Lack of original themes
Digger of Bricks replied to General Magma's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I wouldn't be surprised if Disney does cut back on their far future plans just a little, as they seem to be hammering these scheduled dates and plans out even harder than for their MCU. Not to mention, we hear so much of studio/director conflicts from these productions unlike the relatively smooth assembly line production of MCU entries. -

Hmm, possibly, especially since the movie is being produced by Warner Bros. under their own WAG (Warner Animation Group). But, if that were the case, that would mean that all three CMSs for that year (unless there were to be four) would be based upon WAG movies (The Lego Movie sequel, The Billion Brick Race, and the Minecraft movie). By then, the would be no room for Series 19 unless The Billion Brick Race got moved to 2020.

While out on the road today, I saw this Jeep Renegade in a unusual yet striking shade of green. I can't say it was necessarily beautiful, because what was striking about it instead was that it had a plastic Lego-esque quality about it, kind of a darker take on Lego's own Olive Green in a way. I've always wanted Lego to introduce a darker shade of their current Olive Green, and come to think of it, I guess I'd like to see it done just like this:

How about CMS lines based upon classic comic strips? Particularly, Popeye and Dick Tracy are two long running strips that come to mind that I'd kinda like to see as Collectable Minifigure lines, just as long as the characters' figures don't resort to specialized head molds. Perhaps they may not enough relevance in this day and age, but they both seem characteristically colorful enough for the Lego brand. So, what comic strips would you perhaps want to see as CMS lines?

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
If they be willing, perhaps some of the moderators/administrators could grant them Lego designer tags. -
Terraforming Bee Spaceship Mech by buggyirk Barnum's Circus Train by brickster0404 Medieval Watchtower by skbor74 Ohhh, now that I love! All three of those are great, but the last one (the Greek tavern) kinda could be easily incorporated into a modular lineup, yet stand apart on its own.

The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)
Digger of Bricks replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Excellent! I think it's a lot more inviting in its broadness. For all those fans of Classic themes that wished Lego could at least "throw them a bone", this was a fun opportunity for those of Classic Space. But you know, a little promotional set I guess can be a big deal of sorts for Lego, as they do serve the purpose of being bait for purchases. If the majority of customers beyond the fan base would rather want a set to complement City/Town sets, I guess that's what Lego will veer towards if they find most will be indifferent to Space. But that's the thing, why couldn't the staff at Ideas simply host a Town themed contest instead?- 991 replies

The Incredibles 2 2018: Rumors and Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Falconfan1414's topic in LEGO Licensed
Pretty good, it even captures how it's swept to the side. By the way, also another image of Violet has popped up over on Reddit, and it shows that her hairpiece has her orange hairband printed atop it. -
Dang, I just have to say it again, your rendering work is so on par with @Robert8's! By the way, I know it seems like you're more a licensed sorta guy, but, is there a particular archetypical character(s) that you wish Lego could make for the non-licensed Collectable Minifigure line? If so, would you want to render a hypothetical depiction of it to give us an idea of how you wish he/she would be designed?

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Digger of Bricks replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
If The Billion Brick Race stays right where it is, yeah, most of that sounds about right. As for the possibility of a second series for TLM2, well, I certainly wasn't expecting such a thing to happen to the TLBM, so I'm not going to automatically rule that possibility out for now. The question is, where does a second Disney CMS come into this, if at all? I sort of hope that this will end up happening, just as long as we don't end up with yet another botched movie. Eh, I kinda hope not, as I feel it might be too much for production to handle. -

The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)
Digger of Bricks replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I guess this may show that Lego has figured that most of their general non-AFOL audience are indifferent to Space, instead thinking that most would warm up to something more down to earth (literally). It's too bad, as there was another nice coin-op ride entry that was Classic Space themed; but honestly, I was prepared for this sort of disappointment. Now though they won't be made as sets, staff did make a few good choices for runner-ups:- 991 replies
