  1. Can I bring Mike Hat to work?

  2. I hate AFOLs.

  3. I'd like to see those joint pieces in new colors as well, but there could be any number of reasons why they haven't been produced yet. So why is "lazy" always the go-to explanation? Is it because AFOLs are too lazy to come up with a better argument?
  4. Oh, I didn't realize it was already time for the Seventh Annual Debate That Doesn't Go Anywhere Over What Qualifies As UCS.
  5. Well, there hasn't really been an uproar on any scale worthy of attention. Fan forums lend themselves to an echo-chamber effect where a few dozen people can seem like a majority, but somewhere on the order of 99.9997% of LEGO's customers don't care about these exclusives one way or another.
  6. So far this year, reveals have pretty consistently come about a month before VIP Early Access. So I would expect mid-August.
  7. I wouldn't read too much into what's been done in the past. It's not always the best indicator of what we'll see in the future.
  8. Do you actually believe this is a logical argument, or are you just trolling?
  9. Hey, look at that! I guess all that whining about a set called Cinderella's Castle not having Cinderella turned out to be pointless since the set isn't called Cinderella's Castle. It's almost like AFOLs like to complain about things before they even have their facts straight or something.
  10. It seems like The LEGO Batman Movie is being marketed pretty similarly to The LEGO Movie, so I think we can get a general idea of when and where things will be revealed by looking at how it was done for TLM. At SDCC we got the official announcement of how many sets there would be, and that there would be a Minifigures series, but the only set actually shown was Super Cycle Chase. A new trailer debuted at the end of October, and the next day two more sets and the Minifigures were revealed through a couple different movie/entertainment sites. After that, the full lineup was shown on the TLM products page with red shrouds draped over them, which were lifted one at a time over the next week, then they were all listed on S@H by mid-November. So my expectation - based on no inside information whatsoever - is that one mid-sized TLBM set will be shown next weekend, and the majority of the reveals will come shortly after the release of a new trailer sometime in the fall.
  11. Piece count is just over 4000 from what I've heard, if anyone's curious. I can confirm the $350 price point too.
  12. Hawkeye is one of my favorite Marvel characters, but I would still vastly prefer a brand new character over just getting another variant of a guy we've already gotten in multiple sets.
  13. As in, not from Superhero Girls or The LEGO Batman movie? No.
  14. Given the prior statistical likelihood of a Yoda's Hut remake, alongside amazingbricks's hit rate and propensity for false positives, I've applied Bayes' Theorem and concluded there's about a 1.57% chance of it actually happening.
  15. We're talking about the exclusivity situation in the US.
  16. It was j2g who first said it would be "bigger and better," and both of those are open to interpretation - bigger could mean a higher piece count even if the finished product isn't physically larger.
  17. A grand total of one part has been made in Transparent Fluorescent Green with Glitter - and it's definitely still in production; the five sets in which it appears are all from last year or this year. This depends, though, on whether you consider the glitter colors to be separate from their unbedazzled counterparts; the Replacement Parts service lists them separately, but the official color palette doesn't list them:
  18. The Avenjet and Iron Skull sub both came out in January...
  19. In the US at least, Rescue from Ra's al Ghul is indeed exclusive to Wal-Mart and lego.com. This is going to be the case for all MDPs moving forward (at least for a "test period") - all retailer-exclusive sets will only be available from that retailer, and the only way to get them directly from LEGO will be through S@H; they won't be available at LEGO Stores.
  20. Nerd question: are the gold cheese slopes on the Gauntletmobile the usual Warm Gold, or are they Drum Lacquered/Gold Ink?
  21. Brilliant! I've been wanting to try this myself but couldn't think of a good way to build the tiara; that basketball hoop is awesome.
  22. No, rumors for the bank didn't turn up until late September last year, shortly before the official reveal.
  23. I expect over 4000.
