While this is looking great ... I question just how tall are Irish women? ... I am 6'3 and feel like I would have trouble reaching the celing shelves from a desk width away -

questions about 60197 - city train
Roadmonkeytj replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
a caution about this. Too much bank and a stopped train falls off the track top first. -
I dont purchase unsorted bulk very much admittedly but when I first brought my lego collection home from my late mothers it was almost all loose brick in 6 tubs (big rubbermaids) I had chosen at the time to sort by color then later function. I would take a tub 2 qt at a time and sort into black, grey (all), white, blue (all), red, yellow, brown tan and green went into a bin to be sorted later, all pink and purple went to its own bin (Where it still remains lol), orange and the shades of yellow went in a bin with dark red to be sorted later. I did this over and over until I had he tubs all empty and sorted. I have never catalogued my bricks as there is far too many but I imagine I would tackle it the same way where I do little bits at a time.

Love this tag idea ... Im afraid I would have the same issue with work ... considering we work 60+ hrs a week lol -
So if its built digitally with all proper connections so it could be built in brick once those were available your uninterested? Is your general opinion of digital that since you can in theory build the impossible that the user does? Im not wanting to fight just merely understand the line of though you have on the subject. I ask because I have recived one of @ProvenceTristram files with the intention to build it myself. I can say this ... Even in the train forum where we all want to hold our toys any play with them ... I have thoroughly enjoyed all of his Digital Trains. The attention to detail he builds in is fantastic. I can tell you after seeing it personally there is nothing in his designs that prevent them from being built. I feel the fourm would have missed a gem had he not shared any of them. So are you sugesting a seperate forum that is a mirror of the current forum subtopics that is strictly digital?
-
Why is my favorite part the flickering oil lamp lmao? Seriously though great build all around. The detail you can add at this scale is remarkable. I am in love with the firebox and the boiler tubes! But all the little ladders and levers and the jack chains are great!

I may be late to the parade but this is my take on it. I build in both mediums (digital and physical) I find in digital im not limited by my brick selection so in some ways I dont have to be as creative as if I didnt have the brick to do the same thing with. However I personally build largely in LDD some creations make it over to brick but most do not. I do have a room full of lego but i do not dissassemble ... Most of my brick is assembled and boxed for shows ... Leaving a mere 24 totes of buildable brick with a not so vast selection. So I find myself building in LDD then ordering on bricklink if its something for a display. But sometimes I have the bricks on hand. I work for a living and have never seen a silver spoon ... More so a wooden one that was carved by hand lol. So I have a modest budget to persue my hobby.

Blue base with trans tiles or studs over. Add waves with raised trans clear slopes The beach starts with a layer of dk tan then a few studs back regular tan A few trans clear against the dk tan give the idea of tide.

Is there currently any 1:1 fake Lego in the market?
Roadmonkeytj replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Can I ask this ... If the set looks to be lego with correct looking lego marks then are you concerned about the resale value then or just owning "the set" If all the marks look right and the price is good then I would buy it to add to my collection. -
Really sharp looking cars! Thank you for sharing your technique as well.

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Roadmonkeytj replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@Capt Wolf @Bregir @anyone else that might know Does BoBS have an official logo or banner image? I want to blog about the game on classic pirates -
Have a gander through THIS GALLERY and see if that or an adaptation of that might work And if you like those side rods get a hold of zephyr1934 to buy some.
-
@zephyr1934 came up with a neat solution for the lone ranger train that might work for you ... If Its not posted before I get home tonight I will try to find the link for you.

Im really liking the new engines! -
.... Man this just made me realised how little I actually know about rigging .... Thank you for sharing honestly. It is great info. I notice it mentions several times starboard first. Is there a reason for this?

Wow ... That was some careening! Glad to see the fleet made it to kings port Nice micro as well -
Update! One car ... Half car ... Cut. Here you see the conductor radioing to the engineer in front of the new stop bumpers And yes they do stop a train car with speed. And do fold up if hit full speed. Of course your car will derail. The layout changed slightly I couldn't get three cars in the one siding so I had to reconfigure. Final detail parts are still trickling in but the cars are complete aside from the two tankers In the video I dont have the air connected as I have to route lines And I left the part where I try to run through the decoupler
-
I really like this? The wall detail is great and you really grabbed the photo well. Will you do an interior?
-
I don't use any social media other than forums for lego. I do have pintrest account as sometimes there are links on pintrest but I mostly use it to head to the original site which is usually Flickr. I actually message people on Flickr about builds so technically that may count lol. My LUG uses instagram and facebook aswell as our club website and we do get quite a few followers that way.

Think of a ship like a Lady. She should have curves! The ship in the background is quite nice as far as curve the center of the ship is the lowest and widest part (aside from stern galleries) I would recomend only using one plate on top of the prefab stern and work in to the center (actually not exact center but just forward of it) This is one I never got around to finishing much past the photo here but it gives an idea what Im talking about. I actually feel like I have almost too much curve in the center. But you notice the stearn galleries are right down near the prefabs

First off I've enjoyed watching this ship come together in the shipwrights thread I think it really turned out well ... Youved packed alot of mostly accurate detail in this plus the rigging and sails is phenomenal. I know you mentioned some displeasure reguarding the reef lines ... I've seen them done well just by drawing them on as well! But honestly even if you had left them off It would still look great! Saying that I would like to include your vessel on the Classic Pirates page as well as a future front page post ... However your pictures are a little dark and off centered background makes them seem not framed well ... You mentioned working on better pictures ... If you can update your post with better pictures I would love to make that happen! The three I quoted are really good angles the clarity is better on the two broadsides though.
