I think I can get the set for $750. If I can get $450 back right off the bat, this might be a no brainer. I imagine I could get a decent amount for the manual as well.

Hi guys, I have a line on a MISB UCS Falcon for a decent price. I plan on modifying it anyway, so I know there are some parts I could sell off to help defray the investment cost. Other than the gray rigging pieces, which other pieces are commanding high dollars on the after market? How much could I expect to make back? Thanks!

Is it normal to get extra stickers in sets?

How to tell Light Grey from Light Bluish Grey?
kibosh replied to Merkurius's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I am by no means an expert, but that does look like the new gray to me. Ask him to stick a piece of old gray on it to see for sure. -
Do you want the Lego collectible bubble to burst?
kibosh replied to Gomek's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I still the think the bubble will burst to a degree. More and more people are buying sets and hoarding them. When they realize not all sets appreciate wildly in value, they'll have to start blowing out stock to recoup what they can. This will help me, the guy who just wants LEGO bricks. I buy way more second hand LEGO than new off the shelf. LEGO has already lost most of my sales. -
How to tell Light Grey from Light Bluish Grey?

I agree with this wholeheartedly. The new grays are FAR superior to the old, dull ones. I do love dark blue if a model is built with it, and no black. If black is also part of the model, the dark blue just becomes black. And yes, more sand colors! -
Perfect! That's for clearing up the EN equivalents. Those XL wheels are considerably larger!
-
Perfect. Thanks! So if I ended up needing larger wheels, the XL BBBs would be an option?
-
How do the BBB train wheels compare to the size of the wheels from the Emerald Night? I have an idea for a train, but I'd like to get the wheels first. The EN wheels seem a lot more affordable than BBB so I'd prefer to use them if they are roughly the same size.

I can't even believe people are still complaining about the color change. I'll gladly trade my old gray for new gray. -
Are FOLs particularly susceptible to the IKEA effect?
kibosh replied to AmperZand's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't get it. -
I'm not convinced this wasn't a publicity stunt. Look at the wreckage. That thing disintegrated. I would expect a lot more larger pieces to have survived. And it's getting the artist and the show a lot of publicity.

I hope to be getting my first Mebabloks sets in the next few days through a trade for some of my older Star Wars toys. The Call of Duty sets look really nice. I ok forward to giving them a chance, and forming a new opinion of them. I am going into it with an open mind!

Yes, Craigslist is also a good place, but patience is the key. You almost have to be ready to leave your seat the moment you see the ad. And yes, pricing varies wildly. You will always see people stating something like, "Legos like this sell for over $18/pound easy. I'll sell it to you for $15!" I steer clear of them because they have really unrealistic expectations. I always ask a few basic questions before committing: Is the lot a whole collection, or were parts already sold off? What sorts of sets might be included? When were they purchased? If it's not the whole collection, chances of putting together full sets is slim. I offer less for these. If it contains Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc. I'm willing to pay more. If it's older Lego, it won't contain newer colors or newer parts. I offer less in theses cases. And I have had ZERO luck at Goodwill type places.

Look for garage sale pages on Facebook in your area.

This weekend I was able to build most of 7964 Republic Frigate (90%) and a complete 79103 Turtle Lair Attack. The Frigate is missing basic pieces I just need time to find, and the TMNT set is missing the stickers. Pics to follow soon!

Get Organized - Ultimate LEGO Brick Labels (500+ labels)

I plan to start building my storage closet utilizing several Stack-On storage modules this weekend, and I'll be making use of your labels in the near future. -
I think the quality of the Disney CMFs is the worst yet. These are made in China, no?

Does LEGO actually destroy their molds or not?
kibosh replied to Transparency for Effect's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Modeling the piece would be the easy part. Creating the physical mold is the real work. -

Even if it's a 3D model, there is still a mold. LEGO is using 3D printers to produce parts. -
I went to Walmart this weekend and was shocked by the amount of Mystery Machine sets they had. There had to be 50 of them on the shelf.

It reminds me of Emmit's apartment.

Thank you! That would explain the Iron Man I found.

Hi guys. I found these three chunks of models in my LLL. I'm not sure if they are from official models, or if they were just things the previous owner had built. My gut tells me they are official builds. Any idea what they may be from? Do they look familiar at all?
