I transport my modulars quite often in my truck taking them to various LEGO shows for display. I put them in printer paper boxes ans simply fill the voids with cars, trucks, and other things going in the display. Some parts fall off into the box, but it's easy to figure out where they go. I took them almost 300 miles like this.

How are you moving them? Are they going on a moving truck? Through the air? Or are you just transporting them in your car?

Does it still allow 200 in the drop down box?

I filled up a large cup with brown 1x4 tiles this weekend. I'm going to use them to cover the studs on my train tracks. Now I need a ton of 1x2 brown tiles... Is anyone seeing 2x2 light gray tiles anymore?

This is really great work. LOVE that entryway. I am impressed how this looks like a dark red building yet the majority of it is actually white. Very clever build.

That looks great! I'd love to see pictures of your roads. I see a peak at them in that picture. Always interested to see how people handle them. :-)

Very cool! Love the idea. I got the iPhone 6 Plus, and could really use something like this. Love the interchangeable heads! -
A closer look at Emmets apartment building

Supported! Looks great, and I want to add this building to my city for sure! -
Fantastic work. I love everything about this. The idea, the models, the "Where's Waldo" stuff. Great job! Is it modular? Do you plan to keep it together to display every year? That would chew up most of my white brick collection!

I really like this build! I think it captures the look and feel of a backhoe perfectly.

I was holding off getting Santa's Workshop until Black Friday to get the second free holiday set. With the early VIP event, I got Santa's Workshop and the Ghostbusters set to take advantage of double points, a free set, and free shipping. Not too shabby for sets I would have gotten any way.

If anyone is looking for them for their GG project, I will be listing 52 sand green 1x2 groove bricks sometime this week.

Advice on displaying a layout at a local train show
kibosh replied to ecmo47's topic in LEGO Train Tech
We use relatively simple plastic chain barriers around our setup. We took the old LEGO tubs that have tops that resemble giant LEGO bricks. Filled them halway with concrete, and drilled a whole in the top to snugly fit PVC pipe. The PVC pipe goes up vertically and then has a PVC T fitting on top. We then run plastic chain through the T all the way around the display. This keeps 90% of the people 2-3 feet way form the display. For the other 10%, I am seriously considering adding a 6"-12" plexi glass wall around the outside edge to keep little hands away from everything. -
How would you determine value of a very large LEGO collection?
kibosh replied to kibosh's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Yup. That's what I thought. If I'm going to spend that kind of money, I'd rather buy a bunch of modular buildings. -
I understand LEGO can't allow fans to use any form of LEGO in domain names, company names, etc. But what amount other terms associated with LEGO and LEGO building? Where do they stand on things like "play well", "master builder", etc. Are these kinds of things under copyright or trademark protection? Could you use derivatives of phrases like these in domain names? I'd love to hear your opinions and/or experiences with naming LEGO themed websites and companies.

Well, I missed out on the lot. Everything sold for $2000. After seeing the pictures, it was 300 lbs of pretty basic brick. -

Hopefully, I get to take a look at everything tonight. It's almost 300 lbs of LEGO!!! I have mixed feelings though. I understand the owner passed away 6 years ago. This means very little of the licensed stuff, no newer colors, less detailed minifigs, etc.... -

Thanks, guys! Much appreciated. My guess is there be will over 100 lbs. of LEGO. I'm supposed to go look at everything next week. From what I gather, the guy was retired and regularly hit the area thrift shops and accumulated most of his LEGO that way. I'll let you know how it plays out. -
Sadly, I learned a fellow AFOL in my area passed away a while ago. Very disappointed I never got to know this man as he only lived 15 miles from me. Anyway, I learned that his family has no idea what to do with his massive collection which rivals my own. I am in talks with them to purchase everything, but neither of us knows how to come up with a price. How would you determine the overall value of a large collection? It is pretty well organized by brick type, color, etc. No clue how to go about this...

LOVE the shot of that lime green dune buggy. Just beautiful. And I really like that gray background you use. It doesn't compete with your subject at all. Can you elaborate on these lights? Where might one find these???
