  1. Well done, indeed! If and when they get around to making an Old Bilbo minifig, I hope it looks very similar to what you've created.
  2. Mandarin looks terrible, but the sets themselves look pretty good! The Malibu Mansion is my favorite.
  3. Wow!!! If we're indeed getting a large-sized Ewok village set, I'll be ecstatic!
  4. Jabba's Palace is my choice. I had been waiting years for a Lego to do a worthy remake of that set, and the new one does not disappoint.
  5. He'll look a lot better than that. Count on it. They were developing Lego SW III way before they would have started development on the minfigure.
  6. Nice find! I love the new young Boba minifigure.
  7. Hm....I'm not sure why they're using repainted Stormtrooper armor for him when Yoda Chronicles is supposed to take place during the Prequel-era timeline. Not really a fan of the minifig, though. Hopefully the others impress me more.
  8. It's actually my favorite set of the first wave. There were too many stickers, but the set overall is a great representation of the scene. The only way I can see it taking 30 minutes is if you speed right through the build, in which case you only have yourself to blame...
  9. Cool, nice find! I was watching some of the other videos, and I'm really impressed at their quality.
  10. I really hope we get two distinct feet on the final version. That's the only complaint that I currently have about the eagle.
  11. The sets look great! I've loving all of autumn colored pieces in the Council of Elrond set.
  12. ...This is the most vague opinion ever. If that's the case, then you'd be happy with the steaming pile of Eopie poo from Episode I made into a Lego set. I'm completely in favor of an Ewok Village, for the same reasons that 'strangely' cited. The Lego SW theme is so vehicle-centric, it's refreshing when we actually get a playset that represents a scene. We could definitely do with more of those.
  13. Nor for me, although it's probably the same photograph that we've already seen of the minifigures.
  14. I came across the BARC w/ Sidecar at Walmart today and decided to pick it up. I just couldn't resist the awesome new Rex minifig!
  15. Yours is a fantastic concept, StoutFiles!! I'm glad you posted this link, since I somehow missed seeing this thread originally. You've recreated the locations very well; however, I hesitate to think that Lego would go with a similar shape as the Death Star. Part of what makes 10188 work so well is that the shape of the set mimics the source material perfectly. Cloud City would be tougher to tackle.
  16. I think the Mouth of Sauron minifigure takes the prize as the best minifigure of the theme so far. Absolutely stunning!
  17. Ant-Man has been known for a while now; what's new information is that it will officially mark the beginning of Phase 3. This means that Phase 2 will only have four films, as opposed to Phase 1's five.
  18. The hairpieces for Elrond and Arwen are definitely different. If you can't see it, look closer. Elrond's is a little wider at the top, and the two pieces of hair don't "flow" over the shoulders as much as Arwen's does. They look different to me.
  19. If the Lord of the Rings theme happens to be doing extremely well, say, 2-3 years from now, there is the possibility that we could actually get the first $300-400 UCS style set from the theme. That would be the perfect opportunity to get a gigantic Barad-Dur. But the chances of that happening are pretty slim.
  20. Barad-Dur as a $100 set would be laughable, especially if it included all of those additional extras. It absolutely dwarfs Orthanc, which looks to be a $150-200 set in its own right. I honestly don't think Lego will attempt a tower of that scale. I do like your idea for a Last Alliance set, though. Though I'm not sure we'd see that many brand new minifigs in a single set, even if it were $50.
  21. Without seeing what the final version of the eagle looks like, it's hard for me to form an opinion on it. I would like its talons to be a little more detailed than the simple square stud arrangement that is sports in the preliminary pic, though.
  22. Yes, Lego is indeed a privately held company. I would guess that we wouldn't be having this conversation if company reports were made publicly visible. That said, isn't there some possible way that we could get some kind of official word on how well the line is doing? Doesn't TLG have a good enough relationship with the AFOL community to give a 'yes' or 'no'?
  23. Without going into potential spoilers, you'll definitely have second thoughts about this statement after the Hobbit trilogy. Assuming PJ and crew stay somewhat true to Tolkien, that is.
  24. General Magma's suggestion was the Old Bilbo be included in a Lego LotR encyclopedia, not a Hobbit game. At this point, though, I think it's a little early to be speculating on any kind of LotR encyclopedia. There haven't been nearly enough sets to fill a book.
  25. If holiday sales online and in my area are any indication, the LotR line is doing fine. Amazon was out of stock of every single LotR set for basically all of December.
