  1. Those are the only details he posted about the Cantina?! Hopefully someone posts more info on what the final minifigure selection will be....
  2. It's fantastic news that the Superhero licenses are seen as an "evergreen" property now for Lego. I'm looking forward to many more years of DC and (especially!!) Marvel sets.
  3. While you bring up a good point (and indeed, this is probably what Lego will end up doing), I'm still not sure how I feel about it. Making a molded creature of that size begins to stray too far from being uniquely "Lego", and into generic action figure territory, if you know what I mean.
  4. Hm....interesting news!! Although Smaug is likely to be extremely undersized, I am glad that we're getting him. The Elrond vs. Witchking set sounds intriguing!! Hopefully Lego will be able to use any new molds for the glow-in-the-dark minifigure to also give us a "normal" ROTK version of the Witchking.
  5. Well.......Smaug's size is likely to be disappointing. But at least we're getting him! And I'm very curious about these details. Elrond? Witchking? Will some of these be LOTR sets after all?
  6. "Annoying little brat kid"? What exactly is your reasoning for that? I'd recommend checking out The Clone Wars. It does a fantastic job of setting him up as the badass bounty hunter we all know and love.
  7. I'm remaining hopeful that the three mystery minifigures in the Cantina aren't all band members. That would be a disappointment IMO. Lego needs to use one of those slots for a Ponda Baba minifigure.
  8. Well, the bacta tank Luke minifigure included the new hair mold. So I'm guessing that Lego reserves the more traditional mold for his ROTJ minifigures.
  9. Has there been a thread started for 2014 calendars? I'm curious about the offers for February...
  10. If this is all we're getting of LOTR, then I would sadly have to agree with you. The theme had so much potential, and we've barely even scratched the surface.
  11. For some reason, I just now looked at this thread!! Always wondered how to get the tag on my profile. Brickdoctor, would you mind doing the honors?
  12. Watto's shop has never been produced. A half-hearted attempt at a "junkyard", yes. But not the structure itself.
  13. I've been a big proponent for the Star Wars theme to have more location-based sets. Lego could pick and choose from any number of things that we're missing: - Theed - Watto's Shop - Anakin's home - Senate Chamber - Padme's Apartment - Outlander Club - Dex's Diner - Kamino - Lars Homestead - Geonosis Arena - Jedi Temple - Mustafar Separatist base - Obi-Wan's hovel - Yavin IV base - Dagobah (especially Yoda's hut) - CLOUD CITY!!!!!! Surprisingly, Return of the Jed has been covered pretty completely (with the exception of a proper Dagobah set). Some of these aren't likely to become sets (Anakin or Ben's homes, for example), but there are still many, many playset options to choose from.
  14. Hm......I actually hope the minifigure is not either Dagobah or Bespin Luke, since I'm hoping to see each of those in future sets. A Tatooine poncho or Medical frigate hospital gown version are the only other alternatives I can think of, however.
  15. This can't be emphasized enough! As someone with a marketing background, I can vouch for the importance of sales figures in determining the future of a product line. Money talks, especially in matters like this. It's quite an oxymoron for someone to say that they want more LOTR, would hate it if Lego discontinued the theme, etc. if they haven't gone out and bought all of the sets (or better yet, MULTIPLES of sets) and cast their vote with the almighty dollar.
  16. Great topic! For me, Lego and Star Wars have been together for almost as long as I've been collecting Lego. Not having LSW sets anymore would not only be supremely disappointing, it would be like part of my Lego fandom dying. No matter what, if/when Lego does stop producing Star Wars sets, it will be huge news. But I have my doubts that it will ever happen.
  17. A sentinel!!! It's not perfect, but I'm sure the final version will be much better.
  18. The bar section actually looks quite decent! I'm planning on getting two Cantina sets anyway, so I'll likely expand it a bit as well.
  19. ^ That seems highly unlikely. Not only does Lego never give out specific information about upcoming sets, but it's highly unlikely that they would do a straight re-release 10179.
  20. Ah, thanks! Personally, though, I really hope we don't get three Bith band members. It seems like a massive waste of slots that could have gone to other necessary Cantina figures, like Ponda Baba, Dr. Evazan, and Wuher.
  21. I'm still not seeing the 3rd Squidward. At all.
  22. People are still confused by the title? It's not that hard to figure out, folks. Even Balin has a line in the film about it; something to the effect of "Behold, the Desolation of Smaug", when they're overlooking the ruins of Dale. Also, Thorin's map (which is printed in every copy of The Hobbit) specifically designates the region directly surrounding Erebor "The Desolation of Smaug".
  23. This would probably be my top pick as well. I would also love to have a Boba Fett minifigure as he appeared in the Holiday Special: http://artinsights.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/20130411110743.jpg
  24. WOW. Just......WOW!! Marcos has done an absolutely amazing job with this set. The new molding technique will indeed be a game changer for the Lego brand. I wish they could have used it to give some of the hobbit minifigures a "barefoot" look.
  25. ^ The Ithorian is included in the set with JEK-14.
