I don't think the whole dragon needs to be bigger, just the wings, as the seem very small at the moment... -

You weren't, you just (helpfully) corrected me. Agreed, and also, it's important to compare them using the same discharge rate, which I doubt my original image did - which would explain the huge difference between Ni-MH and alkaline. Yeah, and it's all that marketing that makes it so hard to compare! -

Thanks for spotting that, as it's actually what I meant to say... Upload them to YouTube. Though you can also put videos on Bricksafe - you just won't be able to embed them like YouTube videos. -

Very nice! But like @Aventador2004 said, it would be great if you could post some bigger/better photos. (and maybe a video...) You can use Bricksafe to store your photos, and then just copy their links into your post. -

Maybe that wasn't the best example... (rather a example of me using the first image I found ) I have changed the image in my post above - are the curves more realistic now? -

I bet you weren't using Eneloops... I did once have duracell rechargeables, and I also found that they were lacking in power - but that all changed when I got some Eneloops. And yes, I'm a big fan of Eneloops -

If you look at the discharge curve, you can see that it will stay above 1.2v for most of it's discharge, however - to answer you question - it will go down to about 0.9v. You can also see that the curve of the alkaline batteries is much steeper, and they drop down below 1.2v much quicker than the Eneloops - even though the captivity is similar. In this example, RED = Duracell Ultra AA (alkaline), and BLUE = Eneloop AA (Ni-MH) Yes (I have previously had successes using something similar), but like @Toastie said you have to charge them very carefully. And another thing, they should NEVER be discharged below 3v/cell - as they will be damaged, and possibly destroyed. -
Being a Technic builder, the first thing I thought of, was Technic... Something a bit like this old set, for example. Or maybe this - anything would be great! There has been some very small Technic sets released recently (42044 being the smallest), and I just think they would be much better as a GWP, rather than a retail set.

That's great! I was looking for a way to relate my vehicle to the game, and I've now found it (almost by accident...) I will definitely be keeping the printed slope - and adding some more! Now I just need to find a new driver... (which is good - because the banana guy couldn't sit down)

How did I miss this?!?!! This Is probably the wackiest vehicle I've seen so far! And that lifting mechanism is great, and is very well hidden. I actually planned to do the same thing with my tank, but because of the drive motors, I wasn't able to do it... You have done much better! -
I just realized I hadn't look at this for awhile - and I have missed heaps! Really like the panda as a pilot - it's super wacky! And something that supprised me, is the color combination - I thought the mix of so many colors wouldn't look any good, but it actually looks great! Keep up the great work, it's just getting better and better!

Great to see that you've joined the competition! Agreed, stud-shooters should be used more, especially considering how well they work! I have also added them to my entry - just for fun!

Tiny, fully functional, and very good looking - just perfect! Great work! -
Best power supply?
mocbuild101 replied to Tobaganner's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Except that it's not rechargeable, and isn't AA size... (not to metion that it doesn't last very long) -
Yes - and that size has been made some in other colors too.

Best power supply?
mocbuild101 replied to Tobaganner's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Short answer: No Long answer: There are Ni-Zi batteries, which have about 1.6v-1.8v when charged, but that small increase in voltage (0.3v x 6 = 1.8v = 10.8v) can damage Lego PF/RC - so they are best avoided. (unless you modify the battery box to limit the voltage) I personally would recommend the 1.2v Ni-MH Panasonic Eneloops - they outperform all other types of Ni-MH batteries, and are actually much better than normal alkaline batteries. I've found that they come very close to alkaline, because they maintain a more consistent voltage - and therefor end up having a higher voltage than alkaline batteries after very little use. Here are the comparisons: Alkaline: + has perfect 1.5v - not rechargeable, don't last very long, voltage very drops quickly, and are prone to leaking Ni-MH: + lasts much longer than alkaline, can be recharged many times (up to 2100x for Eneloops) - has lower 1.2v starting voltage (but is more consistent) Lego PF Lipo: + higher voltage than Ni-MH (8.4 volts when fully charged) - VERY expensive -
It's working fine for me... Just one thing, make sure you are NOT putting @ in front of the member's name - it doesn't need that.

It's probably time for an update... Day 42-45: Completely rebuilt hull, extended the whole tank by two studs and shrunk the engine down to V8 so I could fit in the PF receivers Day 46: I started to shape the hull with some slopes (to make it more like a banana), added some stud-shooters. As you may have noticed, the tracks are not attached - this is because they are currently in pieces... Day 47 (today): I needed some parts, so I put in a Bricklink order - which I'm now waiting for... Now, a quick question about the front of the tank: Should I keep the printed slope, or change it to a plain one? Okay, that's all for now!
