  1. A fellow MichLUG member did this in black, and I concur with @pirzyk. It looks fantastic!
  2. Not convinced either. Why would there be 5 minifigures in a UCS Snowspeeder set? I would assume it would have to be at the same scale as the TIE Fighter and X-Wings, and they are not minfigure scale, though the the TIE Fighter does come with one of the sweetest minifigures in my collection. He's simply for display. No way is this legit.
  3. Maybe they're testing price points with the new Y-Wing; to see if they can make up profits through volume with increased sales.
  4. Ah. That is an interesting point. I do miss those shots of the kids playing with the bricks.
  5. Man, I do not see the point to keeping boxes. Once LEGO gets opened, and enters my collection, very rarely does it see its way out again.
  6. Fantastic! I love seeing all the Dwarves like that!
  7. Those legs look fantastic.
  8. If I were to run LDraw on my PC, could I open the model on my Mac using Bricksmith? And could I go back again? Depending on my location, I work with PCs and Macs. I'd love to be able to store my work in the cload, and access the files from either platform.
  9. Thanks. Checking around now. It looks like there is some Mac support, but not as much as for PC.
  10. I am 45, married, and have two kids. I have a great job, and provide a nice life for my family. I have a lot of family and friends I enjoy spending time with, and they seem to enjoy my company as well. I am active in my kid's sports teams. I am also a proud AFOL and have been for almost 20 years. I have never hidden this fact from anyone; not friends, not family, not coworkers. I will admit that in my late 20s to early 30s my hobby was tolerated, but not really embraced. Now, people love it. They ask about it all the time. They follow my blog and my social media channels. When their kids outgrow their LEGO, they give it to me because they know it will be loved and used to bring happiness to others. Long story short, do what you love, and don't worry about other people. If they like you for you, they won't even blink an eye at your LEGO habit. if they have a problem with it, they probably really have a problem with themselves and their own lives and are just jealous you've found something that makes you happy.
  11. Perfect! Thanks. So it looks like you import a digital model into LPub3D, and it creates the instructions, correct? Do you know what software was used to do the modeling itself?
  12. What animation package did you use? There's definitely some smoothing going on there in post. Looks great!
  13. What program did Legolijntje use to create the instructions? They're beautiful.
  14. I remember finding digital versions of the Star Wars posters from a couple years ago. Has anyone come across hi-res images of these posters yet?
  15. My biggest problem with the Rebels sets, and why I have steered clear of them, is the minifigures. I realize they are based on a cartoon, but I don't think they have to make them so cartoony. I really don't like the Rebels stormtroopers at all. If they were to same as the newer OT and RO stormtroopers, I'd buy them. The exaggerated mouths bug me.
  16. Looks great! I love this model more and more every time I see it.
  17. Wow! That looks fantastic! First 2017 Star Wars set I am excited about!
  18. How would LEGO possibly lose any prestige from re-releasing a set that people obviously want?
  19. Ugh. Unimpressive. Most unimpressive. Looks like I'll be spending my money on Bricklink. Is it just Dengar and IG-88 in the BH BP?
  20. The raccoon looks like it could be the PaB model. Lots of great parts in there! Really? I was just there yesterday and it was a penguin.
  21. Absolutely. LEGO is the last thing people are looking to spend money on in these areas.
  22. To us AFOL, yes, this is strange wording. To the average parent looking for cheap LEGO for their kids, perhaps not so much. They may figure, "Oh, he has plenty of figures already. As long as he can build the model, he'll be fine." I see this all the time on Craigslist. Steer clear of these claims. It's like anything in life. Just be smart about your purchasing. If you're in a nicer area, there's not so much to worry about. If you're in a not so nice area, then yes, check the seals, edges, etc. I like shopping in the down and out areas. I can find great sales there. I have noticed an odd trend on the LEGO aisles though. I often find empty drinks and food containers there. It's like people steal food in the store, and eat it while they rifle through the LEGO sets stealing parts.
  23. I'm thinking your potential market for this set at that price is extremely limited. Outside of the sticker, I don't see any unusual parts.
  24. Unless you need the money, don't sell. If you feel guilty, just stop buying. Put what you have away in long term storage until the day comes that you do want to build again.
  25. What's the source of this picture? Is it a model someone built, or a shot of an actual screen used model?
