[REVIEW] 76009 Superman: Black Zero Escape
Captain Nemo replied to Plissken's topic in LEGO Licensed
Ohhh...ok. Well that sucks. Very bad design on Lego's part then. -
Thanks everyone! I do plan on making more ones; and I really want to make Barad-dûr but not without the new Palantír head piece from the new LotR line for Sauron's eye! I may also make like Helms deep or Minas Tirith and stuff.

[REVIEW] 76009 Superman: Black Zero Escape
Captain Nemo replied to Plissken's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for the review! I personally like this set, as well as the other ones, so I'll be getting this. I like the look of the ship, and while I wish that in some way it could hook up to the larger "mother ship", I think it's good either way. I am interested still however to see what Zod looks like with only the torso armor on without the helmet. Could you take a picture of that? -
Smaug the Magnificent Micro He loves Gold! I have to say this is the smallest Smaug I’ve ever seen or built (Heh heh). Anyways I wish so much that I could make a massive Smaug, however my gold hoards are rather low for that, so I settled with Micro. Although don’t you call my micro hoard puny—those coins are as big as 12 micro hobbits! This works quite well for another Middle Earth Micro like my Orthanc. Smaug himself was quite a challenge to make at this scale, but I settled with some piles of red bricks to give the impression of him. In all actuality he’s only made from two red minifigure hands, two red plums, and a red snake. And yes, it was a painful process to pile up those coins and then place a dragon on it. Enjoy! ~Nemo

Harriet Slutter Mafia sign-ups
Captain Nemo replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I will apply: Your past Mafia experience I was lynched out of Aperture Academy because people hated my beauty Your ability to focus on the game over the next 32 days I for sure can focus for 5 minutes. 32 days shouldn't be a problem. Will you be able to keep up with 20 hour NA deadlines? What's NA? Yes. Your favorite Mafia moment Hah, when everyone bandwagon-ed me on falsified information, and then seeing their confusion at my township the following morning (I was watching as a ghost you see). Tell me why you think Vanilla Townies are important or how they are most useful Gotta say...I'm a chocolate fan. (6 steps in a Mafia application?) Give me your word that you'll participate in whatever crazy concoction I've doctored to avoid the meta-gaming. It will take everyone's cooperation and to operate on their honor. Crazy? You sir are talking to the craziest captain on the 8 seas!- 74 replies

Trial A recreation of the episode “Trial”, from Batman: The Animated Series. Ah, Trial. This is one of my favorite episodes from Batman the Animated Series. It’s similar to Almost Got 'Im in regards to the villains playing off each other, and I think that’s one of the best parts of the episode(s). I have to say I was a bit nervous building this since I didn’t know if I’d have enough 2x2 Dark tan tiles—turns out I do! With two to spare! Enjoy ~Nemo

Game of Feathers It’s like Game of Thrones. You know the Iron Throne…but with Feathers. I recently, finally, acquired some Black Flacon minifigures (5). I love classic Lego pieces, and this is the first time I’ve gotten some nice old Castle figures. Anyways, I felt that the Black Flacons needed their own throne—but with their style of course! Hence the Feather Throne—in stark contrast to the Iron Throne—this is the most comfortable chair in the world. Enjoy! ~Nemo

Heart of Ice Batman Animated Series This is the second longer series of creations I’ve made based off an episode from Batman: The Animated Series, the award winning episode “Heart of Ice”. This took significantly longer then Almost Got ‘Im, though that’s totally due to my laziness. Anyways, enjoy the creations that depict the new origins of Mr. Freeze—which we all now can’t live without! 1) Title This is how I will always remember you. Surrounded by winter. Forever young. Forever beautiful. Rest well my love. The monster who took you from me will soon learn that revenge is a dish best served cold... 2) That's Mr. Freeze to You Load those canisters…hurry! Are you done? All set…uhh…ahhh! The Batman! Freeze! That’s Mr. Freeze to you! 3) Nora My God! Yes. It would move me to tears, if I still had tears to shed. 4) Warm Hand to Hold The snow is beautiful, don't you think? Clean, uncompromising... And Cold. Like the swift hand of vengeance. I saw what happened to your wife…I’m sorry. I'm beyond emotions. They've been frozen dead in me. That suit you wear, a result of the coolant? Very good, a detective to the last. I can no longer survive outside a sub-zero environment. Tonight, I mean to pay back the man who ruined my life... our lives. Even if you have to kill everyone in the building to do it? Think of it, Batman. To never again walk on a summer's day with the hot wind in your face and a warm hand to hold. Oh yes, I'd kill for that! 5) Icy Revenge Stop... Please... I beg you! You beg? In my nightmares I see my Nora behind the glass begging to me with frozen eyes. How I've longed to see that look frozen on you! 6) Warm Hand Awaits I failed you. I wish there were another way for me to say it. I cannot. I can only beg your forgiveness, and pray you hear me somehow, someplace... someplace where a warm hand waits for mine. --- Enjoy ~Nemo

Ameribricks: Shocking News Here
Captain Nemo replied to Shadows's topic in Forum Information and Help
That is really backwards. Don’t be mad at that the members (American ones offended by your stereotypes, and the stereotypes added by other members) because they didn’t “get your joke”. It was not funny to everyone, and now I also don’t think it’s funny that your now reprimanding those who thought it was not funny. Way not cool, and very disrespectful to your membership. -
Wonder Woman vs. Cheetah Deep in the Jungles of Themyscira, our heroine Wonder Woman comes under surprise attack from her old enemy the Cheetah! I had to make something for that Cheetah figure (Below) I made! I’m rather happy with this small jungle creation, and it’s a bit out of the norm for me since there’s far more studs then I’m use to! Enjoy! ~Nemo

The Legion of Doom: Complete The Legion of Doom, from Challenge of the Super Friends created in Minifigure form. Gotta say this took months to put together; but it was well worth it! There’s a variety of Custom and Purist figures. Brainiac is a Custom Printed figure by Green Pea Toys. Names (From Left): Bottom: Solomon Grundy, Cheetah (Custom), Brainiac (Green Pea Toys), Lex Luthor, Scarecrow, Black Manta Middle: Giganta, Toyman, Riddler, Captain Cold (Custom) Top: Gorilla Grodd, Sinestro (Custom), Bizarro Custom Made Figures: Enjoy ~Nemo

Galactus from Marvel comics
Captain Nemo replied to Omicron's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Ah! That's a very nice custom! I never would have thought of that choice, but it works very very well! I could really see Lego using that head piece for an offical one. Great job!- 10 replies

Review: 76007 Iron Man: Malibu Mansion Attack
Captain Nemo replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
No theres no holes or anything. That would be nice, but I feel like this is a one off set. Plus, from the trailers, it looks like this house is not going to be around much longer anyways--and Lego does not seem to want to make sets based off the previous movies--so I think this is the best mansion we'll get. -
Welcome to Ameribricks.com - Major Changes Coming!
Captain Nemo replied to Shadows's topic in Forum Information and Help
Well the post about the changes was put up on the 31st, not the 1st. And it's about time for me to go to sleep--so that's about to be 4 days for me. Anyways, regardless of the day, my thoughts on the change stand; that it's bad. -
Welcome to Ameribricks.com - Major Changes Coming!
Captain Nemo replied to Shadows's topic in Forum Information and Help
Gotta say, I don't like this. It seemed like a joke at first, but it's been a few days and nothing has changed (Well except you know that one thing...where everything changed). I will say that if it is a joke, then you "fooled" me (and others), but at least I get the Eurobricks back I wanted. And in all honesty, I do find the banner a bit insulting (Though that may be too strong of a word). To me (An American), it does come off like it's making fun of Americans. I could see this both alienating Americans who think this is about making fun of them and alienating Non-Americans who now see this as intentionally excluding them. Also the colors hurt my eyes...they hurt almost as much as having to accept change! Change it back! Or I go...back…solely to Flickr? (Er something!—someone make a better chant, quickly!) -

Purist Giganta for my Legion of Doom.

Thanks! I love to use those trans-antenna pieces whenever possible! Thanks! I think the angle of the pic helps give it a "high up" feel--well that and the angle of the build! Thanks! I have lots of stuff I want to do, but nothing is totally locked down now. I'm going to be finishing up my Heart of Ice creations (That I started posting on my Flickr) and post them here, and I've got some Legion of Doom builds in mind too. In terms of villain battles, I have wanted to do Mirror Master for a long time, but it's anyone's game at this point! Thanks! Thanks! Yes only a small part of this is the camera angle, as you are correct that it's really the angle of the bridge that gives off the cool effect! Thanks! I like Hush as a character too (Though actually not his main graphic novel--since I feel it's just a rouges gallery cameo event), and I'm very happy with the Hush minifigure from Christos Customs; it's top notch. Thanks! I'm happy to see you builds DC Mocs too! We can never have enough of those! Thanks! --- And thanks everyone again!

Batman vs. Hush High above Gotham River (Well not for long!) Batman battles the mysterious villain Hush, with Gordon in quick pursuit. Will the Dark Knight discover the identity of this secretive adversary before it’s too late for the both of them?! Custom Hush figure by Christos Customs Enjoy ~Nemo

MOC Series: The Legion of Doom I love the Legion of Doom! Personally I think they’re one of the coolest DC organizations and one of the most underrated and underused ones out there. While most notable for its appearance in Challenge of the Super Friends series, it also appeared (Though not in name the behest of DC comics themselves) in Justice League Unlimited series two—which my builds are mainly based off of. Anyways after that short history lesson we get to the important part—the Legion itself. I love the legion, and it’s many members, and the Darth Vader shaped building, but rarely seen are the actual rooms within their headquarters. That’s the point of this build series, to see where those villains actually live and hang out when not being (totally) villainous. I have a chunk of rooms done now, but will add more in this thread when they are built. So enjoy the progress and the Legion of Doom and its rooms grow! (Click on the picture to find out more information on said room) -------- "The Legion of Lunch Room" The Legion’s Lunchroom; where villainous villains come to feast during the hours of 12:00 to 1:00, and again at 6:00 to 8:00. Closed on Sundays. ----- "Meanwhile in the Men's Bathroom..." Ahem, are you going to wash your hands? …No, 'cause I'm evil. ----- "Grodd's Office" ----- "Luthor's Office" ----- "Archery Room" ----- Enjoy--and more to come! ~Nemo

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Captain Nemo replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Oh thank god they changed out Luthor's head! Fora looks much, much better this time around. Now I just hope we can get some views of the figures with just the torso section of the helmet, since I'm very interested in how that will look without the face covering. -
Skyfall: The Rats Based on the first scene in the James Bond film Skyfall that introduces the main villain, Raoul Silva. “Hello, James. Welcome. Do you like the island? My grandmother had an island. Nothing to boast of. You could walk around it in an hour, but still it was, it was a paradise for us. One summer, we went for a visit and discovered the place had been infested with rats. They'd come on a fishing boat and gorged themselves on coconut. So how do you get rats off an island? Hmm? My grandmother showed me. We buried an oil drum and hinged the lid. Then we wired coconut to the lid as bait and the rats would come for the coconut and... plink plink plink plink plink…they would fall into the drum. And after a month, you have trapped all the rats, but what do you do then? Throw the drum into the ocean? Burn it? No. You just leave it and they begin to get hungry. And one by one... …they start eating each other until there are only two left. The two survivors. And then what? Do you kill them? No. You take them and release them into the trees, but now they don't eat coconut anymore. Now, they only eat rat. You have changed their nature. The two survivors. This is what she made us.” ~Raoul Silva Enjoy ~Nemo
