  1. Thank you for saying what needed to be said, Darth Caedus. I was just about to post something very similar after reading LordoftheBrick's comments, which I think were a bit misplaced. I think the best case scenario for Middle-earth sets is that they will continue into 2015 (i.e., approximately one year after the 'The Hobbit:TABA' hits theaters). The worst-case scenario, of course, being that the final wave is released in Summer 2014; this would leave little room for more LotR sets beyond what we already have coming this year. I tend to think that the line will continue for at least 1-2 waves beyond 'The Hobbit: TABA'. While Tolkien does have a very large and vocal fan base (myself included), it's nowhere near as large as those of Lego's other licensed properties (Star Wars, of course, but I also believe that Harry Potter had a much larger fan base, at least among the Lego target market). In the end, only time will tell how long we'll get Middle-earth sets. All we can do is throw our full support behind it, and be grateful for the awesome surprises along the way (Mouth of Sauron!!!!! ).
  2. This is absolutely incredible work, Phil! This is the best castle display I've personally ever seen.
  3. I don't see the connection that you're trying to make here. Nobody has explicitly said that they've seen these minifigs in the retailer catalog.
  4. I'm completely excited for this!!! I'm hopeful that JP might get its own Lego theme, too.
  5. We've had no confirmation that Lego will release new versions of young Boba Fett or Jango Fett...that's pure speculation at this point.
  6. Are you referring to the character itself, or just the minifigure? Because the minifigure is a pretty darn accurate representation of the character...
  7. I agree with you, Fives, although I think the only thing left that Endor would really need is an Ewok Village, and possibly a shield generator/landing platform. 8038 remains one of the best OT sets Lego has ever produced, in my opinion, and doesn't necessarily need to be remade this soon (if at all). But I'm with you on Cloud City and Tatooine sets. I would love to see some different Tatooine related sets (i.e., Lars homestead, Obi-Wan's hovel, Mos Eisley Cantina, Anchorhead, etc.).
  8. Is this the piece you're referring to? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32474 I think if we got a printed version of that, it would make a great Palantir element.
  9. Welcome to Eurobricks! I actually pieced together my 10179 model through Bricklink last year. Luckily, it was before many of the pieces became extremely rare. By the way, there's already a thread on this subject.
  10. I picked up the Kraang Lab Escape set yesterday! It's a great little set. One thing I noticed, though, is that Mikey's nunchucks seem to be made out of a different plastic material. I'm talking about the brown "tubes". After clipping them into his hands, I noticed that it damaged the plastic ever so slightly.
  11. Check the above posts - the next story arc features the return of Maul and Savage.
  12. Jurassic Park IV was officially announced today!! Release date has been set for June 13, 2014. I'm starting to get really excited about the prospect of a Lego theme.......MAN, I hope that happens!!
  13. I just can't understand how someone would think this film is 'awful', unless they didn't like Lord of the Rings in the first place. I can understand it not being some people's cup of tea, but I tend to think that those who think The Hobbit is awful has no clue what an awful film really is.
  14. Armor or not, I think we definitely need some new variations of Orc minifigs. Even the current "Mordor orc" minifigs don't look too accurate to me.
  15. That's a great point, it could be a similar situation to some of the Star Wars D2C sets that include exclusive minifigs (e.g., Dengar and IG-88 in 10221). I think Wormtongue would be a great choice a potential 'exclusive' minifigure for Orthanc.
  16. The blog on the Lego SW site says that the premier has been delayed a week, until next Friday (Jan. 11).
  17. A new X-Wing?? Interesting. Although €99.00 seems far too low for it to be a UCS ship.
  18. GRogall comes through again!!! That is fantastic news indeed!
  19. Personally, I think these polybags are great. Unless I really become a fan of the film, I'll probably just stick with these two polybag sets for this theme.
  20. Yes, it's the same picture but only slightly larger. I can make out the "New!" callouts next to some of the minifigures, though. It does look like The Lone Ranger theme will have some nice polybag sets, though.
  21. I wouldn't call it a deleted scene per se, since that scene is found in the extended edition of Return of the King. Peter Jackson (and many fans, myself included) consider the extended editions the "real" versions of the films.
  22. I'm pretty convinced that it's legitimate, based on the reasons KyleJohnson11 gave (which I also pointed out on a previous page). If this was a pic that came from some random Flickr photostream it would be different; but this user has published the first photos of many sets over the past few days. I wouldn't be surprised if this person has some kind of connection with Lego and blurred out the image to drive us crazy with speculation; the plan is obviously working, if that's the case.
  23. We could get one Palantir with an eye of Sauron print, and one plain black version.
  24. Look at the picture more closely. You can clearly see a tall box around the tower, within which everything is pixelated - including the scroll backdrop and one of the "swooshes" of the watermark. It's convincing enough to me that I'm pretty sure we're looking at a legitimate set here. And what's this talk about seeing the Balrog and Lothlorien?
  25. This is what I would like to see as far as Orthanc's minifigure lineup goes: Saruman Grima Wormtongue Lurtz (in armor) Uruk-hai x3 (some with "White Hand" armor) Mordor Orcs x2 (possibly new designs?) Mordor Orc Emissary ("What orders from Mordor, my Lord?") I think a $200 price point seems about right. I realize the tower could be mostly a hollow build and possibly make a $150 price point, but I'd rather it be more solidly built with a higher piece count.
