Problems with the Technic Skin
blondasek replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hello @Jim :) Just a small question - will we ever come back to the "old" theme or we will stick with the current one? I have to admit that I am not the fan, pinned topics are less visible than usualy ;P Have a nice day :D -
You will be able to send them pictures and a video as well if needed when they will reply. Prepare the box pictures (label with a few digits, numbers and letters - production serial number). That is how I have got a replacement parts for Ducatti (5 out of 8 pins with axle were dark red instead of red) and I am expecting a reply on Fiat 500. @vectormatic I would let myself to disagree in terms of lowering the quality. The problem is not due to the Covid, but rather the change of the way how they are preparing the plastic pastils with colours. That is the biggest problem and they have to modify it. Somehow parts from Denmark are usually close to perfection in terms of the colour, where the parts from Hungary are very often faulty. I do understand that there is a huge gap in quantity, but still - I do not care for this price about that. I do not expect them to change the procedures completely, but looking on the pictures here I see that new batches have problems with different parts - even within the same parts. That is below any standards and they are basically stretching the line too much. Sian will be produced for at least 20 more months, there is still plenty of time to correct it. Anyway most of the people will not come back to Lego asking for a replacement (which is bad) so they should not have a problem to replace some parts for everyone who already bought the product. Aaand that is everything from me. I do advise everyone who has that model to contact Lego (and post here their reply!) and I am asking everyone who will buy this in the future, to post the pictures here to determine if TLG is doing anything to make it better. Have a nice week! :)

If you will not let them know that you are not satisfied, how they supposed understand that they are doing not enough? Send them pictures, ask for official statement, post it here. If there will be enough "bad" PR on this, they will have to make some changes. We have to expect from Lego the best for this price, not a freaking maze with multiple shades of lime. Personally I am reporting each and one issue I have with their sets and so far i did receive new parts which are free of problems. However I do not have the Sian yet, on purpose - nobody was able to present here the Lego reply on the colour issue when they did report it. If any of you did report it to them.

Problems with the Technic Skin
blondasek replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@Jim same problem was with the Town theme, I see that now it is working. -
Awesome. Gladly I can buy them in the country I am living currently. Now I need only to wait for Buggy to be released. PS. out of topic, did you think to change the gearing as now you have more power? Do you think it may work on this batteries?
-
Ok, I may understand why you think like that, but if nobody will be requesting a replacement, they will never try to do more. Even for such a small thing like I had with Ducati, where 5 out of 8 pin holes with axle were basicaly dark red instead of red, they did send me a new parts which were acurate and as they should. Still not too late :) Does anyone in this thread who bought Lambo and has colour issue, asked lego to provide a new parts? What was the answer?

To those who buy custom instructions: I want to ask you something
blondasek replied to jedisquidward's topic in LEGO Town
As you did ask, I will tell you this. I believe that most of the "best sellers" for modular MOC are trully an alt of the available sets. That is it :) I do not have time nor patient to play with Bricklink order, as well as I prefer to have everything from one box. For last few years I am buying at least two copies of each modulars, with hope that if someone will create a great alt MOC out of it, I will have it ready to build. That is it :) Have a great weekend :) -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
blondasek replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
It is perfect for China Town in US part of the modulars! :> Must have. -
Guys, please report to Lego every colour inconsistency and demand replacement - maybe they will learn to invest more in quality. As for the Pin hole with axle from Ducati, I did get a normal red replacement after two emails (at first they were claiming, that it is ok to have 3 red and 5 dark red). So everything is fine. Did any of you who bought Sian requested a replacement from Lego for any of the parts? What was the answer?
-
Hello :) Do you have the same problem with 2x2 curved with slope pieces that are so thin that you can see the bricks underneath them? It is really bothering and visible on the doors (upper part) and on the roof. Do you have the same experience with that model? Not sure if I should demand a replacement parts from Lego.
-
@Jim and maybe someone who knows - is there a way that you, or any other CC could get an official statement on the instruction errors (will they print a new ones without them in the future batches?), colour differences and any other issues like with the new tan gears? I remember that when I’ve got mustang (creators), I’ve found an article about printed parts replacement on one website, but nothing on official Lego site.
-
@dromeracer as I wrote, I have already sent an email to Lego with batch number and other details from the box. Not the first time when I had to replace some parts (Mack black roof panels, printed parts for Mustang from creator, etc.). I was just surprised that 3 parts out of 8 came in normal red colour and 5 in that dark red. Specially that they were in one bag, so in the factory they should notice that. And here we are getting to the conclusion - Lego is accepting slouch a big difference (it is not small) and counting in eventual replacement for customers who will ask. At least that is what I think.
-
Correct, I have that pins in two different colours, just not in that set - here pins are in normal red. i have already wrote to Lego with all the box details, hope they will send me the correct colour parts. i was just curious how big that problem is. That is also a reason why I am waiting with lambo - that is the reply I’ve got from Lego about 42115: “I’m sorry you’re unhappy with the colour of some of the LEGO® 42115 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 parts. There can be differences in colour from time to time, but any variations should only be very, very slight. For new sets, you can see color difference for parts that use different types of plastic, it should be barely noticeable and I will pass on your comments of what you saw and that you don't like it. To answer your question, we would only change a part if there was a serious issue or if enough fans tell us about it and it becomes an issue. Even after that, it wouldn't be right away, we would carefully try to make it better and change that process for a future set. I've let our quality team know about your helpful comments” I have cut out usual stuff. I have attached links to your review and Sariel’s one as well. I am waiting to see if the next batch will have a correct colours.

Hey, Did anyone of you get wrong colours of part Axle and Pin Connector Hub with 1 Axle (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=22961&name=Technic, Axle and Pin Connector Hub with 1 Axle&category=[Technic, Connector]#T=C&C=5)? I’ve got 3 in normal red and 5 in some kind of dark red colour. I will contact Lego about that, but still.
-
Gosh, Stewen - the picture of the Lambo is a lego model, not a real car. If you really want to go that way, please make this blue car out of your picture as a lego model and put it on the box. If it will look at least as half good as on the leaked picture, I will be the first to come to Hungary with a beer or whatever you wish to drink. EDIT: about the Lego leak with rims - it was already proven that Lego adjust the colours for the body. By the way, I am looking forward to that model. Last month I was able to get a second Bugatti for less than a 200 euro, so I hope I will get the Sian for ~200-220 as well.
-
Guys, nobody is expecting them to be perfect. But it is not ok, that models which we just finished are trash mechanicaly. End of story. We should get a good, accurate and well built base which we can improve. Even, if it does not look cool, it should work as in real life so the kids can "learn" basics from it.
-
Lambo hype! Waiting to see what TLG will bring to us. And about comparing official models to MOC's - we should critize TLG for every failure in a basic functions, vide Bugatti suspension. This is not rocket sience, this is not a matter of taste (bodywork), but a basic function. Porshe was much, much better than Bugatti in terms of mechanics. What I personally expect from UCS technic cars which costs 400 euro, is a correct and as much as possible, like in real car. Appealing look and one or two interesting features. And more printed parts :D (why not :P). It can have small gaps, we can fill them, it can be "overcomplicated" or simplified in some parts, but basics should be correct, always... Lego should prioritize Technic "DNA" more than anything, if they are selling that beasts as UCS Lego Technic Car.
