  1. Well, I finally got a look at 76056 Rescue from Ra's al Ghul - as expected, it features
  2. I guess it was too much to hope TLG would actually produce a part with "EAT ME" printed on it. These look very good though; thanks for posting!
  3. Nah, it's definitely Bright Orange.
  4. Well dang, I was going to claim as an April Fool's joke that TLG didn't get finalized concept art in time and just used the same Spider-Man as they always do, but I guess I'll have to come up with something else if people are actually treating it as a possibility.
  5. The song is "We Ridin'" by V.I.C. feat. Hurricane Chris. (I hadn't actually heard it before either, but there's a nifty little website called whosampled.com where you can look up tracks by what songs they sample or remix.)
  6. This is exactly what makes me more certain they'll actually be produced. Every new mold in The LEGO Movie was released in real life, to maintain the illusion that the whole world could actually be created in physical bricks (give or take some Q-Tips and batteries). Assuming this movie plays just as fair, we can expect any new parts to show up in the sets. Somewhere around 20; most were character-specific, but a few were more generic parts that just happened to debut in TLM sets before being widely used in other themes.
  7. I always thought the gold crowbar was a pretty clever part usage and never understood the demand for a special new mold, but hey, if it'll make y'all happy I'll support it. Catwoman is probably my favorite of the new variants, but that might change once I see the Mr. Freeze mech suit more clearly.
  8. Good thing that torso already exists with the belt printed on then.
  9. If this movie plays by the same "rules" as The LEGO Movie (i.e., only using molds that actually physically exist), then we can assume most if not all will be made into real figures, since I'm seeing quite a few new molds.
  10. It'll probably largely depend on which ones he actually wears in the movie, as opposed to those that are just blink-and-you-miss-it background gags (though I could still see a few of those turning up in mannequin form if there's a set based on that area of the Batcave).
  11. I'm pretty sure the only difference was that it didn't have the beatboxing intro that the online trailer does. There wasn't any additional footage.
  12. I'd go with a 1x1 cone personally; it's not quite the right shape but a good size and it's available in Transparent Bright Green. There's also the rubber dorsal fin piece, which would be a bit oversized but closer to the flattened shape.
  13. Well, maybe you'll have to wait just as long as we do for once.
  14. The waffle that came in that set was a single round tile though - this appears to be four quarter-circle tiles. I'm leaning towards pie.
  15. The new Civil War set comes out in August. The calendar is referring to either the Technic Porsche or (more likely) the Minecraft Village. /buzzkill
  16. Because the 3-in-1s tend to go the brick-built route with animals (especially birds, it seems) so the pieces can be more easily reused in alternate builds.
  17. See, what did I tell you? "But she's got a new hat pocket print!"
  18. The May calendar is now out and shows a VIP early release on the 18th. I am pretty sure that it's going to be The Village.
  19. There are occasionally some rare-ish parts, but never anything completely exclusive as far as I know.
  20. "Unoriginal" is a very easy, very lazy accusation that can be thrown at pretty much anything. LEGO itself is unoriginal - plenty of other toy companies were making plastic building blocks before they came along - and yet here we all are. Plenty of writers get so invested in telling an "original" story that they forget to tell a good one. And a lot of the best stories come from interrogating and deconstructing well-established narrative ideas rather than trying too hard to come up with wholly new ones.
  21. That part's not referring to the movie - note that that segment of the text is dated from September 2013, so it's clearly talking about the TV show.
  22. They are age restricted, you do have to register, they are free, and they are all exclusive to LEGO Stores.
  23. Actor Builder, I honestly can't tell whether you're deliberately parodying the whole "I've seen five still images from this film so I can already tell it will be terrible!" fanboy attitude, but just in case you're serious, I'll point out that The LEGO Movie also had no shortage of fake/impossible connections, but that certainly didn't affect the overall quality. This new Batwing certainly looks way more likely to be an actual set than the previous one. Speaking of which, question for the mods: where will discussion of the sets go? Licensed? Special Themes? Just rolled into 2017 DC?
