there are far better locations in the DC universe that are notable and actively used. I mean I would rather take a Watchtower build over Wayne Manor any day.
  6. Hahaha! It also shows up in Joker's Millions! (Don't quote B:TAS to me! I'm the master! ) Either way, while I think it's a strange thing it does make your Arkham unique (I've not seen it in other Arkham builds). And I guess the whole concept of the room does depend on the style of the villains and how dangerous they are portrayed (It works for the B:TAS villains, probably wouldn’t work for the Arkham Asylum/City style villains).
  7. Very nice add on! Arkham is much larger now, and it looks amazing. I love all the new cells and while I find the Privilage room a bit out there (It's easy enough for people to break out of Arkham!), I most of all love Harley's secret room! Great job!
  8. Looks very nice! I love the rock-work behind the trees (Which also look good), and the frogs and birds stand out nicely (I'll have to remember not to lick them if I'm in the area). I am however waiting to see a desert area--because I think we all know you can't show Kaliphlin without the image everyone actually thinks of when they hear Kaliphlin.
  9. I would like to join! 1. I've only played (And passed/but was lynched) as Simone in the Aperture Academy Mafia School 2. Yes I will have time to play for that period 3. I don't really have one since I'm still new at this, so I guess by defult it's Simone
  10. This looks awesome! It's a very funny trailer, and I love the concept so far (From what I can make out--it's a teaser after all!); and the voice cast is amazing, they have some big listers in there--and Morgan Freeman! Now the voice of Movie God and Lego God! On a related note, I think we could expect sets based on the film next year too!
  11. Interesting. It's an ok polybag, but I think I'm getting sick of the same red suit Robin in every set; this would have been a good opportunity to give a new suit print.
  12. These are amazing! I most of all love Bane's, as it's a cute version of his actual vehicle (In that god awful set)! All of them are great--and I can't wait to see more!
  13. Lovely tower! And the orange tree looks amazing too! Though I guess it's all downhill from here. Hehehehe (It's a southern guild joke you see!)
  14. Hahaha! Nice--I love the two stacked on top of each other--with more or less the same outcome! Great job!
  15. Oooh! That was a good film! In relation to the movie and the Lego sets: well I have to be honest Lego did an amazing job! Unlike the very sketchy (at best) Iron Man 3 sets, the MoS ones are right on the mark. The Black Smallville battle set is very accurate and the dropship is really only scaled down from the film version (Hardy too is very accurate). The Black Zero escape is very good too, though the turret thing is a bit of added stuff. And metropolis is nice too, however I never spotted that yellow car! Probably the most “off” thing of the sets is Zod’s armor, since Lego, unfortunately in an obvious error made it impossible to use hair and the chest piece. Zod (Unlike Faora who does) rarely wears his helmet (Which is generally translucent in the film rather than solid), and I just wish you could use the armor and the hair. On a related note, I still don’t know who Tor-an is, and who he was in the film. Otherwise, the sets are very accurate (Thankfully!)
  16. Wow, tis one epic a wedding! I found my Sir Tercel, but I think Lord Falco will be laying down some punishment on him--fraternizing with non-Falcons is unacceptable! Anyways, amazing build and collection of figures. There's so much going on, and the build itself is very large and magnificent--this must be the most memorable of weddings in Historica history! (Unless you know, something with more bloodshed comes hereafter).
  17. That's unnecessary. Why are Kaliphlins posting this everywhere? We know it's going on, so I don't know why we need “to know it” on every form in Historica. And keep yer Kaliphlin ads out of Nocturnus! We like our inactivity!
  18. Thanks everyone! And yes--it is a very fun build, so everyone should at least try it once! I don't think they are not allowed, but the contest put large emphisis on the figures alone. I'm the only entry for the category so far, so there could be some bricks showing up later. I do know however that they were very clear on only wanting one stud as a base and that it could not be connected to anything at all (Which makes the balance so important!)
  19. King of the Hill Knights, Barbarians, Peasants and Wizards clash to become King of the Hill This is an entry into the Flickr group Lego War’s The Castle Battle Contest, Category 3: Single Stud Battle! Category 3: “Single Stud Battle” How many minifigs can you have battling (and balancing) over one stud of space? Based on a similar contest from times past, this category will test your creative balancing skills to the limit! Hahaha! This is definitely the most enjoyable build I’ve had in a while! Although, I must say—I did expect it to be far more challenging then it turned out to be! I utilized shields as a way to balance more and more figures, as well as having various figures just hanging on for dear life! I also greatly focused on the first figure since he would be holding up everything, and I gave him a shield and a flag pole on his back to attach more peoples. The horse was something I thought to put in about halfway through the build, and I was surprised to see I was able to balance him—in fact, the horse is actually the only part of the build not attached stud wise to any other part—so he’s basically a free floating structure. So, in the end, I’m very happy with my entry, and my new found balancing skills! Enjoy ~Nemo
  20. Wow. That's bad. I'll see if I can find out where this change came from. Edit: I discovered the admin is someone named "Mikel Kalores". I don't know who the person is, but they seem to be making many changes to the wiki today, however I don't know why he changed the overall color of the wiki site. Edit, Edit: Ok, the admin is Masa of Kaliphlin though I don't know why he changed the site color all together.
  21. I think it would be best to not have any new characters at all--even if they were obscure ones. These give aways should only be variations of characters we already have, so as to anger the least amount of people, while still giving the people who attend the events something special.
  22. Falcons in the Badlands Black Falcon Freebuild The Siccus Badlands; while the southernmost guild is mostly a desert, it admittedly is more hospitable, and greatly more prosperous, than the horrendous conditions that plague the eastern guild; the home of the “Black” Falcons. It is here we find two lone Falcons, who cast out for their crest’s deeds 100 years ago, are now forced to sneak into trade hubs in disguise. They are on a quest from their lord, Fendrel Falco, to smuggle back food that the overworked laborers now demand. They are not alone however, for suspicious eyes watch them from a distance… Come…look, another vendor…an old one… Welcome! Welcome! Come see, see! I have apples, wine, cabbage! Bread of course—and carrots! Rare they are in this region! Maps do you need? I have many! The second Falcon whispers… “Quickly…there are eyes upon us…” The first Falcon interrupts the vendor, “We will take all the bread, and that jug of wine. Will this cover it?” The Falcon holds out two large coins; but they are different coins than normal ones; they lack the glimmering flare of true gold darics. The old vendor pauses, and looks at the coins, and then begins to question the two, “What are these? These are not gold. You may see the age on my face, but my mind is not foolish enough to take subpar metals!” With the vendor alarmed, and beginning to make a scene, the two Falcons take flight, and quickly leave the market area to the safety of an alleyway; but they are perused by the eyes. Clear to their pursuer, the Falcons stop in the alleyway, and began to discuss openly, “What will we do now?! That was the last vendor in the city—and all of them discovered the coins. It must be true those of Kaliphlin know wealth more than others. What will we tell Falco?!" “We will tell him to make meat for the laborers! We cannot get any food from these suspicious vendors…and those eyes following us…we best leave the city immediately and return to Falhaven.” -------------------------------------- I'm rather happy with this build! I needed a bit of a break after working of Falhaven, so I figured it would be nice to visit the construction style of another guild. Kaliphlin has many different styles but I decided to go more colorful Arabic then generic medieval. This build is not located in a specific city (Unless those of Kaliphlin can find a place for it—since I made it more or less generic K.), and basically I just wanted to make a market place (Which is in stark contrast to the “market” of Port Wrath!), and utilize the food pieces and colors I have that will never show up in Nocturnus. On a final note, I also thought it would be cool to have a vendor selling crystal balls! Enjoy ~Nemo
  23. Hahaha! "First totally unprovoked freebuild for GoH" Do you have to be provoked to build? Anyways, it looks great! I love the use of the period time game, and the room itself looks perfect!
  24. Definitely just make a new topic. The old one may be locked, but more importantly it's better to just make a new topic then bring back a really old one.
