  1. Collectable mini-minifig series ... It was easy to "feel" out @Captain Braunsfeld Alas you beat me too it lol ... I bought the figs as well but not the ship as I love the old cartoon. And as i sat looking at them on the desk i thought of doing the same lol a formitable new captain terrorizes the seas lol. But you got me on the mimes lol Well done the ship looks great In B&W ... Now wait a year and make the "technicolor" version lol
  2. Update! So I finalized the design and bricks are comming in! The first two main players are assembled. I can not take credit for their designs but I Am glad they were shared. The first is the compact air compressor designed by MOCbuild101. It was linked in another post and after watching the video of it running with auto shut offI had to include it ... And convert the layout to pneumatics lol. So I built the outter "shell" in LDD and it was the perfect fit! The only modifications I had to do to the switch house was open the floor up in one spot for the air to exit. Also raise the interior floor one plate. Here it is in the Brick! The next Design that I need to give a shout out to is by Dennis Tomsen. I had built a switcher in LDD but wasnt really happy that it looked nothing like a real world engine. Yes it looked as though it could have been but it just wasnt "right". I stumbled across the Lego Koef and instantly knew I needed that engine. The only issue was it was designed off the old 9V box and IR reciver. Now my experience with IR at shows is not been good. Sure its ok if the train makes another lap on the layout but when your looking for precice control no matter line of sight ... Powered up has me sold. So after studying the the instructions I built a powered up version. Now there are compromises ... The powered up hub is taller than the old battery box. But I only had to add three plates to the cab to make it look right so I'm happy with this comprise. I am still waiting on the other half of the LBG hinge plates so thats the gap in the back. Here you can see there is room to add a Legless driver ... Which I will eventually The layout should fit on a 80"x40" table. I decided to add curves to each side with yard limit signs so I can connect to the club layout in the back. I have all the track but Im waiting on some of the parts for the decouplers and switch stands. Edit: So got some more time tonight to build . . . seems I'm still missing more parts than I thought. But the cars are built simple with different colors so they can be ordered ... I originally wanted them to look like the "my own train" if the layout does well later this year then I plan to upgrade the rolling stock.
  3. I'm really sad I missed this this year ... Great work looks great
  4. Its oddly refreshing when you look at blueprints all day to come across lego prints! Lol I don't know the headaches involved with injection molding but im familiar with forged metals and machining lol so trust me when I say I appreciate the work you put into your product.
  5. This is well done ! Well worth the wait! Looking forward to the future of our black flags! I suspect the parrot hiding in the underbrush ... Very suspicious
  6. There will always be this debate ... But at the end of the day models that generally keep with the "spirit" of lego are accepted those that do not are generally shunned. I admire the look of your sprocket.
  7. Thank you as well! Im determined to own a official ship designed by you one day lol! Hopefully this gets more votes as it has that tie to the original!
  8. I save the ships and route in a file before submitting forms ... This way I can know where my ships are if I dont sail them for a bit ... Plus it lets me plan out all 4 fleets and simply copy and paste into the form lol
  9. Im glad that came across well! Thank you. No worries I figured life had gotten ahold of you. I look forward to our next chapter
  10. Clever use of the short mast!
  11. Eagar to learn of the special trees lol
  12. @raised I was more thinking as an accessory The joiners on each end of the track but no sleepers between. But yes i had inpection pits and street trollies in mind
  13. Yes lol ... Like I've said in private. The result is well worth the "unconventional stickers" only the true purists will scoff lol
  14. I love the detail yoive included. However i do have some suggestions. Ditch the Pan. While you've executed it spot on I don't feel that should be your selling point. You have an amazing model ... Mention it was modeled after the house and showcase your work. I feel you would have more luck with this if it had a back ... Similar to the haunted house. Alternatively you could modular"ize" it
  15. Why thank you ... I thought crimson sails were more appropriate
  16. I think this would be useful ... Also do the curves (similar to the old grey/blue tracks but with the new style rail profile. It could be used for putting rail in pavement
  17. Haha your the one who I talked about using it ... I wont give up how many other times you may or may not have admitted to using it lol.
  18. Nice use of the boat shell! The only thing I would change is to lower the spanker closer to the deck.
  19. Thank you! Its a play on scale lol it is built on the large rowboat base but extended outwards and aftwards. In theory I wanted it to "look" like a much larger ship and to further play on scale my intention was to man the vessel with angry dwarfs. A small crew but a very managable little gun boat lol
  20. Thank you Those are indeed "puck" or swivels Thanks ... Arabian? Interesting
  21. She was built to cause havock during the Pilots Association Events. The crew had celebrated brining destruction to the association. Perhaps they celebrated a little too hard ... or was it a little too long? As they awoke from their drunken slumber it seemed as if they had missed the whole event! OoC- I built this for the challenge but life got in the way of getting it to post in time. So Im posting it now. Comments and Criticism welcomed
  22. @TomSkippy If going for a "ideas" project then I would recomend against coloring. Stickers could be a viable solution. Just look at a lot of @kurigan ships he utilizes colored electrical tape. I have done this to simulate dummy ports where I need structural stability.
  23. Im really liking the work your doing!
