LEGO Fan Media Days 2017 - Interview with Mikael Psiaki
Digger of Bricks replied to Jim's topic in Special LEGO Themes
By the way, will you or any other Eurobricks staff members be interviewing any Lego designers or employees at this year's Media Fan Days event? -
Cool! I'd like such a set to include a steam locomotive as opposed to a diesel one, but I just don't think that's ever going to happen to the City theme. Another ingenious idea!

Oh my gosh, I have never seen the work of Streamlined Bricks, they've got a lot of stuff that's right up my alley, as evidenced by their name! Thank you so much for highlighting them! Oh yeah, you can never go wrong with a Mallard MOC. That's a new favorite of mine that I only discovered recently myself. It's a beauty!

Like what for instance? What would be your dream genre mash-up theme? -

Lack of original themes
Digger of Bricks replied to General Magma's topic in General LEGO Discussion
In hindsight, I guess Lego will try to retain Creator's currently colorful nature for most of its life; so, perhaps the best I could hope for instead would be another subtheme of Creator that is only slightly more advanced than the three-in-one line, but not enough to be considered as a part of the Expert subtheme. Also, the Castle sets fans desire just may be better suited for a more advanced line anyway; but, I still think Space as we knew it is a good fit for the three-in-one line, given the theme propensities towards a more colorful palette. Also, regarding brick built animals, at least Space themed three-in-one sets wouldn't have much of a problem with brick built aliens and robots, especially considering how the latter were brick built in many Classic Space sets! -
Huh, unless they've been pulled, I can't find them there myself.

LEGO Fan Media Days 2017 - Interview with Mikael Psiaki
Digger of Bricks replied to Jim's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hey, perhaps there's a very light Sci-Fi Space theme on the horizon, one that lacks aliens, conflict, and lasers and instead harkens back to the peaceful exploration centered focus of Classic Space. Hey, @danth, whatch think about that? By the way, how much content had to be cut out of this interview by TLG percentage wise, if any at all? -
Future LEGO Pirates Set Speculation
Digger of Bricks replied to David Thomsen's topic in LEGO Pirates
Flip it on its head, create a theme where Native Islanders defend themselves against Imperial Colonists. It would be like James Cameron's Avatar, only that it would be set in the Pacific Ocean in the eighteenth century instead. I don't know where Pirates would come into it, but at least it would be a nautical action/adventure theme set within the same time period. -
What a gorgeous contribution to such a spectacular layout! The coastal theme is a really cool idea for a modular series, and I love all your color choices for each building!

LEGO Fan Media Days 2017 - Interview with Mikael Psiaki
Digger of Bricks replied to Jim's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thank you so much @Jim for bringing us this interview, as there is so much more to gleam from than I was expecting! You certainly downplayed our expectations leading up to posting this, so I was surprised to see all that was addressed here! I'm still looking over it more thoroughly after an initial first read, as you never know what may be hiding between the lines! Maybe it's nothing, but this response is a rather intriguing one. -

Who knows? Come 2019, perhaps the franchise will make an appearance in The Lego Movie's sequel, and therefore make its way into the film's tie-in sets. -
The Blue Tornado by @dylanfarrow Barn Owl by Master Logray Starbase Creator by amarie22 Seven Ancient Wonders of the World by Benjivv Quite the unusual looking roof! Now there's a project I hope will reach the 10K milestone and pass review, as it's seemingly a spiritual successor to the Old Fishing Store yet without being too similar.

Future LEGO Pirates Set Speculation
Digger of Bricks replied to David Thomsen's topic in LEGO Pirates
Well, what if Lego did a Pirates themed Action/Adventure line where Islanders were the story's protagonists and Pirates were the antagonists? If so, what could that look like? -
Are you speaking of the catalog leaks we've seen from earlier, or have new images leaked from Walmart's website?
-
Which one? I remember the Classic Spaceship coin-op ride entry, is that the one you're speaking of? In the comments to that article, only one brought up that lamentation.
