Once I open a set, I know it will never leave my collection, so why keep the boxes? My LEGO doesn't mean any less to me if I don't have the cardboard.

How far are you from the stores in southern OH?
-
Scored at the Troy store! Not only did I pick up a Research Institute, but they had the azure 1x2 bricks, tan 2x2 tiles, and light gray 1x1 round tiles.

Went through the partially built/partially still bagged Sea Cow I bought to determine what it's missing. Then started digging through my bricks to find replacements.

Heading to the Troy store this afternoon. Hopefully I get lucky!
-
I would for sure.

Just bought a used Sea Cow for nearly $100 off. Finding it's missing quite a few pieces though...

Which lego hair piece best matches your real hair?

You look a lot like me! I need this head with a goatee though. -
This is a very well thought out ship design. Very cool, and very well done! Love all the little hatches and docking bays, and I really like how not all of them are occupied.

Hmmmmm. I'd really like to get a couple cups of those dark azure 1x2s. Will have to check my store next week.

I'd loooooove to see more of that wrecker! It looks fantastic. And I love this idea for a contest! This is generally how I MOC, too. Take an existing LEGO set, and just make it better.

Very cool. Thanks for the suggestion. And to the OP, so sorry for hijacking your thread, but hopefully my questions will help you as well! I'm going to need several cheap, light, easy to transport tables. Those legs would be great, but I'd need a quick way to attach them to my table tops.

I waited for the Double VIP to start, and finally ordered the Palace Cinema modular. It was either this or the Parisian Cafe, but I figure the Cafe will be around a bit longer.
-
Thanks. I have seen these plans, and these are what my LUG uses. I'm looking for a lighter alternative for being able to do solos shows. Lighter, and easier to transport that is. I wonder if I could use PVC pipe for the legs?
-
Can you post pictures of your designs? I need to build some tables as well. Because I want to do LUG displays at various locations, I'm looking for something light.

That truck is really nice! -
Very nice. A pair of archers atop the walls would really help defend the gap!

I was planning a trip to Trpy tomorrow, but I think you saved me a trip. Did you ask if they had anything else in back? Is that 1x1 orange brick you posted the bright pumpkin orange or the dark orange from the town hall?

Perhaps a stupid question, but what is BnP? Is this the online PaB on shop.lego.com?

Dallas Buyers Club. No LEGO inspiration, but it was a great movie.

I too am stuck in sorting limbo. I just made the decision to throw all my unsorted LEGO into a bin, and put it out of sight and out of mind for a bit, and just build with what's sorted. As I find myself needing things, I'll then look through this bin before heading over to Bricklink.

Given enough time and space, how would you like to enjoy your LEGO? Build sets and display them? Build MOCs and display them? Collect minifigures and display them. To achieve a goal, you need to be able to define it first. Personally, I want to build a large town/train layout that I can display at shows. As far as having too much LEGO, I feel your pain. I amassed a large amount of LEGO over the years. Now that I know what I want to do (build a town), I need to start MOCing. To be able to build the way I want, I need to be able to find the right parts, and therein lies the problem. I can't find things because they were never sorted properly. I'm working on this, but it seems like too daunting of a task, but this thread gave me a good solution. I'm going to take all the unsorted LEGO I have, and dump it into a large tub, and build from what I do have sorted. If I find myself needing pieces, before hitting Bricklink, I'll give this tub a search. And as I have time, I'll sort a bit of it. Sorting is horrible, and tedious. I find the fear of sorting is what's keeping me from building. I plan to eliminate the fear and build with what I can! I have a LOT of unopened LEGO sitting around my house. Here's why. LEGO is a luxury good for me. I don't NEED it. But I WANT it. I never spend my family dollars on LEGO. I buy LEGO any time I find it at great prices with the intent of either reselling it to fuel my hobby or to use it at some point in my MOCs. Outside of CMFs and LEGO exclusive, I don't remember the last time I pair MSRP for my bricks. Agreed. LEGO should be fun. Find what your "key" to LEGO is. If you can't define it, maybe LEGO is not for you.

Very cool. I don't think I've ever seen the 1x3 light gray bricks on the PaB wall.

I don't think the Pet Shop would give a good starting point at all for the Blue (Green) Grocery. I think you'd only get half the blue bricks you needed, if that. I think Bricklinking several sets at once would help greatly from a combined shipping perspective. Fewer orders will mean less shipping cost.

I do a lot of RV camping in the summer, so I plan on adding a large campground to my layout in the near future.
