  1. I missed out on that one, too, sadly.
  2. If they just need time to save money, I think they have at lest 2 years to get this. You have to figure there was a lot of cost sunk in the development. They won't retire the set until they at least recoup that investment. No set will appreciate before it retires. The sets that tend to appreciate the most are things like the first sets in a new theme (Cafe Corner), sets based on popular licenses like Star Wars, sets that contain a rare minifig, or almost any train.
  3. So do they want the set, but need to save up money for it, and wonder how long they have to save? Or are they wondering if they bought it now, how long would they have to wait for it to retire and start appreciating in value?
  4. UCS stands for Ultimate Collector Series. Collectibles tend to be display pieces. I think a trench run set, even if it was done at midi or micro scale, would be a great idea! Such an iconic scene.
  5. I would LOVE to see more Battlefront sets. There are so many battle packs they could do.
  6. How are you reading the forums to see the topic read brick? I'm clicking the Activity menu to see all new posts across all forums, and I don't see the bricks anymore. On a related note, is there a way to combine replies by post when browsing Activity? For instance, I just want to know there was new activity on the 2017 UCS thread. I don't want to see all 15 replies. I'd rather see them when I visit the thread. This is how more like how the old New Content link worked.
  7. This helps a lot. Thanks! Is it pretty sturdy?
  8. Wow. You got me there. There has to be upwards of a half dozen of these floating around. How has LEGO missed out on this HUGE market potential???
  9. I'd love to see this as well.
  10. How often do people take credit for their work? I don't know that I have ever seen a builder say, "This is my idea. I take credit for it." This is a key distinction. I always mention those that inspire me. But how do you know one person put in more time than the other? One may just have more of an engineering mind than the other, and their ideas come easier and quicker. It doesn't make them more or less deserving of appreciation. Exactly. This is perfectly stated. Who is to say who was the first to do a thing? This sums up my feeling perfectly. If you're in this to "get credit", you're in it for the wrong reason. Build stuff, be proud of your models, share them, and take pride knowing you've inspired others.
  11. I like it! Very spherical.
  12. If not another Falcon, a non-motorized AT-AT would be the perfect choice for the 2017 UCS set.
  13. The prequels are/were garbage. And I do have two kids that grew up during the PT era. They barely remember anything about them, yet they can quote OT stuff all day. When they talk Star Wars, it's only OT. I will concede that the Republic Gunship is a pretty cool design, but we've gotten three of them already. Other than that, nothing from the PT can be called iconic.
  14. Guys, let it go. The builder has pretty stated he has no plans to motorize this model, nor does he care to. Enjoy it for what it is; a beautiful AT-AT representation. If you want to motorize it, that would be awesome. But start a new thread.
  15. Ugh. No more prequel stuff. Ever.
  16. Whether they should or not is irrelevant. They won't. Period. End of story.
  17. Got it. So the knee is not fully posable. I agree with posing your AT-AT with bent knees. It will look more natural.
  18. I noticed those. It looks like they would prevent the knee from straitening out fully going one direction. I assume they add friction when bending the other direction until the ball pops out of the joint.
  19. It does. Thank you! Have you done any test builds yet to see how structurally sound this bad boy might be?
  20. Great work! Not sure if I missed it, but could you post a picture of how you are articulating the knees?
  21. Seriously. How is this helpful? Go find a different website. Or better yet, start your own, and you can make it look the way you want. Running a forum is a tiring, difficult, thankless, exhausting job. Give these guys a break, and lay of the negativity.
  22. So you do want us to offer feedback in this thread? I thought you guys were still working on things. Would it make more sense for people to offer feedback after your own internal punch list is completed? Is the an app to view the website, or are you mobile users just looking at it in your browsers?
  23. Everyone needs to chill out. Let these guys work on the site, and not have to come back here all day addressing complaints. Admins/Mods, can you guys post a special topic when you are done and use it to solicit feedback in one convenient location?
  24. I LOVE the display of Star Wars helmets. I do have a few in my LEGO build area!
  25. Bravo! This is simple, and brilliant. It's simply brilliant! And lovely to look at. I fully intend to build one for my city layout. Thank you for sharing your work!
