  1. Being a fan of: Syberia games Trains built in Technic style and parts Clockwork locomotives made in Lego ... I cannot stop myself from looking at this beauty! Great shot in the snow - very...appropriate, I'd say. Maybe a Lego Friends customized minifig could complete the set as Kate Walker! Please go on with the other cars to make the full train - it surely will be a great shelf queen. Ciao! Davide p.s. Frontpage well deserved!!!
  2. This is AWESOME!!! I love evey bit (stud!) of it You absolutely won the challenge! If I can make a request...please try Daitarn III (Daitān 3) with the two variants of Mach Patrol Ciao! Davide
  3. I saw it in Youtube some days ago - it's an astonishing model, immediately recognizable! Great work! Ciao! Davide
  4. I just saw this one with my daughter (she's here with me now) - our compliments for this fantastic small theme! We like a lot how you rendered the wagons! Ciao! Davide
  5. Funny and ... different! I like it a lot The timing/gearing is really well done! Great! Ciao! Davide
  6. Great first MOC - impressive crane and fuctions!!! Keep up the good work! Ciao! Davie
  7. Spectacular Caddy! It looks perfect, and immediately gives that "smooth ride" sensation! Surely the front page is really really well deserved!!! Ciao! Davide
  8. WD40 was my first choice many many years ago...and I can say it's good for cleaning motors, but aggressive on plastic. So if you have dirty gears (also because maybe some previous owners tried some lubrication too), WD40 will help to clean them. On old 4,5v motors, once they are clean, I use a drop of sewing machine oil or lately, a grease like Tamiya's one, which is the best in my opinion (after all, also Miini 4WDs have plastic gears). Same on 12v, but I had to open them...and It's not an easy task. Oce opened, 12v motors will reveal also very dirty wheel bearings, which are full of dust, hair...and so on). The sewing machine oil tends to be a bit messy, so I limited its use on windup motors only, using the key hole (I never opened one, but it seems there's no need).😀
  9. Aaah what a little, nice puffing machine!!! I like it a lot!!!
  10. It's always a joy to see old 12v stuff running!!! Great video! Ciao! Davide

  13. Again congratulations for your Katy, an inspirational build that deserved to win this contest! Great @zephyr1934 !!! Ciao! Davide
  14. It is a PERFECT fit - I personally like more your monorail version than the original Lego set! Ciao! Davide
  15. Fabulous idea - take your time and enjoy your creation step by step! The first part of the Blue Era section is a really good start! Ciao! Davide
  16. Thanks for your effort! Davide
  17. Indeed a very good first attempt!!! A nice model, compact and with really really nice pantographs!!! Ciao! Davide
  18. Spectacular!!! And photo on real snow is a masterpiece! Nice solution for the external part of the bogie on snowplow side Great stuff! Ciao! Davide
  19. Oooh this is great! I like it a lot - seems really solid, and the bogies may not be perfectly adherent to the prototype, but they work on R40 curves and keep a very good look on straights! Good job! Ciao ! Davide
  20. Good question , I was wondering about it too, so I checked yesterday on the Group, but no news
  21. Spectacular locomotive, the three stripes are very well rendered, and the bogies are really a good compromise of look and functionality! First page well deserved!!! Ciao! Davide
  22. AAAAAh "vintage" looking! Nice idea!
  23. It works nicely and seems smooth! For the yellow sleepers: some hours in the sun, submerged in water mixed with products like Vanish Oxy Action, and these will be again white (keep them monitored during process) I saw your nice 12v layout - it's amazing! No problem at all, it was fun to build (even if only digitally) the 183! I am thinking to try the stickers also on the 727! Ciao! Davide
  24. Correction...I did not keep in consideration the light brick would be too near to the motor, not allowing the cable to be fitted . Doable with leds, but not so original internally... Ok, after a bit of thinking...a possible solution - inspired by late 70's Idea Book 6000. The idea book featured a sticker sheet with the classic car headlight 4 wide pattern. So a sticker representing the grille design on 1x6 brick can be adapted and applied over the prism holder 1x6 brick, leaving the little "stud" of the prism as headlight. The trans-clear color was existing in a lot of parts of the era, and the warm light of 4,5v bricks is appropriate. It reminds me the Ford Transit MKII!!!
  25. Hi there! Nice 183!!! I have an original one with box, and used it a few times - it is a nice set, the "father" of 7720! I like the idea to light up the front and rear headlights! I can understand your doubt - In my opinion the transparent plates fro the 80s do mnot look so good in a 70s set. In the past I tried the below solution in a 7725 in order to keep the double headlights, masking the prism holder beyond the 7030 bricks - I redraw it with 70s parts to give an idea: Lights were a bit dim, so I completely removed the light bricks from the 7725 locomotive. BUT, in this case, the small red headlights of the 70s are completely open...and light can pass through freely. The grill can be faked with plates, so the overall look will resemble a train of the first part of the 70s Original look is better, but a bit of experiments are always welcome!!! Ciao! Davide
