  1. I really hope these new parts are in the Troy PaB wall tonight...
  2. I haven't bought it yet, but I'll be by the LEGO store tonight, so I reserved the Bing Bang set and hope to pick up the Thanksgiving set, too. And maybe a PaB cup or two...
  3. Simply beautiful. LOVE your trees, too. Can we get some detailed pics of everything?
  4. This is gorgeous. How did you get the floating effect?
  5. These are beautiful renders. Did you create them all??? Your eye for spotting commonalities is most impressive.
  6. I've bought numerous large lots, or had them donated, and I've washed them all. I fill the bathtub with several inches of warm water, and add some dish soap to gets things nice and bubbly. I let them site for a while, and hand agitate them from time to time. The dirtier they were, the longer I let them soak. To remove them, I use a pasta strainer. Fill it up with pieces, and then rinse it under the faucet. After everything is rinsed, I spread them out on a dry towel. Again, I agitate them and move them around periodically. Sometimes I blow a fan across them to help dry things up. Always works for me.
  7. Agreed. I've never seen this, though it would save their staff a lot of time not answering the same question over and over.
  8. I'll stick with Traxxas for now. Once I decide if I want to go deeper into things, I'll look to sell off some LEGo to finance a nitro kit! Thanks for the forum recommendations.
  9. I am definitely a basher. I have no desire to race competitively or have a great looking vehicle. I want one that I can run around the campsite, hit some jumps with, etc. I built a Rustler maybe 10-12 years ago but haven't ran in 8-10 years. Looking to dust it off this weekend, but I fear the batteries will be shot. I'd like to try nitro as they seem to be much faster and more powerful. I'd love to have two; one for me and one for my 13 year old. Beat up and scratched works for me. I know I can replace the shell, and I'm pretty sure I could handle other replacements as well. Any good RC forums you can recommend?
  10. Hey everyone, My kids are really getting in to RC cars and trucks. We went camping this weekend and a few kids were running them up and down the campground and my kids thought it looked really fun. I'm looking to trade my LEGO for your RC cars or trucks. I'm looking for things like Traxxas kit builds; nitro or electric. For an idea of what I have to trade, here's a link to my Bricklink store: https://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=ebrouwer Looking to trade in the US only. Thanks! Eric
  11. Thanks! And.... followed.
  12. Picked up a nice lot at a garage sale for $100. Three large bins full. The built models I could easily identify were the most recent Millenium Falcon, the recent (non UCS) Slave 1, recent Y-Wing, motorized walking AT-AT, an AT-ST, and a handful of prequel ships. The sweet finds I wasn't expecting? Complete Hagrid's Hut and Hogwarts Castle. I'll sell those to easily cover the cost of the entire purchase, plus a little extra!
  13. This is gorgeous. Your use of color is stunning. Could you post some detail pictures of one of your larger trees? How many leaf elements go into them? I'm guessing 50+.
  14. While it may be possible to control quality in China (I don't agree), I think a lot of the product goes out the back door and directly into the hands of bootleggers. I think this is where the biggest problem will arise.
  15. It looks like an infinity background using red felt.
  16. Me neither. Those are some sweet green parts! I could use a full cup each of those 1x2 tan plates and the 1x1 gray with side stud.
  17. I bought a who;e case from eBay. It was a very smooth transaction. I have a complete set of CMF 13s left if you are interested.

    1x1 Wedges...

    Nor have I.
  19. I indeed to do almost the exact same thing! How many Avenger's Towers went into that build?
  20. Agreed. For a company as large and successful as TLG, you'd think they could spend some money on their website. First, get rid of Flash. Flash died when Apple refused to adopt in on their devices. Second, tie your website directly to your inventory system so it's up to date at all times. In this day and age, I should not have to call to check for availability. The cookie issue, while absolutely infuriating, only recently cropped up on me. I would assume lego.com accounts for a decent chunk of sales, no?
  21. For me, budgeting is easy and super simple. My LEGO hobby has to be self supporting. If I want to buy something, I have to sell something. I don't spend a single dollar of family money. As for purchasing, I buy what catches my eye, and fits in with what I like to build. This limits me to mostly Star Wars and City with the occasional Superhero set thrown in. If a set from a different set has great parts, I'll consider that, too. I couldn't care less about being "complete" in a theme. It does not add any more enjoyment for me. And lastly, I almost -NEVER- pay MSRP. I always wait for a sale, or wait for double VIP points.
  22. They are all very nice, so you can't go wrong. I would highly suggest buying the oldest one that is still available for MSRP; probably the cinema or Pet Shop. Once you get it, I assure you, you will be hooked. They get very pricey once they retire.
  23. Can you share more about the design of your tables? I'd love to see how you built them.
  24. Gone Girl. It was 2+ hours of awesome, but the totally crashed and burned in the final 5 minutes. Worst. Ending. Ever. It's like they were running out of film and just stopped.
