  1. Thanks, I really appreciate the compliment. In my defence, I think the people of Fatu Hiva were keen to get rid of the Padre. They didn't care if he survived or not. Now I get that old reference to the Atheneans and their wooden walls. I guess we'd say hull? Rails? The lowest spot was supposed to be a gangway, but I guess I could've raised it a bit higher in the bows. @blackdeathgr@Fraunces Thanks for the feedback!
  2. Bumping this topic because I've rebuilt the ship: Range 5, Maneuver 3, Firepower 3, Crew 2, Cargo 0, Hull 2 Hopefully all of the different elements look more to scale. I've added another mast, and multiple beams for sails. I've added some swivel guns on the bow, because it looked weird without. Also, despite the fact that I loved the captain's cabin, it looked insane on such a small ship, so it had to go. The hull is exactly the same as before, but hopefully it looks a little bit bigger. I'm hoping to tweak the classification of the ship to give it some cargo space. How does this work?
  3. I like it! Particularly the fade from sea to beach. My only suggestion would be to offset all the bricks in the sea, so that there are fewer straight lines, and it looks more natural.
  4. It seems I am still paying for the upkeep of this fort. I have submitted a transaction form and the details included. Hopefully that will help to transfer ownership.
  5. Thanks guys! Really appreciate your feedback. Yeah, I felt a bit guilty writing that bit. EC for life!
  6. Adding my build to this thread to flesh out the architecture.
  7. News of the challenge has reached back home to the mainland:
  8. Extract from an enciphered report by Section 13's man in Mardier. ..."Lupine Bell" has been added. From our vessel of the same name. Understand the brokers strike it to mark a sale. - RE Pilots Association announcement: A few loyalists are angry about the Prio connection. Most pragmatists are strongly behind it. Syndicates eventually agreed to sponsor a winner's purse and send an observer along. - KPA is still considered the most reliable journal, despite difficulty getting hold of it in Mardieran ports. Eltina Courier is too irregular for most patrons. Curiously, one broker *does* read the WTCM. But then, he also enjoys cryptic crosswords and frequents Lady Domino's Palace of Punishment. - The following vessels have been insured for shipping out of Londa... For context: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lloyd's_Coffee_House https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Lutine_(1779) This is a silly little joke, that I've wanted to make for a while. I even built the place in mainland Mardier, where it can't be of any use to me. And yet, I'm absurdly proud of myself. It genuinely looks legit.I hope you like it!
  9. Windows are expensive!
  10. Nice, count me in! Can I enter Category B multiple times? I have a couple of fun ideas. I don't mind throwing them all in one build if you'd prefer that. NVM - Just reread the rules.
  11. Reminds me of the traders in Waterworld. These guys speak Portugreek?
  12. They're both in TLM2 CMF bags.
  13. @Wellesley very nicely done!
  14. Really nice little build. I now know a lot more about boats than when I first started playing this game, so can I humbly suggest hanging another sail off that mast? At the moment, it looks like there would be just a jib. But I think you could either hang a mainsail off the front, or a spanker off the back of the main mast. Possibly both! Other than that, welcome to the game. I really like your builds, so I'm glad you're joining!
  15. I guess it makes sense to do this, but it would also be nice to find out when scores are posted. Maybe for episodes you could do a summing-up post with scores?
  16. I do love a forced perspective build! Thanks for the idea.
  17. @blackdeathgr Glad to have you back!
  18. Your Eminences, Please forgive me if my understanding of the proper protocol for this communiqué is lacking. I have not had the opportunity to address senior clergy members of the Order before, and I believe urgency is more pressing than propriety in this singular instance. To the crux of the matter, I am delighted to be able to inform you that Father Sellefort, the Priest of Zeus assigned to the Parish of Astrapi, is alive and well. He was discovered by your colleague, Padré François, as he explored the catacombs of the temple this afternoon. It seems that his suspicions had been raised by the prospect of burials in the middle of a temple of Zeus; typically burials are, of course, the realm of the Underlord. When the Padré discovered a locked door he, under his own intuition, tried it with the key discovered by Monsieur Jones in the sea caves beyond the edges of town. It worked. Inside, he found the Father, on the edges of madness, dressed in nought but rags, and as thin as a rake. I believe we will get a full story in time, but it seems that the Father was captured several years ago, while en-route to take up his position as Parish Priest. The Promethean smugglers who captured him considered holding him to ransom, but then saw an opportunity to plant an imposter in his place. It was this imposter that the Padré burnt at the stake. The real Father Sellefort is still in a very vulnerable state. He remained sane by mentally composing a magnum opus "On The Merits of Virtue", and the Padré is currently helping him transcribe it now, while he still remembers it. We have not moved him far, since the Padré sees some merit in keeping his identity secret at present. If one good thing has come of this, it is that the real Father Sellefort apparently knows where Zeus's Lightning is, and will direct our expedition there when he is in a fit condition. I am your humble servant, René Duchamps Full build:
  19. Inspired by Black Sails? I really like the fig, and it's a good intro story.
  20. @Bregir It does, thanks. My example might be this build that I did a while back: It's 12x12, so too small even for a "small" build. I guess if I wanted something like this to count I should take advantage of the scale difference and put more terrain in. Really give it context...
  21. @MKJoshA thanks. I've been experimenting with lighting recently. No firm solutions yet, but I'm getting there.
  22. I have a question about micro builds. If I wanted to build a whole district and register it as a residential build, would that be fair? Assuming it was a decent enough quality, and it covered the minimum area requirements.
  23. Seriously though. How did you make the curve? Is it just lots of 1x2s under stress? Tell us your secrets!
