  1. Why is no one talking about the new bear mold? Is there something wrong with my eyes?
  2. Very nice. I also like the swimsuit usage. My only idea would be some printed legs with tools for van Helsing, but I dont know it suitable ones exist in black.
  3. Thanks a lot for the kind replies. Although it is not much compared to the impressive MOCs I see here every day, a lot of different attempts were necessary until it was finished. I had to cheat by cutting off some rope to make it fit. I can imagine a fiery red "Phoenix" version. Also I want to try a version that shoots more than one arrow at the same time. For my own army I would Love more earthen colors like dark tan and brown, but the space Wing is very limited in color choice. Maybe sacrificing the rules of purism is necessary. If one of you owns some of the very rare brown spacewings I heard about, please let me know.
  4. UPDATE: The Dark Elves now enjoy a war machine: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=97168 4 front with elf von MWardancer auf Flickr
  5. UPDATE 15.02.15: New Version 1C Falcon below DeadlySpearThrowers 1a and 1b: The Griffin and the Raven Elves usually do not trust in machinery - except when it comes to giant bows. Initially designed as a ranged cavallery killer, the DST has quickly spread through the kingdoms as an all purpose war machine. Put them on your towers, put them on your ship and neither man nor beast will harm you. Mimicing color and shape of well known predators such as the griffin and the raven, the DST 1 strikes with force beyond the power of a human individual and spreads peace easily. Quickly deployed and maintenance free, it is popular amongst factions with different concepts of moral. The Raven version of the DST1 enjoys excessive use by the so-called "evil" factions, but other factions also like to employ it for nightime objectives. If this is ever becoming available on brickling mocshop, I recommend to equip your army with one of the many colors available. This is a redo of an older moc of mine, but I did not want to revive a long dead topic. C&C welcome.
  6. Glossy is closer to real lego, although sometimes it can be too glossy. Some colors are only available in one or the other. Try it out, if you dont like it, you can use transparent glossy or matte to change the surface afterwards.
  7. I often use Revell paint. It is cheap and works well, but for bigger areas i prefer Citadel. Revell is enamel as described in the link above.
  8. Wow! This gave me the creeps. Awesome lighting!
  9. Thanks for the kind replies. Yes, some Elf ears would improve the figs. It is not very easy, because the CapeMadness Cape is very sturdy and most hairpieces conflict with this. But if I ever make more, I'll try some ears. The other torsos from the chima scorpion tribe are nice as well, as soon as they are widely available I'll make some more. It is not easy to get many of the good heads, so I need to hide as many faces behind helmet as I can.
  10. UPDATE February 2018: Boar Blocker Guards UPDATE January 2018: Cold One Riders UPDATE September 2017: WITCHES!! UPDATE MAY 2017: Wavebreaker Guards UPDATE January 2017: Harpy sisters attack Wood Elf rider in "Nightly Harpy Havoc" Dark Elves In times of peril, some Elves resort to calling upon darker powers to aid their endeavors. It is said that some of these unfortunate get lost in the dark arts. But do not be misled, this is not what happened with the Dark Elves. They have been simply... evil... as long as their stories were told. Their dark Gods are different from ours - and can never be harnessed for any greater purpose. Dark Elf Lord von MWardancer auf Flickr Dark Elf Lady von MWardancer auf Flickr Dark Elf Soldier von MWardancer auf Flickr Dark Elf Advent von MWardancer auf Flickr C&C welcome! Customized parts: - all male figs were (affordable!) keychains - Brickwarriors helmets and weapons - CapeMadness Capes - the lady's dekollete had to be painted white - dark blue gems are cut off antennas
  11. Thanks for the idea, this is very useful. Some chima armours allow two clips at the back as well, but these Si-dan things work without any armor, which allows more different figs.
  12. Ha, I just watched the movie Maleficient with a winged Angelina Jolie yesterday and thought I needed some wings (and breasts?) for my figs. I think it is a generally established fact that things with wings are cooler than without. I love the wings, they come with the right level of detail and look very orginal (e.g. in comparison to the chima wings). I love the helmet (no holes for horns, thank you), but why do they not come in any metallic color whatsoever? They remind me of these troopers in the Star Wars Death Star who fire the big green lasers. I like the female armor (there is a distinct lack of these in Lego), but also no metallic color. I wouldn't have needed these strings in the middle, but that is ok. Also it would be nice if there were some adaptor to attach the wings without the female armor.
  13. I remain sceptical. In the videos it is always only about the facade, a small two-dimensional area behind this special calibration tile. I think the approach is very honourable, but it is not building something and then making it digital. Maybe it works with cars. I wonder how its going to be with the Tower Battle.
  14. Very beautiful, lively, colorful, filled with things to discover - just like the open day it portrays. The three holes in the corners suggest modular expansions, I hope it comes to that.
  15. The smallest one is surely portwine or rum. Yummi!
  16. A nice scene. Good to see yetis in action! Do the transparent yellow plates mean a scared peeing in pants?
  17. Another helmet with female hair, after the valkyrie this is a good trend. The goddess Looks very greek, I hope some other leg and skirt pieces fit her well.
  18. I see, I looked it up. The German word Blutrinne (blood channel) that is used for this part of a sword mislead me. The Wikipedia article explicitely states that is is not for blood, as you say. Still, evil minifigs will use if for drawing blood.
  19. Such symmetric lines could be achieved well if you use tape to demarcate the painted area. Make one line, let it dry, make the next.
  20. Good stuff. The swords I think are really an innovation, I cannot think of any other custom swords with that channel for blood. Very nice. The helmet I like, too. It is visually compatible with some other viking helmet on the market. BWs one is better in that respect that it reaches down to the neck. The others leave the neck bare, which exposes a bold neck and looks awkward. Personally, I would have enjoyed a version without holes for horns, too, for regular soldiers. The axe looks fine as well. The shield I feel has a tough competition with the printed official ones.
  21. Good treeman! I like the fiery eyes and the very beardlike beard. Maybe a bit more greenery around the top? There is also a whole thread on trees somewhere in the forum. Yours should be included. Also in my sig there is a tree demon link.
  22. Citadel paint is easier to remove, it is water dilutable. But I think you Need to coat it afterwards to make it durable. Revell paint can to some extend be wiped off as long as it is still very fresh. When completely dried on a flat surface, it can be scraped off, but not very well. There is some chance that a piece becomes ruined, especially when it has small openings, corners, trenches, where paint might stay in. Another chance is to paint it over. Try cheaper parts first. PS: I am not a mod, but I would be interested in seeing your shields in this thread. I am currently customizing some BW shields as well, so I am looking for inspiration
  23. Nice swords! How do your katanas react when placed into a minfigs hand? I painted these hilts once and all the paint came off from the pressure of the minfig's hand.
  24. I recommend Games Workshop Citadel Paint for Warhammer tabletop games. If you want to spend less money, Revell enamel paint works, too. Try to get these brushes where the tip stays one thin point when try are wet. Most of it is learning by doing. The Most useful technique is covering unwanted areas with tape before painting. These viking shields offer a big area to paint patterns or sigils on. I had some good results with fingernail airbrush templates. See the Elvnoi Dozor in my signature. Or you could use decals from Warhammer decal shields or any other.
  25. Thanks for the Information. Maybe one could use a piece of wire Inside the tube to give them elbows.
