Finally saw Thor: The Dark World. It was a fun flick.

It didn't even occur to me to use the lattice pieces. I'm going to pop those in until someone starts mass producing these bad boys.

Awesome! Thanks for the explanation.

These really are fantastic. Great job! It always bothered me that the Cafe Corner windows don't have glass, either.

Ugh. They had more horses and I missed them? Grrrrrr.......

Oh, you are right. I've seen medium blue in PaB walls, not sand blue.

How are you guys controlling two motors? Do you just set them to the same channel? If so, do they seem to run the exact same speed? If not, I would assume one engine ends up getting pulled along by the other.

I display my models with my LUG for many of the reasons already stated. I like to share my hobby with others. I love to see all the smiling faces and answers questions about our displays. I think the biggest reason I do it is because I spend so much time and money on my models, and no one used to see them. Just me and my family. I feel like they deserve to be shown off.

I too saw the train stuff at Meijer in Michigan. They sold out once at least, and got restocked. I take this as a good sign! Meijer has frequent LEGO sales, and I"m looking forward to snagging a few of these when tey do...

I think this might be due to the easy access to 1x2 and 1x1 sand blue bricks on most PaB walls. I'm sure they are all sharing the same PDF that is available on lego.com. I think all the instructions on there are fairly low quality; like they are scans of printed instructions. You'd think they could generate 1st generation electronic copies.

Thanks, guys. I'm going to price out some Eneloops for sure. -
PF Battery Box or PF Rechargeable Battery Box
kibosh replied to legotrainfan's topic in LEGO Train Tech
So are you saying the 6 AAA Eneloops last as long and are as powerful as the LEGO Li-Ion rechargeable pack? -

Can you share the details of this? I'd love to find a better, cheaper alternative. -
Couple webstore questions for fellow train folks?

How important is it for you to write "LEGO" vs Lego?
kibosh replied to DPrime's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Where are you getting this information? I find this hard to believe. Even in their own advertising, signage, etc. they simply write LEGO. They never reference LEGO bricks or pieces or what not. -
Love the skeletons strapped to the wheels. Really gives a sense of the savagery of orcs!

Agreed 100%. I would guess that the vast majority of these exclusives are given to people that have the sole intent of reselling them. They are not collectibles to them. They are a way to offset the cost of attending SDCC or make their rent next month. Some will argue that no press is bad press. But really, what press coverage does this mess get? Sure it's covered on LEGO outlets because it's LEGO news. I don't think I heard a single thing about SDCC this year on mainstream news outlets. No one outside of LEGO collectors even care about these exclusive figures.

I can't speak to PF and RC in Technic models, but I can comment on them in our large LUG train/town displays. People LOVE the motion in our setups! I started picking up some PF/RC stuff so I can incorporate more movement. Things like amusement park rides. The RC controllers also make running our trains much easier because you can walk around and control them. I'm really liking the PF and RC stuff!

You rock! Thanks so much. I was looking it up by the LEGO ID number printed on the box, and had no idea what to call it.

Is there another source for these? I scoured bricklink last night and didn't find any. :-(

How important is it for you to write "LEGO" vs Lego?
kibosh replied to DPrime's topic in General LEGO Discussion
How does this keep it from becoming a blanket word? So Lego may mean Mega Bloks, but LEGO clearly refers to LEGO bricks? If everyone followed these copyright rules, and did indeed write LEGO, wouldn't LEGO become the blanket word everyone is afraid of? What would everyone complain about then? -
So how were they returning damaged merchandise? Or was the fact that they were damaged really not ave anything to do with the story.

Do you always try to have a backlog of sets to build?
kibosh replied to BirdOPrey5's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have such a huge backlog of unopened sets, I think I could build full time for a year and not get through it. I also take a couple sets with us when we go camping in case the weather is bad.
