No way will it be a PT set. Think about it. Anything like a Venator or a Falcon is going to be expensive so they're appealing to a limited market. That limited market will have a much better shot at buying perhaps the most iconic ship from the franchise. A UCS Falcon has the best shot at good sales numbers.

Sure I can. I don't recognize them as even existing. I'll never watch them again. I only have a few of the sets, and those are for parts. Just like I didn't buy into all the fanboy EU crap. I'd be willing to bet Disney will not hesitate to contradict them if need be.
-
They aren't part of my Star Wars. I hope they get redone at some point. How can I say they were garbage. Midichlorians. Why explain away a mystical power like the force with science. Just stupid. And only two Sith. Again, why???? Why limit the story. No need and it just tired their hands for so many things. I'm sure I can think of more examples if you need them.

Thanks. I'll take a look at those scenes. I don't want to do anything remotely to movie scale for minifigs. I want to build an accurately styled Octan Tower that might be 4-5 feet tall. I just want something for our LUG displays that will be recognizable and accurate to the spirit of the movie.

LOL This is what I came here looking for! Do you have any shots of the minfig scale Octan Building? I really want to build one for my display this year. Are you sure about the trans green windows?

They make it easier and easier to not spend money on Black Friday.

What franchise should Lego do next?
kibosh replied to frikandeloorlog's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Transformers would be awesome! -
My $300 figure was not an estimate. I was just pointing out that LEGO could very easily offer a set with fewer than 3000 pieces for $300 in the UCS line. This would make a glorious 40th Anniversary set!
-
Hit a sore spot. Got it. Only asked because this is a LEGO forum.
-
2467 pieces. That's a very doable number for a UCS set at $300.
-
Most impressive, but I have to ask, how much of it is actually LEGO? I see a lot of Mega Bloks in there.
-
Perfect! Thank you so much!
-
TOTALLY agree. It comes across like pedantic, overzealous fanboys trying to out nerd each other by showing off the depth of their knowledge in made up stuff. Let it go.
-
You, sir, are the man! Thank you for your efforts! If you could update this thread with a link to the new one, that would be great.
-
I for one would appreciate this very much. This truly is beautiful work, and fits with my plans much better than some of the larger AT-At models out there.
-
This is my point. Average folks will not be looking for such specific, rare parts, and will probably not stumble across these. From an AFOL point of view, no LEGO is worth $243 a piece. Never will be. But I can see why people would want them. And I can see why they might buy a $5 knock off. I think that's the market these guys will exploit.
-
Is it LEGO's pricing strategy that makes sets so expensive in China? Or is it the Chinese government taxing it so much to the point they are basically inviting cheaper knockoffs to be developed? Who's actually buying this stuff? I doubt it's your average mom or dad stumbling across them in the store. I think it's people knowingly and willingly purchasing them. I don't think any awareness campaign will change that.

While they may be just a tad small, it would be hard to enlarge them. In that front on picture, it doesn't look like there would be any gap between them currently; if both front legs were straight, it looks like the inside "toes" would touch. You'd either need to push the legs out, or widen the body thereby pushing the legs out. I think that would throw off your overall dimensions which look fantastic to my eye. If you don't have the time to draft instructions, could you at some point give us more detailed construction pics? I'd love to take a stab at building this beauty over the winter.

This is fantastic! It can't be far off of true minifigure scale. I go by what I see in the movies, not dimensions found in books. When Luke is running under the AT-AT, he is about as tall as the foot. Your shot with the snowtrooper looks good to me. And that head on shot looks right out of the movie! Fantastic work. I have a new level to aspire to, and this is it. LOVE that the legs are fully articulated. Does it stand well on its own?

[MOC] Dale's RV from The Walking Dead(with instructiones)

Awesome. I bought that set with the same intention of LEGOizing it. You did a great job! This is one of my winter projects. -
Anyone else having trouble posting or replying from Chrome? I no longer see the text box and the formatting icons. As soon as I click in the "Reply to this topic..." box, the text box goes away, and I only have the option to upload images. Works fine in IE, but I can't stand using IE...

[MOC] Dale's RV from The Walking Dead(with instructiones)

This is fantastic. It looks like it takes a lot of inspiration from the McFarlane version in terms of construction. -
Yes, but in the last Skiff set, it was still the ESB version of Fett. I hope they stick with it.

Hopefully it's not a RotJ versions.
