  1. Brickset has a better image of 5005251 Penguin Suit Girl:
  2. By the way, I'm not sure if there are already pictures of this from others out there, but could you describe the anti-stud design and geometry of the back of the new mid-sized legs, perhaps as an early preview?
  3. Ah, of course, the Moments in Space contest. That was a, well, disappointment.
  4. I'm not sure if anyone has pondered or implied this here yet, but, could this rumored break be to perhaps give an upcoming "big bang" theme some introductory breathing room, if you know what I mean?
  5. Discuss everything pertaining to sets released for the LEGO Creator theme in 2019 here, whether it be for the "Three-In-One" or Expert subthemes. If you wish though, discussion of the annual Expert subthemes for Modular Buildings, the Fairground sets, Landmark builds, Expert-scale cars, and the Winter Village line particularly can take place over at these respectively linked topics instead: Eurobricks - Modular Building Sets - Rumors and Discussion Eurobricks - Fairground Sets - Rumors and Discussion Eurobricks - Creator Expert Landmark Buildings - Rumours and Discussion Eurobricks - Creator Expert Cars - Rumors, Discussion, and Speculation Eurobricks - Winter Village Sets - Rumors and Discussion This post will be updated as further information arrives, including official set numbers, names, and images. Futuristic Flyer (31086) Dune Buggy (31087) Deep Sea Creatures (31088) Sunset Track Racer (31089) Underwater Robot (31090) Shuttle Transporter (31091) Helicopter Adventure (31092) Riverside Houseboat (31093) Race Plane (31094)
  6. For those interested, here's a review of this upcoming "gift-with-purchase" promotion, preceded by an overlook of Lego's past and currently utilized materials: New Elementary - SUSTAINABLE LEGO® ELEMENTS: 40320 PLANTS FROM PLANTS
  7. No, I guess I misphrased that by saying "media-branded", as I was more suggesting that we could possibly see various iconic or notable architectural structures from smaller scaled licenses based upon fictional franchises captured in Lego as sets branded under the Creator Expert theme. By smaller scaled licenses, I mean one-off stuff seen done under themes like Dimensions, BrickHeadz, and LEGO Ideas, as opposed to larger, better established licenses done under themes such as Star Wars or DC/Marvel SuperHeroes. For instance, if this new pretence were established eariler, we could've seen 2016's Ghostbusters' HQ branded under the Creator Expert theme instead.
  8. Exactly, so it only seems plausible that could very well be the subtheme's "next frontier". Personally, I think they should take their first small step to the moon before making that giant leap to Mars (sorry for all the puns by the way ), as that was after all the presumed setting for Lego's first Classic Space sets.
  9. Though I've seen this creation of @vedosololego's before in the past, it's still magnificently striking upon revisitation, and the reimagined usage of those Viking longship hulls is just so beautifully brilliant!
  10. Damn, now that's one heck of a color bomb! One of the little details I like the foaming of the water at the shorelines and around the watercraft; plus, the incorporation of Dark Turquoise for the water works nicely too. As for the buildings, there's still a lot of NPU I'm pouring over...
  11. I know this is probably better brought up over on a future speculation discussion topic instead, but since we don't have one currently for the Licensed subforum, I thought I'd bring this up here. Apparently, Legendary Pictures is collaborating with animation studio Sunrise Inc. to bring a live action Gundam movie to the big screen: Variety - 'Gundam' Live Action Movie in the Works I'm not sure if either party (Sunrise and/or the film distributor) would want to be marketing this movie to younger audiences beyond its older fan base for merchandising, but I wonder if there'll be a chance for this franchise to come to Lego around then, given that Legendary is still partnered with Universal Pictures currently.
  12. Since I haven't watched Captain America: Civil War yet, I decided to rewatch The First Avenger the other night for a little bit of a refresh, and will probably follow up with a rewatch of The Winter Soldier before I finally do get around to watching Civil War.
  13. Regarding another Space subtheme, I feel it wouldn't be a repeat if they took the next one somewhere else. But, if they return to the Spaceport setting again for the third time in a row without any significant reinvention, yeah, that would be both redundant and disappointing. By the way, is a potential Space subtheme for next year what you were speaking of over on @BrickJagger's Future Castle Sets discussion topic, as far as a 2019 Space theme?
  14. Wait a minute, who was saying there was a new Space theme coming next year?!
  15. Huh, so they still have the Simpsons license...
  16. Before it was finally confirmed, many here were musing upon the fact that this set could be the first Creator Expert set with media-related branding. Well, now that we know that to be the case, I suppose we could presume that this won't be a one-time isolated instance, so the potential for other media-branded Creator Expert set opens the doors for a lot of future possibilities! Think about it, besides the Creator Expert automobile line, we may even see certain media-branded architectural sets (modular or landmark) too, particularly for licenses that don't have an established theme of their own.
  17. Well, given the nature of the two themes, I think we'd end up seeing something like that come to Friends before City.
  18. If anything, I could see Lego releasing a single US $100+ City Zoo playset in lieu of a subtheme, something like the various flagship sets for the City theme we've seen released for this year, 2015, and 2013. Additionally, something like a City Zoo utility truck could be released the same year as a companion Great Vehicle set.
  19. Besides my already stated wishes for the next Space subtheme to head to the moon (or Mars), I'd think it would be cool for the next submarine subtheme to explore archaeological ruins instead of simply shipwrecks. I'm not talking about anything too far out there such as Atlantis, only that it could draw inspiration after the exploration of sunken ruins like that of Egypt's Alexandria.
  20. I guess, come to think of it, that the modular spaceship model used by so many of Lego's previous Space themes was that trope, but in reverse, kind of.
  21. Interesting, but I'll have to admit, upon reading the Wiki article for that miniseries you linked, the elements of magic and sorcery typically associated with a lot of medieval high fantasy wasn't quite something I had in mind for the idea I concocted. The only supernatural element I'd factored in was on the part of the antagonist, who would more be dabbling into the sort of occult sciences that perhaps the Nazis would have been interested in, somewhat.
  22. To do what? More sets?
