Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Bodi replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Good looking ship! With 40 guns, she's a 5 rate frigate, which means class 6 frigate? But armament is not the only criteria when defining a ship's classification, I think this is why Bregir asked about the number of midsections. I like her overall shape and the sails with Corrington flag on them, and the crow's nests are brilliant too. Neverthless, a more curved hull would look better IMHO. -
Nice looking house, your guy should be proud to own such a beautiful property. The tudor wall looks beautiful.

Superb brig, Bregir. Nice tumblehome, I like your masts and rigging. But I'm not sure what's the dark thingy on the bow?

Hilarious, superb eagle, super beagle. -
I see you have built an entire fleet of fast rocket boats to guard Fatu Hiva, impressive. I really like these rocket mountings, the boats look good too, and nice minifigs posing.

[COR/OL FB] Commissioning HMS Resolute
Bodi replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great writing Ayrlego. Your office build is really great and I've had a fun time duplicating it, and most importantly, it's fine example of land property that I plan to use as a reference for my future land builds, though I'm not very sure how you've made the roof. Hum, maybe not as many as Ayrlego has but I can still broke some right now. Glad you like it, Garm. In fact the rigging still need some improvement, I'm afraid I've choiced the wrong thread, those yellow threads I mean, I got them from a modelship seller and it's supposed to be specially designed for model ships but they were too rigid, it was practically impossible to tight them correctly. @Professor Thaum Thank you for your comments, Professor, they mean a lot to me. Well, they are just stud shooters with a monocular, nothing fancy. Thank you BD, glad you like the collab! -
Nice job Spacejoey. It's reconforting to see Oleon is making the most profit, we surely need a lot of dbs to support our large fleet.

Funny story. An olive green canoe, really cool. The archway ruin is great and the orchid is very well built as well, and I like how you've portrayed the thoughts of Uncle's children.
-
Nice job Mesabi, these graphics allowed me to have a general idea about our financial status, and I'm somewhat alarmed to learn that Oleon isn't in leading position in this quest for doubloons.

Clever! You did really well, I was surprised to find that the pyramid is only one-sided, good job!

And they've missed Montoya, how disappointing. Great jungle scene, I like all these trees. -
Nice build! I like the crane and the hut perched on the rock.

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Bodi replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Hi Blackbird! Nice brig, it looks good, I like the black and red colour scheme. 40 guns, it's a heavily armed vessel, comparable to a heavy frigate. The iron plating is a good way to improve protection, I'm no expert but it appears that when we speak of sailships' armour, it mainly means hull strength, so I think a better "armoured" ship in the time frame of Bobs is a vessel with thicker wooden hull. Just a suggestion. -

Very neat sloops. Their curved hulls are very well built, I like your guns and their carriage. The rigging looks nice too. -

Bodi replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Hum, it should be deformed on the photo, because there's a curve and it may look odd under certain angle, in fact the hull goes up 1 plate every 4 studs, from the centre towards the stern. Something bigger. Good point. Looking good! I like how you've angled the stern. -
[COR - Era II - Callenge 1 - Cat. A] The Garnet Inn
Bodi replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I like this inn, I don't know why but its windows, with these slopes and arches, remind me of those of the last bounty (brick bounty?) and it's good to see naval design combining with land architecture. And nice pics! -
Nice selection of minifigs, there are some interesting torsos, I especially like the smuggler with a parrot on his shoulder, though I'm also a bit concerned by the story of King Philip's bear, it was supposed to be a secret, is there a spy among us?
