No worries Nice crawler, it does look a bit skeletal, but I think that just makes it look cooler! 1:8.337 (I think...)

Leopard 4x4
mocbuild101 replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It's amazing what can be done when 2 BuWizzs and 4 buggy motors are combined... and when a crazy (in a good way) color scheme is added, there's not much else to say except, WOW!- 15 replies

[TC13] Twinrotor helicopter

What an improvement! I agree with @Leonardo da Bricki, a couple of small panels should fill the gap in the tail quite nicely - if they fit... -

Nice work, the escapement works well, I'm just waiting to see what you do with it.... You should be able to change it just by holding it horizontally. -
Looks like it should work, but whether it will be efficient enough, I don't know... I once had a go at building a clock, and this is the mechanism I used: The motor input is the green axle, and the pendulum attaches to the red plate.

Nice! Great work making it so quickly, I've barely even got a prototype... -
I like that you're reusing your stepper, it will be interesting to see how well it works...

This should be very fun! I'm really interested in what will be built... Just one thing I want to check: Are all "non-electric" motors (except the flywheel motors) allowed? - including this one?

If those are the only rules (other than the standard ones), it's exactly what I was hoping for! Now, what to build..... -
Video... I've got a great camera for photos, I it just can't take videos any better than 480p... Yes, but it's not as important as a having a good main, tripod-mounted camera.

Well I consider mid-range as being in between "cheapo" and "pro". I was thinking about that, but I thought the video wouldn't look any good because of the "fish eye" effect. (I think that's what it's called...)

Less than $100, but I should be able to get more expensive ones second-hand from ebay. Mainly that I need my smartphone for controlling my SBrick, but it also doesn't have manual focus - which is sometimes very frustrating...

I am looking for a descent mid-range camera (at least 1080p) to replace my smartphone's camera, and I'd like to know what you have/are using. So my question is simple: What camera do you use to film your videos of your MOCs? If you use more than one, please list all of them, or if you have upgraded to a higher-end camera, please list both your new one and your old one(s).

Another very well executed RC MOD of 42037... I think that's all I need to say. -

It will, I used to display mine on a 40cm high shelf with room to spare. -

1. Most of the time it only controls it a little bit, but when I get stuck into building, it has a lot more control... sometimes even over my dreams! 2. Well it would be nice, but it's never going to happen where I am. 3. Nah, why wait for Christmas? 4. Not really, but sometimes (including this year) I build a Lego Santa or something else Christmas-y. 5. BLACK! - mainly because it's the second most abundant color of all Lego colors (just behind white), and I have so much of it in my collection 6. That depends on whether it's a theme you own or not... Probably my favorite theme would be the modular buildings, but my favorite theme I actually own would be the old agents (both years) - I just really like the style and the cool vehicles. And I've almost got a complete collection - just missing the volcano base... 7. Hard to say, there's been quite a lot of great sets over the years, but I'd probably say 2015, it had some really nice sets - including 42043. I'd like to ask another question: What year was your best Christmas? For me it would be 2015, when I decided to get myself a EV3 set. By the way, did you see the end of The Lego Movie? At least it's not that hot where I am... -

Well if we were going to have a smaller contest, why not make it a micro-build contest? That way you could build whatever you wanted - vehicle or non-vehicle - and it would be easier to finish in a shorter time frame. +1 to all of the above^ -
Have you tried looking on Brickshelf?

Welcome to Eurobricks @dewzxcs! There is a EV3 program for a balancing robots here: http://robotsquare.com/2014/07/01/tutorial-ev3-self-balancing-robot/ It works very well (I have used it many times), and the full program can be downloaded from the tutorial page. The program is designed for BALENC3R and Gyro Boy, but it will also work with similar robots.
