There were single-tank air tank parts in the Lego Ninjago Movie. Worth a look? I really like this set. I was going to make the Train station my Christmas purchase for this year, but . . well, it'll still be available next year. And this thing is a beauty - though I'm noting that the light grey and dark red evokes the Gostbusters firehouse quite a bit. I feel like the bench is a bit superfluous, and the tree is ugly, but the frozen fountain is beautiful - even if I wish the entire thing was done in Pearl gold, not just those little ornament parts. The new firefighter uniforms are a gorgeous combination with the pearl gold helmets. (Though I kind of wish they included some breathing equipment - but, of course, I can add that myself any time.) And the fire truck is simplistic, but functional . . and I'm open to MODing it, of course.

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
Well, Brothers-Brick has an official press release with some good pictures. I still think it's beautiful. For anyone who's interested (like myself), I've counted the studs; it occupies a 28-stud wide and 16-stud deep footprint. But the garage isn't large enough to contain the fire engine, so it sticks out at the back if you keep it there. -

I don't think there's enough room for it - it looks to be built around a 1x1 SNOT core, like the tree from last year's seasonal set. -
Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion

It says on the box that there is a light brick. Also, count again; including the statue, there are seven minifigures. (I'm guessing you missed the one on the ladder of the fire truck.) And, to be honest, I feel like Lego had outgrown the classic spruce trees. We can get much better results (albeit more expensive) with brick built trees. And I'm happy to see that my earlier assumption about the fire truck was wrong. It looks cute, too. I know that I was initially annoyed that this year's release is a fire station after building one myself out of the Friendship House earlier this year, but seeing the actual model, I have to say that I like it. Definitely going to get this one. -
Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Well, we've got a picture! It's . . . not what I was expecting, to be honest. The tree is ugly, definitely scrapping it for parts. But the frozen fountain looks gorgeous, and there's a new baby in what I think is dark green! You can never have too many babies! As for the actual fire station, turns out it's mostly dark red and it's just the doors that are bright red. There's a lot of tan ornamentation, too . . normally I criticise the use of tan, since it's such a dull and common colour, but it's used sparingly and tastefully here, so I approve. One thing that surprises me; it looks like there's no fire engine? I suppose there could be one hiding inside the garage, but usually they display everything on the front of the box. Looking at it a second time, one more excellent detail; they've finally reused that orange scarf piece that Casual Jay had in the TLNM CMF. And I think the Dalmatian is a new print, too. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) -
I was assuming that the stone warrior megafig would be based off the one in the museum, when we first met Misako in the show, who was defeated because he fell into the Bottomless Pit. I suppose it might not, though . . but I can't think of anything else it would be based off. And we got a part count for the Samurai X Mech, too, remember? 150 pieces or something like that. I don't think that's enough for two large-scale humanoids. It makes sense that the Overlord would be in that set. I was already going to get it, but now it's a must-buy. I'm only disappointed that it means we probably aren't going to see a brick-built 'true form of the Overlord' model. (Something that I have dreamed of for years.)
-
Did I hear a four-armed megafig? . . I am definitely buying that set - actually, wait. Maybe it'll be in the same set as the Earth Driller? That might explain why it has such a massive price hike from the previous version. And the USR canopy . . I think that could seat three people maximum? Bit of a shame, but acceptable. I'll be disappointed if the Venomari and Pythor are the only Serpentine we get. But a new Overlord fig could be interesting for sure - especially one with four arms. I'm not incredibly interested in Spinjitzu, but these attachment points could be interesting. And I have mixed feelings about another new mask already. We've only had the movie ones for a year and a half, and I really like the two-part assembly style they use. It'll be a shame if they go.

Looking great. I particularly like the massive sign on the Freshness Food Market. @CopperTablet Yes, TLM2 will take place at least partly in 'Apocalypseburg' . . which is basically Bricksburg after an apocalypse. . . . No one else answered.

Crazy theory; everyone's complaining about the absence of remaining stuff from Hunted, like Nya's Tank, the other dragons, the other Hunter vehicles . . . what if the 2019 Winter wave includes two or three sets from Hunted with things that wouldn't have otherwise been spoilers? Like, a set of Nya's tank that includes Oni form Mystake (and hopefully a show-accurate Dareth too), a Dragon Hunter Speeder set that includes Faith, and maybe even that Wind Dragon who showed up a couple of times?

Amen. All they'd need is a new face print.

Twenty sets? I'm actually a bit worried about oversaturation now . . yikes . . . Could there be a D2C in the first wave? -
Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
Dude, I live in Australia. I refuse on principle to pay $30 just for shipping, and considering that my budget is severely limited, I can count on the fingers of one finger the number of ties I've hit $200 AUD on an order. And who said anything about blaming Lego? All I said was that I need more residential houses, so I hope Lego makes some. There's no blame there, just speculation. -

The shops in my parts don't stock sets from any earlier than this year except on clearance, so the only ones of those that are available to me is the Friendship House, which I have, and the Juniors thing, which is ugly. And I refuse to pay secondary market rates. -
Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I'm on board with that idea. I need more houses in my town, since apparently Friends AND Creator both have dropped residential buildings. Here's hoping that changes in 2019 . . . -
Cute. The trees look a bit overbuilt, but I like the design of the building.

How to integrate Ninjago City & Docks in a Modular town layout?
Fenghuang0296 replied to SwissBrick's topic in LEGO Town
I would have suggested building a custom Modular that fits the 'standard' Modulars on one side and the Ninjago City parts, with the elevated walkway, on the other. (I haven't got the budget for it RN, but I'm planning something similar based on the massive toy robot we see as part of the Ninjago City skyline in the movie that never (yet) became a set.) But having it as a Venice-like separated area is a good idea too. It's something I might keep in mind if I somehow manage to get the original set and the Docks both . . . not that that's likely, my budget will be stretched enough just getting the Docks . . That said, forgive me if this is something you've done intentionally, but you've attached the main Ninjago City and the Docks backwards. It's supposed to be that the stairs on the right side of the Docks lead into the big walkway in the main city. I suggest either rotating the City 90 degrees or the Docks 180 . . or maybe switch the positions of the Docks and the Temple of Airjitzu, if you want the big dock to be facing the main ocean area that you have. Still, I like your solution. Best of luck!- 47 replies

(Sorry for necroposting.) So, I tried switching some grey arms from an old LotR torso with sand blue arms from the Ninjago Movie, for a custom, using the old tips on this thread. Thing is, the left arm's fine, but the right is a bit loose. Is this age, or just shifts in the production process? And is there any way I can make it just a little stiffer?

Yes please! I want to know this too.

I like the new promo. It looks stylish. Here's hoping I'll be able to get it. Even if it's not really City building material, it's cute all the same. And worst case, there's a whole bunch of useful parts. -

Looking good. ^^ And I see the Doctor in that pic with Credence and Graves. :P -
Okay, so I've got an old 16x32 baseplate lying around, and I am eyeing up the Assembly Square as a potential future purchase. But, of course, Assembly Square is 48 studs wide and won't properly fit into a layout that consists of standard 32x32s in a grid. There'd be a big gap. I don't much like that. So, I am giving serious thought to throwing together some spare parts and making an effort at building a MOC 16-wide Modular Building. My current plan is to see what I can do with the parts I already have, then once I have a working design, Bricklink (or some other method of ordering parts) whatever I need. But since this is my first time designing a major building, I know there are people with a lot more experience than I at things like this. So I want to know what sort of advice people can give a noob like me?
