  1. The locomotive is now really coming together! I can't wait for the instructions to arrive, however long that may take (I can't build it for a few years with what money I've got anyway!) I've developed a fascination for the Overland Limited and the Greyhound paint scheme (despite being British) since my cousin inherited his grandfather's Rivarossi H0 scale Overland Limited (as mentioned above), which though small and not 100% accurate, had captured my eye for its beauty and grandeur, and in my mind what trains still 'should be'. I've planned out several floor plans and exterior window alignments to fit with the different room layouts (such as for a 10-6 sleeper, a 4-4-2 sleeper, or a coach) but my real weakness I think is with the undercarriage, where my skills are lacking. Anyway, I can't wait to see this really pull together into the real thing! What are you charging for instructions for MOCs like these?
  2. Finally!
  3. I may eventually buy this particular set of instructions - even if I designed my own I doubt I'll be able to top this beauty of yours @AbleChristopher! I've got a Rivarossi H0 scale greyhound so would love to have a LEGO version - one of my dreams is to build a full Overland Limited greyhound paint scheme consist with the big FEF-3 to head it. I've got a five coach H0 scale consist - five coaches L-Scale would look amazing stood next to that.
  4. Pretty sure he 3D printed them himself. I missed this particular absolute stunner when it was posted previously, but has to be one of my favourites of yours so far @Glenn Holland!
  5. Well I think that should hopefully sought out a lot of people's anger soon.
  6. Very nice as usual @Hod Carrier! As a Londoner myself, I know the tube fairly well. Northern's one of the deepest lines - it can be a real pain to get down to! It's being split in a few years though...
  7. Fantastic work here. I saw a lot off these visiting Switzerland in August this year, as I was staying with family very close to Geneva, on the Léman Express line which is quad-tracked to allow slow trains that stop as well as fast trains passing through stations. When the fast ones went past you while you were waiting for a slow one, I was always rather jealous!
  8. Can fully support this @Lion King - it’s a terrific set and has so much detail in 3 buildings across 8 floors and a roof top, with some brilliant techniques used throughout the build. It’s one of my best purchases and favourite sets to date, and had I missed out on it I would have been gutted. Buy it while it’s here - it won’t be for much longer. Also perhaps worth noting I’ve seen modulars sell out up to a month before the official retirement date on 31st December, so in reality you’ve probably only got two months from now when you can be confident it’ll be in stock. Interesting about the release date and all the possible ’extra hype’ - definitely excited about it now!
  9. The black street lamps are already a thing - Spring Lantern Festival and a few other sets use them rather than the white ones in the main modular line. Unfortunately, I think dreams can’t always be trusted. If they were true, I’d have died multiple times by now as in my nightmares.
  10. Fantastic consist and layout, @Marlow. Your collection of 9v and PF/PU trains is very impressive! I love your custom extra carriages - they really add to the look while keeping in the old style. I've always wanted the Super Chief but obtaining even just the locomotive these days costs an absurd amount of money, let alone the suggest 2 locomotives + 5 cars it gives.
  11. Just building my police station now (been saving it for months since I bought it in a double VIP period) and it crossed my mind how many bags/stages there were. I recently rebuilt my Detective's Office, which has 4 stages, bags numbered 1 & 2 (pool hall and barber shop) (ground floor), 3 (first floor) and 4 (second floor and roof). I actually quite like this, it feels more old style somehow and more professional or something - I'm not quite sure but I like it anyway. Going back even further, I'm aware (even if I don't have it) that the Fire Brigade had just 2. In contrast, in building the Police Station, this has 14 stages, divided 1-6 for the ground floor, 7-10 for the first floor, 11-13 for the second floor and 14 for the roof. Quite a difference there, huh? So a simple question - why is this? The number of stages has increased drastically and it doesn't seem to make a huge amount of difference except add more small plastic bags rather than bigger ones, so I don't quite understand its purpose.
  12. I've put a link to this at the top of the LEGO Trains 2023 discussion thread. Just quickly though - isn't this rumoured number 21344, not 21334? 21334 was the Jazz Quartet last year...
  13. @Ashi Valkoinen I was there for a few days late May-early June visiting my uncle in Budapest while travelling round Europe and took the train in from Bratislava and then out again to Krakow and saw many other beautiful MAV trains in the process - Budapest Nyugati is a fantastic place to see trains! I also went to the railway museum, so I’ve seen a lot of old steam as well. No idea when I’ll be back - it’s just the way life plays out really. My uncle’s half in England half in Budapest and goes back and forth often, so I see him when he’s over here. The previous time I went to Budapest was 2015, so it’s not exactly a frequent occurrence. Maybe one day though…
  14. Sorry and thanks for pointing it out! I’ll update it now. Yes, the Liebherr 13000 crane was not fantastic in this respect. However, I don’t think this will have over 1000 technic pins! I think if anything will drive up the price it’s the specialist train pieces, and we don’t yet know the extent of coaches and display base which can also increase costs.
  15. I believe they're still being included in the most recent passenger train, but bizarre that they're not available online or in shops as well.
  16. Loving those KX vibes there - it's a stunning station which is amazing every time I travel from it! Normally I'm going from St Pancras across the road, but KX is beautiful both inside and out. It's great you've incorporated the HP features such as the wall as well.
  17. Always brilliant seeing your astonishing MOCs, @Ashi Valkoinen! I travelled in Hungary earlier this year and have now seen the magnificent trains - and this is just another!
  18. P40 preorders will begin Monday 12th June. An announcement made yesterday on Facebook by Fx Bricks: “Our new boxes have arrived! Can anyone guess what’s going in them? 🧐 We know a lot of you have been asking about the new switches and track, and your wait is almost over. Pre-orders start in 10 days! 🎉 #fxtrack #fxtracksystem #fxbricks #legotrains” 10 days from yesterday would be Monday 12th June, so we’re now getting close! Exactly how long shipping will be I’m not sure.
  19. Fascinated to see this. My parents used to live near Heathrow and regularly heard Concorde pierce the sound barrier up above. Unfortunately they moved away and Concorde was terminated before I could ever see one and remember it, as for most of my childhood we didn’t go abroad.
  20. 3 train ideas reached the review this round……out of a total of 71! Interesting variation in types but with Orient Express and Studgate they won’t make it I’m almost certain.
  21. Something interesting that I’ve not seen pointed out yet is the presence of 2 of the ‘rerailer’ slopes - I believe this is only the second time they’ve appeared (first being Hidden Side). These are fantastic from the playability perspective and even in some cases for us (where we have a useful siding) - putting trains back on the track can be a real fiddle at times. That’s a really good point - a proper completely realistic station is a very rare thing in Lego sets, and the recent few haven’t looked particularly realistic… Yeah 1 platform doesn’t really represent the 11 platforms (12 if you count 9 3/4) at KX with the arched roofs does it?
  22. It’s been leaked that there’s going to be a new creator roller coaster similar to the pirate one back in 2018, this time a space coaster that releases on August 1st. Disappointingly and showing price inflation, it’s going to be £95 (in Britain where I’m from) - that’s an increase of £25 on the last one and meanwhile the number of pieces has fallen by 49 from 923 to 874. Apparently it contains a baby spaceman though so something good has come out of it. Track looks to me dark blue. What are people’s opinions on this?
  23. I was watching a video by Brick Clicker on YouTube yesterday about everything known about all 18+ sets releasing 2023 and he at least says the Orient Express will be releasing November 2023. “I bought a train ticket and the driver said’Eurostar?’ I said ‘Well I’ve been on telly but I’m no Dean Martin.’ Still, at least it’s comfortable on Eurostar - it’s murder on the Orient Express.”
  24. I’ve seen this as well… In 2011 a second cargo train was released (3677 Red Cargo Train) and the same thing occurred in 2015 with the release of the 60098 Heavy Haul Train. This is now 2023, so would be the right time for a second one to be released. Is it possible that instead they’re continuing to produce 60198 alongside the 2022 sets?
  25. Best paint scheme of any American locomotive ever!!!! I've got an H0 scale FEF-3 and will hopefully one day have a LEGO one too in this scheme. Great MOC!
