  1. We've all seen that picture, LordoftheBricks, but by no means does it guarantee that any of those sets will be made. There were plenty of things in that photo set that will never see production (the Watto bust, for example): http://www.fubiz.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/lego-office1.jpg
  2. I was really hoping for an Arena Battle set as well. It doesn't look like it's going to happen, though, since the Republic Gunship already includes Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Padme minifigs.
  3. Even if we simply got some new printing on the Mordor orcs, it would be a vast improvement. I don't think the orcs are quite as cookie-cutter lookalike as Stormtroopers are, so a little more variety would be fantastic.
  4. While I'm disappointed that the Mordor orcs are a lazy rehash of what we've seen before, I'm happy that the dead soldiers are different. And I'm glad we're actually getting a Corsair with the ship.
  5. ^ It's been confirmed that the Slave Leia minifigure will have a new print. And she does wear boots (or some type of fancy footwear) in the film.
  6. ^^ Yes, I was extremely happy to hear that! It wouldn't have made sense to get a Corsair ship without a pirate.
  7. While I'm sad that we're only getting movie-related sets this summer, it does sound like a fantastic wave. And surprisingly affordable, too.
  8. I am beyond excited for the summer wave!!! Only one Clone Wars set? Yes, please! And all of those new minifigures...
  9. We need a reliable source on this, because if it's just some fan shooting from the hip it doesn't mean a thing. From what I've been able to see, LotR and Hobbit sets have been selling just fine at stores around here.
  10. Hm....a minifig head as the Palantir? They could have done a lot better than that.
  11. Fantastic work! I really like the detailed throne room enrivonment. I can't wait to see what it looks like once it's inhabited.
  12. Very nice work, General Magma! I love you your attention to detail (including the brown minifig hand on one of the shrubs).
  13. Nice Bowser! I could be wrong, but doesn't K'nex have the Nintendo license at the moment? I seem to remember seeing some Mario Kart-inspired sets at the store. Going back to the Jurassic Park conversation, my mind has been spinning on this a lot today. Is it possible that the Dino line was cut short on purpose? Meaning Lego was made aware of the greenlighting of JP4 and put the current dino sets on hold in favor of a JP theme in a few years? We can only hope, I suppose.
  14. Fantastic! You should ask him to jot down as many notes as he can; about other licensed themes as well (Star Wars, LotR, etc.). It will be great to find out more details on these IM3 and MoS sets, though.
  15. I'd be curious to see how you combined the command centers; I've been curious about doing that myself.
  16. Darth Caedus wasn't referring to you; I'm pretty sure he was just calling out whoever posted that video in the first place. And I'm sure nobody will fault you for thinking the set was real, Jack Bricker. Just give it time, and you'll be able to spot the fakes pretty easily.
  17. Excellent work!!! I really love the way you've perfectly captured the actual model in about 1/3 the size. Awesome.
  18. Ah, that's right. Thanks for the reminder, Daniel. Although if I recall correctly, isn't there a pretty strict no-photos policy at the London Toy Fair? We might be lucky to get a few snapshots, I guess.
  19. Pardon my ignorance, but what's happening on Tuesday? I assumed we wouldn't see pics until NY Toy Fair in February.
  20. That's about as fake as they come. I love the fact that the person staged their own "Toy Fair", though.
  21. No, it definitely isn't. In fact, it's better if you do it the other way around. Order as many parts as you can from Bricklink sellers, and then check with Lego for the more hard-to-find/expensive parts.
  22. Yes, those pictures have been posted already. The Orthanc in the video was already confirmed to be somebody's MOC, if I'm not mistaken...
  23. I don't understand what you mean by seven new molds, but the forest maiden hairpiece is not "identical" to Leia's Endor hairstyle by any means. Would it be a suitable piece to use? Sure, it looks similar enough. But calling it "identical" and assuming that a new Endor Leia minifig is in the works because of it is stretching things a bit IMO.
  24. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions. The fact that the forest maiden hairpiece resembles Leia's Endor hairdo is no indication that that minifigure is a certainty. The problem with transparent elements is that they're made from a different material than normal ABS plastic. Have you ever inserted a transparent lightsaber blade into another transparent element? It's difficult to take out again. Lego has stated repeatedly that producing minifigs out of transparent plastic just isn't practical.
  25. Yes, but there's no guarantee of that. It will ultimately depend on sales and relevency of the franchise. Other themes, such as Indiana Jones, saw some characters produced (Mola Ram, Short Round, etc.) while completely missing the boat on others (Sallah, Walter Donovan, etc.). The bottom line: selection of minifigures is not an indication of how long a theme will last. Don't get me wrong, I'm firmly in the camp that hopes that this theme will last a good 5-6 years. Just pointing out the facts. EDIT: Professor Flitwick beat me to it.
