  1. ^ It's not the character himself so much as the sheer rarity of the minifigure that's appealing.
  2. Here are my top 3 choices: 1. Minas Tirith 2. Witch King w/ Fell Beast 3. Osgiliath (similar to what Lynx describes above)
  3. I would take what they said with a grain of salt. There was a 7-year gap between System scale Millennium Falcon models last time.
  4. Borex, I had the exact same thoughts as well when I first saw these new "action features". While Lego does need to compete with other playthemes in the toy aisle, I don't think they should focus too much on incorporating spring-loaded missiles and the like.
  5. Absolutely amazing!! The green spikes actually create a very accurate looking texture.
  6. Yeah, I definitely know what you're saying Brickadeer. I think most fans (myself included) share your pont of view. We took for granted the fact that Williams would return to score these movies, thus when the announcement was made it was great news, albeit a bit expected.
  7. FYI, it hasn't been confirmed anywhere that there will be two exclusives.
  8. ^ True, but they still seem fixated on making almost every set vehicle-centric. I would gladly welcome more sets like the Funhouse Escape.
  9. It never hurts to give a friendly warning. Believe it or not, there are people out there who may want to watch the video with their kids, or who simply choose to avoid profanity.
  10. I'm definitely buying, but I'll wait it out for another two weeks to get the fantastic September freebies.
  11. Great review!! I think this is the most underrated set of the new wave. It's right up there at the top of my must-buy list.
  12. Definitely the Council of Elrond for me. It's not the biggest set, but it's just such a great representation. And the colors look great!
  13. The entire Hobbit theme would be for naught if we don't get Smaug, IMO. He's in the title of the film, after all.
  14. My friends and I were just talking about those videos at work today. He comes up with some interesting ideas, but doesn't always play by his own rules (i.e., he says that Anakin shouldn't be a kid in the Episode I, but bases a lot of his changes for later in the film on the fact that Anakin's a kid. Huh...??) By the way, it should be mentioned that the videos contain a good amount of adult language.
  15. That would have been perfect. I would even have been ok with one Easterling and one orc, just to ensure a bit of variety.
  16. ^ I was actually thinking the same thing.
  17. While I don't work in Lego's licensing division, I can tell you that's certainly not true. Licensing contracts are negotiated on a case-by-case basis, and fees will vary widely depending on the popularity of the intellectual property and the policies of the copyright holder.
  18. Unless someone here works for Amazon or has a crystal ball, then no. Just be patient; if you're dead-set on buying from Amazon, it will come back in stock eventually.
  19. Rocket Raccoon = 100% badass
  20. You're welcome! I forgot to mention that they are also tax-free in most states, as they are a subsidiary of Amazon.com.
  21. Wow, this seems like quite a large assortment for a winter wave! I'll have to wait and see what the new "Recruitment" sets look like, but I'm definitely in for everything else.
  22. Hm....it seems odd that Lego would be experimenting with a "new" scale, after they discontinued the Midi-scale vehicles a few years ago. Perhaps this will be more of a continuation of the Chibi-style vehicles that we've seen at conventions, though. That would be very cool.
  23. For those in the U.S., YoYo.com is offering 20% off Lego sets when you order 3 or more - plus they have the new sets in stock!! Enter "LEGO20!" at checkout. I ordered the Corporate Alliance Tank Droid, Homing Spider Droid, and TMNT Shredder sets. YoYo.com has quickly become a favorite of mine for their great sales and super fast free shipping.
