That's brilliant! I love it! i'm particularly interested by the Batman statue. Where'd you get those parts printed in grey? -
The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part 2019 Set Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
My points exactly. I have a very strict budget, and I like to be very precise with my money. I want to know if I should put money aside from this year or make some more sets from this year a priority over what's coming next year. Screw Lepin. I mean, look at the junk they made based on the Ninjago Movie - they made sets based on the trailer. And, frankly, I suspect they're doing something similar as we speak. I want news! Information! Pictures! -
Definitely a lovely little set. I'm certainly going to get this should I have the opportunity.

So what's I'm hearing is, Rex Dangervest is gonna pretty much be a fusion of every character Chris Pratt has ever played?
-
Looking good! Minor suggestion; have you considered rotating the top portion of the Market Street house next to the Brick Bank? With the two sloped roof sections lined up, it would look nice and continuous, and since there's nothing on the other side it'll still fit.

{shrugs} Well, the exteriors tend to be bland and repetitive. Also, I'm afraid of heights.

Vampirates? Is that official? I thought I was just Virus Vampires . . . Atill, nice. Smaller builds this time, but the quality is definitely increasing, and I like what you're doing by mixing and matching the Vampire minifig parts. Where did you get that gunmetal-coloured year 1 knight armour part, anyway? I thought those ony came in silver/neon orange and the various colours from the ULTIMATEs series. The gate's pretty, but I'm not seeing, y'now, an opening . . . I guess it's gone now anyway so it's all moot . . . or is it? XD Can'r wait to see what's next!

Let's hope it's global. I want that thing!

This is brilliant. I'm impressed. ^^ I particularly like what you're doing over on the Ninjago corner. Nice work splitting the Docks apart. I can't believe I didn't think of that! I might just do something similar in mine. ^^

I'm seeing a new cape with holes in it. Cool. -
Y'now, I never really understood why people like skyscrapers so much . . . either in Lego or real life. Don't suppose anyone can shed light on the subject?

Jurassic World 2018 - Rumors and Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Licensed
It makes sense. After all, this new character for TLM2; Rex Dangervest, is supposed to be a dinosaur tamer, right? That means they're keeping the dinosaurs molds fresh and in production, because at least a couple of TLM2 sets will have dinosaurs in them. So since they have the molds going anyway, they might as well keep making Jurassic sets. Here's hoping we'll get something good for Lost World next year.- 1,290 replies

Doubtful, but if there is such a set and it follows the trend of City and Docks, it won't be released until the Summer wave anyway. So we probably won't be hearing about it until then.

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
A train station with only 97 parts? Now you've piqued my curiosity . . . The Drone Chase might be interesting, depending on what the drone's like, and I feel th Parachute Arrest happens to include some sort of new fabric-y parachute, I might get it. The rest isn't incredibly interesting, especially since I doubt the new Fire stuff would look better in my village than the new Winter Village Fire Station. Though I'm a little bit curious about what 'Downtown Firefighters' is . . hopefully a set with at least one big civilian building. If it is, and the building looks good enough, I might get it for that. {shrugs} We'll have to wait and see. I really hope the new road plates at least match up with the old ones. It's gonna be so awkward if I have to replace all the roads I bought just this year . . . The rest of the non-Fire/Police sets I might get, depending on how good they are as models and how much my village needs them. -
Wow. Is that a real set?

The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part 2019 Set Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Heh. Personally I expect it to be more like the Joker Manor; a version of that Statue of Liberty shanty town, probably condensed down a bit. But a Modular Building version of that . . especially if they extended it out into a 32x48, or, dare I say it, a 32x64 . . .that would be amazing. -
They do on occasion: Batgirl and Polka Dot Man from TLBM. Still, that sounds great. Now I really hope it becomes available in Australia soon.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Interesting. Could we expect to see a spiritual successor to the Taj Mahal? After all, the Modular Buildinfs are given the first number in the year's lineup because they're typically considered the most important, the 'flagship' of the wave. The only reason next year's Modular wouldn't have the first number would be if there was something the design team thinks will supplant it as the wave's big thing. I'm excited to see it, but also sad because I'll never be able to afford whatever it is. -
That's the idea, yes; save on bricks by not filling in the side walls. (The stud or two of extra space on the interior doesn't hurt, either) Just in case anyone cares; I've finished the front facade and am in the process of building up the back. It's . . well, it looks alright, but I ended up using no less than eight large 1x4x6 window/door frames on the front alone. I'm not happy about that and I'm working on scrounging up enough parts to at least replace the two in the uppermost section (because the bottom floor needs the doors and windows, and while I'd obviously prefer to build up the middle floor more, the smooth finish with the printed panels from Ninjago 2011 is growing on me), but in the meantime. Since I designed it to go to the right of my modified, Modular-ised Sanctum Sanctorum (and the apartment building is in-set which makes it difficult to put it next to an official Modular without partly blocking the fire escape), I've set the facade two studs further back than on the official Modulars, and incorporated a sort of 'gradient' so that the upper two floors overhang the ground floor by one stud, with the exception of an exposed chimney on the left (designed to look like it was covered but has suffered wear and tear. (Actually, I also added a large, brick-built sign above the door to the ground floor grocery shop that hangs out even more.) The interior definitely needs a lot of work. So does the rear wall. And the roof. But for the time being, I'm satisfied enough with the appearance of the front - replacing large frames aside - that I've put it in my meagre little layout. Apologies for not providing pictures; Eurobricks doesn't like them. (That's definitely the only reason. I'm not embarrassed that my pitiful first attempt can't hope to measure up to the quality of the MOCs on this site or anything.)

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
We got the Creator 3-in-1 Modular Sweet Surprises just this year. That's candy shop enough for me. I want to see some sort of big mansion. I've always felt like Winter Village needs some sort of governing figure. A 'Mr. Winter', if you will. Plus it'd be extra residential stuff. -
Called it. Hopefully the Time Twins. We still don't know what happened to them. And if it is them it would work with the idea that this season will involve time travel.
-
I want to think that the problems with TLNM were a result of the source material and the writers being unable to properly work with it, and that this will herald a return to the quality we saw from the first two movies. I hope so, anyway. Because I feel this one failed too, it'll probably be the last Lego movie for a good while.

I would absolutely love to see this. it would be hilarious. Hinestly, though, ae have to remember that the Oni are shapeshifters. It's more likely that they're simply going to assume the forms of the previous villains. I really hope we finally get an answer to what happened to the Ultra Dragon after the Final Battle, though. Yes yes yes. XD Maybe the story of Harumi and Lord Garmadon? After all, the Oni, who are supposed to have three leaders that the Oni Masks are based on, will likely supplant Lord Garmadon as the main villain. It's a otitle weird that they just left Lord Garmadon to rot in prison. Maybe he'll break out, round up Pythor, some leftover Stone Army warriors, maybe some Serpentine, and try to smash the ninja? Or some more complicated plan? That way the Ninja will defend Lord Garmadon once and for all, thus clearing the way for an Oni-focused season.

I couldn't disagree more. Grey is an incredibly boring colour and I lamented its prevalence in her suits. This is much better. Also, yay, seven hundredth and seventy-seventh post!
