Bricklinked UCS Millenium Falcon time-lapse build
kibosh replied to EdmanZA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I never get sick of these bricklinked beauties! Thanks for documenting the substitutions you made. -
I like that solution!

One question. Is there any articulation in the knees? I can see that it bends at the ankle and hip, but I can't tell if the legs have to stay straight.
-
Agreed. I never pay retail for LEGO unless it's an exclusive set. If youare patient, you can almost always get them for at least 20%. At least in the US. And I buy WAY more used LEGO these days than new sets.

Budgeting for LEGO for me is extremely simple. My LEGO hobby has to be self funded. If I want to buy more LEGO, I need to sell some LEGO.

Totally agree. VERY different builds.

[MOC] Rogue One - "secret room scene" (IDSMO-R3)
kibosh replied to markus1984's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Nice work! At first, I thought the only LEGO in the shot were the minifigs. You really have to look close to realize this is LEGO. -
Yahoo, (and therefore Flickr), To Be Sold To Verizon

Interesting. I hadn't considered the Flickr implications. I wonder if that's what they were truly after. -
Questions about selling an opened Queen Anne's Revenge 4195

Yup. Already considered this. Never again will I ship something without good reference pictures as proof. -
Questions about selling an opened Queen Anne's Revenge 4195
kibosh replied to kibosh's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
perfect. thanks! -
I just had a buyer with low feedback buy my opened Queen Anne's Revenge on Bricklink. While their feedback is positive, I'm gun shy since my recent experience with a buyer. I want to clearly document this shipment, and take numerous pictures. My question is this. What parts from this set are hard to find, or expensive? I want to be sure to get pictures of them before shipping. I'm thinking the minifigs and the sails for sure. Anything else? Thanks!

[MOC] Imperial Bastion on the planet Valrar
kibosh replied to michaelozzie's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I love this idea, and it's one that I was toying around with. Original Trilogy stuff has been done before. I'm loving the concept of Rogue One, and I want to build things like this along the lines of Rogue One. The untold stories of the Star Wars universe using recognizable Star Wars characters, vehicles, locales, etc. -
This really isn't how the game works. You don't have to be right on top of the things to catch them. The range is large enough that you can capture most things from the street. And the game even states nothing will ever be in a private place like houses or places of business. How is staring at your phone for Pokemon any different than staring at it while texting, checking facebook, checking fantasy football scores, etc.? Exactly. I saw WAY more parents out interacting with their kids playing this game this weekend than I ever have. All sorts of people out and about having fun.

I am soooooo guilty of this.

Wow. I thought this was awesome when it was just really well built go-carts. This is next-level stuff right here!

I just got screwed by a buyer! Need help

That's the thing I don't understand, and my biggest issue. No way should he be able to keep both. -

I did submit a NPB notification through Bricklink. -
Yes, it was. They will only take cash or Amazon gift cards. They just pulled this! After going back and forth with someone I thought was 10 minutes away, I got the, "By the way, I posted in the wrong area. I'm actually in southern Ohio." So yeah. This is a total scam. I see how people get scammed every day. I KNOW this is a scam, but a little piece of me keeps screamed, "But what if it's not???" I got the price down to $500. The piece that sealed it for me was asking for pictures. I got a ton, but most are obviously crops of some of the larger pics. And this one popped up on a reddit thread about the same scam last year. https://www.reddit.com/r/lego/comments/3i57u2/is_this_a_good_deal_craigslist/

I just got screwed by a buyer! Need help
kibosh replied to kibosh's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
No I can't prove it left my house perfectly. I can prove he received it though because he admitted it in email. According to PayPal, he should have first supplied proof of the return before his CC company closed the case. My guess is he will not be able to send me back the sealed set. And if he broke the seals, it should no longer matter the condition of the box. I don't remember the purchase type, and since it's been closed, it's gone from my history like it never happened. Same country. He did have low feedback, but it was positive. -

Totally. He goes by one name on Bricklink, and a different name on PayPal. I just talked to PayPal, and they said it was highly unusually that the claim would be closed without proof that I got my merchandise back so they are contacting the CC company again. -

The claim was submitted to his CC company. He has not made any attempt to return my Lego set. Paypal disputed the claim, but the CC ruled in favor of the buyer. -

It was advertised as a sealed set on Bricklink. No proof of condition, and insurance was declined. Based on the claim he initiated, it states the product must be returned. He has not contacted me, and will not respond to email. -
Hi guys, If this is not the right place for this post, please move it. Months ago, a buyer bought a sealed castle set from me and it arrived at his house, but he claims the box was dented. We initiated a charge back through his credit card company saying his product was not as advertised. He just won his case, and I am out $300+. I think this is mail fraud. Can I press charges against this guy? So irritated....

Congrats on seeing this through! I am amazed by the number of sets you were able to (mostly) put together. My strategy is to sell off sets I don't really care for until I recoup my costs. After that, the rest will likely be sorted to join the MOC collective.

Picked up another Large LEGO Lot (LLL). 2 bins, roughly 70 lbs., $450 USD More than I like to pay per pound, but I could tell there was some good stuff in there. I just started to paw through it, and I can tell there are parts to one of the Hogwarts Castles and the Robie House!
