Hah, so did you make the plants and then decided to make a castle to go with them? Looks great! I love the angle and changing height of the wall. Great job!

[MOC] Damian Wayne's Pride [Battle of the Robins]
Captain Nemo replied to becauseBATMAN's topic in LEGO Licensed
This looks great! I love the busted up glass, and the slightly custom face on Robin (The good one!) is perfect for the scene! Great Job! -
For being young, these are very good! Some look fairly advanced (Like Venom), but there's still signs of a child with bricks, like Superman's S.

I've finished my rather humble build for this challenge "Fortifying Falhaven"

Fortifying Falhaven Master Architect Challenge Entry Black Falcons of Nocturnus Dearest Kestrel, I write to you now, my love, to inform you of our growing nest... Sir Tercel has served me well, and has returned just recently from Port Wrath with men and supplies; to which we now construct Falhaven. We are deep now within the old forest by the road; but I’ll ensure there’s a path that can hold your beloved carriage. I know you ask, as always, but until Falhaven is complete we cannot meet. I cannot risk you or the children leaving your safe nest to fly into the wild without Falhaven holding power for us. Soon you will have the power you wish, but soon takes time. Falhaven is only early in its construction, but the Minotaur and Cyclops labor yields quick results. We’ve started construction of a great tower that will look far over the forests, a perch for a Lord and Lady. It will be a simple fortress of course, but the forces that flow from it will be strong. I will soon be sending Sir Tercel to flight once more, as I see the need for alliances, and more specific supplies for the future. In the meantime, while you wait, keep the children close. I suspect treachery from the surrounding guilds, and change can only come from that dark wizard. Rest assured though, we will have our revenge. Fendrel ----------- Enjoy ~Nemo

Thanks! I can't wait to work on the fortress! I've started a bit, but I'm not sure if I like what it looks like so far (Even though it's mostly terrain right now), as it's mostly green grassy then dark red evil. I think I'll have to get more dark red leaves. And we will be an intimidating army...though maybe a small one!

Oooh! Amazing castle! It looks great, and it's very good for your first larger build. I do think that maybe some more plants or something (Like flags maybe) should be placed on or in front of the center outer wall, since it does look a bit flat from a front of view, but otherwise it's perfect!

Some Nocturnians travelling in the night
Captain Nemo replied to Maxim I's topic in Guilds of Historica
Is this part of a larger story? Anyways--it looks great, and I like the color swap concept with the Amazon. I think the Christmas Maul is a bit out of place but the name brick you have makes up for it! Great job!- 12 replies

Review: 79005 Wizard Battle
Captain Nemo replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Uhh! Just going to finish my review of this! Either way, it's a nice set. and you get a good amount for the price. -
To the Forest Nocturnus Falcon Free-build On the outskirts of Port Wrath, we find our trio of Falcons leading their newly acquired force back to the Old Forest Road… Sir Tercel leads from his steed, as the force moves through the dark night of Nocturnus. No time can be spared now, as Fendrel requests their immediate return with the forces…and new the supplies they now carry. Stone, large cut blocks of rock now travel with the new force of Falcons. Ordered by Fendrel, the small army picked up a large supply of bricks from traders at Port Wrath. The lord demanded that a fortress was to be constructed at the same time Tercel’s mission began; and now the laborers require more material. They march slower now, but more determined; destined for the Old Forest Road, and the wood nearby, to where the fortress grows high...as does the army of the Falcons. Enjoy ~Nemo

Nocturnus Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Captain Nemo replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Guilds of Historica
They use to be used more by an old member; and actually are varied. Here's a good link tons of example Drow figures: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=60476 -
We know the stand of some of our guild, and we know their stand is weak--they wish to be subjugated. The Falcons are against them and their weak leader, so we must do what we think is right for the guild's interests. Alliances? We'll need some, but we'll build our army as well. And if that is not enough, then we will make alliances all will fear far more than your dust mummies. Watch the East, for we will not be forgotten.

Thanks for the info on the History. It is hard to see what is canon and what is just added, which is what I was confused about--since previously I must have completely missed the part about Kaligem. On the wiki subject, my point about Kaliphlin pages was that it's good they are there, but the problem is a lot of the Kaliphlin pages are basically saying the same thing. Like there's a page on Kaliphlin notable locations and a page on Kaliphlin locations--ergo basically the same thing, so they should be on the same page. Also a similar situation with people, where there's a Kaliphlin page on important peoples, then a people's of Kaliphlin page. Really, right now, I just want to really edit the wiki from what we have--so it's then easier to add more pages later (Also in a uniform format). We have a good amount now, but a chunk of the pages are basically empty--and we need to fill those up. -
What?! Varlyrio--the "is it/isn't it a guild" guild? You fear them? Above Nocturnus?! I say it here for you uptight Kaliphlin to hear--there will come a day, maybe not today, nor tomorrow, but soon; there will come a time when you will submit to the power of Nocturnus! And at that time we will pull you from your cushy lair and expose you as the people you truly are--and we of Nocturnus will rule the day and Historica!

I don't remember seeing any relation between pre-Kaliphlin and the creation of Cedrica in the Historica History. Though looking on it now, I didn't realize how much Kaliphlin is added in to it; although the history seen on the wiki is basically the Kaliphlin version of history. I think we need to work on a revised history of Historica and the formation of the guilds that fits with all of the guilds. On Cedrica itself, I'm surprised we don't see it more often in builds; it's mostly spoken of then seen. I envision it as a large tan brick city, something elegant and beautiful but with clear indications of power. -
Looks like a nice mini-challenge; and it fits well post chapter 1! Can't wait to see the builds for this, and to start my build!

Say what? Well what path do you want Historica to take post chapter 1? It's better to point out a problem and a solution then just point out problems. Basically they are exiled dark elves that live in Nocturnus; they were often used as a "common" enemy of the other guilds in stories and such. (But beyond that I don't know much about them either!)

On the concept of the wiki, I don't think people should be required to work on it to join a guild/Historica, since I think that's kind of the reverse of what we need. Active members already in the guilds should be the ones to work on the pages since they know the most about what's going on, as well as have things to write down like character histories etc. I see the wiki as a way to collect canon and have it all in one place for a perspective member to look at. Anyways, after that tangent, on a related note, who are the admin/creators of said wiki? There doesn't seem to be too many people working on it, and I know I'd like to make some changes only admins can do--like delete some pages (There's a lot of Kaliphlin pages that are basically lists of the same thing) and condense things to make it easier to navigate/find information. Drow related, we might not have to worry about them, but I'd still like to know about them--and they're one of many things I can't find concise information on them to put into the wiki.

Nocturnus Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Captain Nemo replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Guilds of Historica
Looks great! The black and light grey look very well together--can't wait to see this impressive castle when it's done! -
I would be very excited with this possible structure post book 1. While I didn't get to participate in the other challenges (Other than the minor 5th guild one), I did feel they were almost too large--well in the aspect that everything had to be done in a certain way and certain sizes—it was really intimidating (And the amazing builds didn’t help!). Having multiple categories works well for people without the abilities (Like meself) to build on a massive scale, and it varies up the contests as well. As a current Nocturnus member, I can see this working well for the guild's activity and it could possibly get some excess guild members to stay within Nocturnus after it's done. I like the team work and guild specific competitions too. I think that's a great way to keep activity up in off periods. However, I do think gold should stay. I personally believe competition between the guilds is a good thing, as it's both playful fun and a motivation to build greater and out do your "enemies"--gold being a way to rank the guilds motivations. The problem with gold is clear however, as after a point, like currently, a guild (Cough Nocturnus Cough unfortunately) can fall far behind; without a clear reasoning--if we continue gold I think it should be more public at least in the sense of like how much gold was awarded per entry or free build (Are we still continuing those?) so we don't just wonder where the totals came from at the end of challenges. Finally, thank you for being direct and informing us war competition hungry guild members in the loop. This will not only get people (Like myself) to appreciate the time you/leaders actually put into this, as well as relieve you of the plaguing questions we come up with!

Yeah like TheLegoDr said, I would go with Arkham. I do have the Arkham set, as well as most of the other Superhero ones, and that build just take the cake. I would say though for the other sets they are take or leave. I really don't like the look of the new Batcave, so I never bought it (Though funny story I ended up with doubles of Ivy and Bane after buying them individually, then wining them in a Eurorbicks contest), and I don't care for the new Batmobile set, though I do have the original of that set, so I'm a bit biased there. If you can get a Batwing I would though--it's one of the better Batman sets, and Joker's chopper is just perfect. Personally, I'd skip the Hulk set since it just seems like a money pit, as well as the Ock one because it's build is just too terrible. Arkham is a very nice set, but it will be around for a long time since it's an exclusive, so don't worry about that time part too much.

Don't go to Kaliphiln! Go to a guild that actually needs people (and assassins!) Nocturnus! We accept all evil peoples!
