  1. I think that's exactly what he was getting at, and I agree. I might only have a dozen or so of each type of arm at any given time. Combining them in one bin would work well for me.
  2. With as much LEGO related photography there is here, I think a dedicated sub forum is a great idea.
  3. I've tried to maximize bricks this way, but I find it FAR too time consuming. I just don't have the patience for it.
  4. When I build, I'm usually at a table. When I sort, I usually sit cross legged on the floor surrounded by everything. I find I can only sit like this for 30 minutes or so at a time though. Maybe I need to start doing yoga or something like that.
  5. Totally agree. The discussions happened. They are historical fact. Leaving accounts intact is the right call.
  6. Fine, it's art. There's good art, and there's bad art. This is bad art IMHO. If you showed this to someone, without any backstory as to what it is supposed to be, they would have no clue what it is. How much thought would that provoke? Not much.
  7. Then don't participate. Move on to one of the other forums you speak of, and forget this place ever existed.
  8. Sorry for the lack of updates. I decided to do some sorting of the loose bricks to hopefully speed the reassembling process. I'm sorting pieces by color so I have smaller piles to go through. I also separated out all the printed pieces, or pieces with stickers. All technic pieces. and all smaller pieces; 1x1s, 1x2s, etc.
  9. Bricklink has been around for ages, and because of the sheer number of users and familiarity, there is a HUGE barrier to entry for any new players. I've checked Brick Owl out a few times, and just don't get it. Bricklink certainly has it's flaws, but most serious Fans of LEGO have learned to navigate around them. A competitor would have to absolutely change the game to make it worth my time as a seller.
  10. I just looked, and I can't find $150 worth of sets I'd be willing to buy, either.
  11. That's what I'm starting to think.
  12. I really wish I knew what this Slug set looked like. I got an invitation, but I'll be camping this weekend. I don't want to drive 2 hours one way for a total disappointment.
  13. Totally agree. If there was no story or explanation to go along with this, would it be recognizable to anyone?
  14. This is truly beautiful work. You captured the look perfectly.
  15. I can't get past the fact that the hand is upside down on the one on the left.
  16. Very nice! Those Imperial Cog tiles work extremely well as gas stove burner grates.
  17. Yes, specialty pieces or unique minifigs help to identify what you have. I find all sorts of garbage in LLL's I have purchased. Nerf darts, key chains, marbles, etc. If it's plastic, it gets tossed into the bin I guess.
  18. It was almost worth it for the Haunted House alone. My goal is to sell off enough stuff to recoup half the cost. I got it for around $5/pound.
  19. Added four more in process builds to the original post. One Star Wars set, and three Minecraft sets.
  20. I like combing the sidewalk included with the modulars and the sidewalk included on the road plates. It gives me more room for people, trees, food carts, etc.
  21. Yeah, the tanker was a nice find and will make a fine addition to my city display.
  22. Ah! Yes. You are correct! There is a lot of TMNT stuff in there.
  23. Major update in first post! I did a lot of building and organizing this weekend! Any idea what set this model may have come from?
  24. Halfway through the Gunship build! Only missing Padme's hair at this point.
