  1. The Hobbit films will do extremely well in theaters. Anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling themselves. We're talking about one of the most highly anticipated film releases in years here. I really do hope the LotR/Hobbit themes last for at least another 3-4 years. There is still so much material to mine from. I do worry, though, about the sets' appeal to kids. As AFOLs we have a lot of purchasing power, but most of the business still comes from kids. If the kids don't like a theme, it won't stick around...
  2. If those who have requested capes could take a photo of what they look like, it would be much appreciated. I'm curious to see if they're sending out the one with the different shape...
  3. Nice work! I just saw 'Fellowship of the Ring' again over the weekend, and you've captured the scene really well.
  4. The same as a normal 3D movie. I haven't heard of any theaters that have an additional surcharge for the HFR.
  5. Wonkyeye, read the previous posts. Everyone has been discussing them.
  6. I'm really disappointed that the Baxter Stockman set is a TRU exclusive. There goes any chances of scoring it for cheap...
  7. This theme is looking great so far! I really don't need another licensed theme to collect, but I might cave and buy a few if the sets are good and, more importantly, if I like the movie.
  8. Hm....I'll have to wait for pictures before casting judgement, but at first glance I'm a bit disappointed. I was really hoping for a Geonosis Arena set, or something that might include a new Jango minifig.
  9. The Admiral Ackbar minifig is exactly the same as the Home One version, correct? .....all those stickers...
  10. These sound like fantastic sets! I was hoping for more sets from ROTK, so these definitely fit the bill. I'm guessing that Orthanc will be next summer's 'large' set in the LotR wave.
  11. You said the exact same thing in the other UCS Falcon thread. Why resurrect this one that's almost a year old...?
  12. My single favorite set of the entire Middle-earth line of sets (and that includes LotR, obviously). I disagree with your opinion on the price, as Faefrost pointed out also. But yes, the stickers are a pretty big disappointment. I'm left rather dumbstruck because of it, since the Thror's map tile that came in the Hobbit game was printed. Why not these?
  13. Definitely! Good catch! It would be the perfect hairpiece to use:
  14. Apparently my post got deleted too: I noticed that the Roller Derby Girl from the CMF Series 9 has printed elbow pads...I really wish Lego would have done something like this on the Turtles: Photo credit goes to WhiteFang
  15. So does anybody know what that dark blue cape is from? It looks new to me...
  16. Unfortunately, TRU won't let you combine a price match with a promotion. I tried this just the other day, and the customer service guy said that it was either one or the other; the computer won't let you do both. I said that that was ridiculous since I only wanted them to bring the Funhouse Escape set down to normal retail price, but they still wouldn't bite. I guess if you happen to get a really cool manager, they might be able to override the system.
  17. The Hobbit sets don't qualify for the BOGO 50% promotion. At least not according to my store or the TRU website.
  18. Nicely done! I love the technique that you used on the mill wheel.
  19. Very nice! At first glance, the B-Wing is my favorite.
  20. I went to Gamestop today and asked about the possibility of buying the figure on its own, but they wouldn't budge. I just scored one on eBay for $16, though. Probably the cheapest I'll be able to get it for!
  21. ...It's been $24.98 from Lego for over a week now.
  22. I have to agree with Infernum. It sounds like you're setting your expectations way to high for a toy. And I would hardly call the images on the package "false advertising"; if that's the case then many, many other toys are just as guilty.
  23. Why not? The word is 'TURTLE'.
  24. It appears they picked up on that, yes. Hopefully they'll honor all of the orders that were placed earlier today. Update: Scratch that last part. I've just seen that both my orders today have shipped!
  25. ^^ As far as I'm concerned, TRU employees in general know nothing. I've never seen group of employees that consistently have no clue about customer service.
