Technic 2019 Set Discussion
blondasek replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@Jim did TLG inform you about the sets for a review already? Or, like with Sariel, tbd? Would be nice if this time TLG did not wait so long to ship them. -
Effe's MOC Corner
blondasek replied to efferman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
efferman.. that is beautiful. I really like to look at your models, they are perfect (I used that mechanism of yours for the outtriggers hidden in the body). But what took me the most (I am sorry :x) from the pictures of that event, is that the biggest achievement which Lego Official Set can get is to display it with a MOC's where it looks astonishing as them. I am talking about the Claas 42054. One of the best looking and accurate model. -
Technic 2019 Set Discussion
blondasek replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Only for me the biggest hype for Technic set's was in years 2013-2016, when each year had something "wow" just to see 2017 H2, when something went wrong? Since 2018 was only a bit better but I do not see any hope to come back to "better times". We have bigger, more complex models but still with limited amount of functions. Which set has more functions than 42043 since it was introduced? Personally I would not have any problem to see more Mercedes trucks based on a real vehicles, same with Volvo's. BWE is a great models, but definitely too big to play with. Also it has been already a few years, since we had servo motor in a set. If I am not wrong, there were only a three sets with it - 41999, 9398 and 42030. I do not believe that it is a matter of price as we get more and more expensive models. I hope that TLG will show us something amazing in 2019 H2, which will represent the true Technic spirit. We know that they can do it :) For now, we just have to wait to see what we will get in next few weeks. -

@efferman thank you very much. Indeed, brilliant mechanism (and works perfect). Have a nice day! -

Wow. Just wow. Since Lego is going close to 4kg models.. :) Efferman - is it possible that you would show more pictures of the front outriggers? There is a really brilliant technic used here. -
Technic 2018 Set Discussion
blondasek replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Cannot wait Jim! This year all models are much, much more better than from 2017, but still I think that 2016 had the best models so far. 2015 was slightly worse than 2016. -
Normally I would agree, but this set has more than 4k pcs... It could be a bit smaller but fully functional, don't you think so? Mercedes Arocs is smaller, but much more functional than this big baby.

Opinions on LEGO Technic Theme
blondasek replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
What I see as the problem here is that we have bigger sets with the same amount of functions/same functions in weird colours theme another year. Since 42043 there was no set which was at least complex as Mercedes. That crane is big, but is it better than 42009? I enjoyed building Bugatti, it is a great, great model with a few awesome features, but it is not a model to play with. I hope next year, with a new valves and gearbox rings we will see really complicated, but not so huge, flagship model which will be focused on functions. Backhoe loader on Class tires maybe? -
42083 - Bugatti Chiron

Sure, I will. Nothing much for now, I only shaped the hood differently and I am figuring out how I want to make the doors. -

I get my box for 310 euro from official store and I just finished building it. This is really complex and well done model. Minor flaws like shape of a hood (I have changed it with a few parts) and suspension (it does go back from a pressure, but only a ~1,5 studs maybe) but in overall it is a piece of a beauty. Specially the back. I love it. Looks awesome next to the Porsche. -
42083 - Bugatti Chiron

Emm.. that's really bad, specially from Sariel's side, as he reviewed the model a few days before and he also saw the issue with suspension during the live building and shortly after presentation... Thank you Jim! -

Ok, because I can't find an answer. Did anyone ask Designers about the front suspension? In any interview? -

Jim, I really hope that your review will be honest and cruel. That's a shame that this model has such a big flaw. -
If old motors will not be compatible with the new system for Technic, than it will be a disaster. Buying new sets just for the same (or in the new cover) engines, just with new type of connector is just a pity. Also not mention, that there is no reason for keeping the PU from the Trains not compatible with PU from Boost...

There is any chance that you will find some time to take a look on that before (if) you will disassemble that piece of beauty?
-
Only a few questions Sariel - at the end of live building, you were trying really hard to do not show the flaw of the front suspension or it is just me? Can you confirm, after touching at least two models, that it is a problem? Did anyone from designers said anything about that?

42083 - Bugatti Chiron
blondasek replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The live building just finished and at the end you can clearly see that Sariel was trying to hide that dysfunction of the front suspension. That's bad... I can also write that my Porsche do not have any problems with the front suspension, however I had to modify that after I add engines (XL and Servo) under the hood with the small battery box on the sport bag place. It was necessary to replace them to harder red one and mount wheels one stud lower. I hope that solution for Bugatti will be as simple as in Porsche, but it doesn't look good when such a pricey model has such a big flaw. -
Hello Guys, Do anyone of you made some frame which can "replace" this part? Technic, Pin Connector Block 1 x 5 x 3 To be honest, I am just tired of trying to make it right. I have two of that parts in 42069, but I don't want to disassemble that model. I was trying to find something on google and youtube, but I didn't. Thank you in advance for help!

Technic 2018 Set Discussion
blondasek replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yeup. That's why I mention, that I am not sure that it is not correct. I do not have access to my older models, so I can't compare them. And about white panels? Anyone of you had this problem? I will add pictures tomorrow. -
Technic 2018 Set Discussion
blondasek replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hello. I don't know that this topic was raised here before, but I just get my Anthem and I have a big "problem". The white panels, are not white (half of them are beige...) and this parts: Technic, Axle Connector 2L (Smooth with x Hole + Orientation) (LBG, DBG) are not straight - but in this case I am not sure that this is not how it should be, because other colours from different sets also are not straight. To be honest, I did not notice it earlier in other sets. Most likely every set that I have was made in Hungary. About the panels, I will try to reach Lego support. It is visible and looks awful. Half of the container is milkish, half is white. Anyone of you have the same problem? Pictures of black one conector/-s which I have (truck is not near me): https://imgur.com/nBhe9TL
