  1. I don't at all mind Lego catering exclusively to AFOLs, its just certain fanbases/geekdoms outside of the Lego fan community that I feel Lego should be wary of. By that I mean, Lego should be good expanding beyond original lines such as the Creator Expert Modular Buildings and the such; but as for any possibly controversial adult-oriented IPs, I'd much rather prefer Lego cooking up theit own generic alternative, free of any possible controversy.
  2. Here's a question for y'all... How do you feel about this latest modular up alongside last year's Downtown Diner?

  4. Ha! How did that go over my head?! Seeing the tow truck by itself from this review makes me love it even more!
  5. I hope Lego walks this fence very carefully, as I don't wish to see them go on to consider certain franchise properties that would only be of interest to an older fanbase.
  6. Okay, this one does have a lot going for it; but, like many here, my very first impressions unfortunately were ones of lackluster. Honestly though, I think we all must of been expecting something much more radical after last year's shell shock from seeing the Downtown Diner. This build in particular I find to be a little dichotomized, as I love how both the first floor and the upper floors turned out; but together, they seem to clash somewhat. I mean, wouldn't it have better if the first floor gas station/garage were instead a smaller, single story stand-alone set? Okay, anyway, for not being one to dwell too much on the negatives, I do love the color choices for both the first floor gas station and the upper floors (separate from each other, that is). Same goes for the tow truck too, in both its construction and color scheme. As for figures, is the moped driver's torso new? Oh, and last but not least, PARTS! No one here has shared this here yet: New Elementary - LEGO® CREATOR EXPERT 10264 CORNER GARAGE: THE NEW PARTS
  7. Keyword being nearly. Honestly, all I really wish from Lego is some condensed consolidation of their playthemes for a much neater portfolio, with less dangling loose dead ends, not to mention that much needed balance between in-house and licensed themes. That's primarily why I'm so ticked off over this year's disassembly of the Juniors, Marvel, and DC SuperHeroes lines, as their branding makes the sets feel less like Lego's and more akin to miserly tie-in merchandise. But licensed themes have seemingly done just that haven't they? Indirect genocide of core, in-house lines.
  8. Yes, those two were the closest thing I could find myself when searching about, despite nether of them being bungalows. In spite of that, the latter one in particular is definitely an all-time favorite for me! I should add by the way, in many of my own hunts for architectural creations, Craftsman/Prairie Style/Arts & Crafts/Frank Lloyd Wright-styled builds within a minifigure-scale seem hard to come by anyway. It just seems to be a rather underrepresented architectural style within the AFOL community compared to other styles.
  9. In order for Lego to retain its soul, they must cull nearly all of their licensed themes, no matter the cost.
  10. By the way @Robert8, have you considered either a Chauffeur or Edwardian Motorist archetype for any future series down the line?

  12. Ah, so not just mere design alterations, but recoloring too! I must say though, I would've gone with a more rustic shade of green for her shirt, such as Olive Green. Or, if it were only available on LDD currently, the new Vibrant Coral would've been a more rustic take on the shade of pink @Robert8 chose for his render.
  13. Hmmm, yes, but the broadly arching Marvel/DC SuperHeroes branding that we've had for many years now was much more encompassing. Plus, it felt more classic and original to the Lego brand as a line of its own so to speak, not just mere tie-in merchandise for some "here today, gone tomorrow" movie and/or franchise.
  14. This is quite lovely! I love the abundance of green used in various shades throughout both the interior and exterior of the house! Plus, that cobblestoned courtyard pond with the crooked bordering path is an adorable addition! P.S. Would you consider submitting this to LEGO Ideas?
  15. After rewatching Captain America: The First Avenger back in July, I've grown rather fond of Alan Silvestri's score for this MCU entry, particularly its "Captain America March" from the end credits which I can play for hours on end. Anyone else dig this piece, or its entire score for that matter?
  16. Personally, I sort of like the Quinjet, but I'm still quite pissed over the direction they've decided to take the branding for both the Marvel and DC SuperHeroes lines.
  17. Indeed! I must confess though, I was hoping to see some all-new archetypes rendered by @Yooha for this year; but, these alterations to your already excellent work are both surprising and most exciting!
