[OL-Royal Arsenal of Astrapi] The entrance of the harbour
Bodi replied to Keymonus's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A very well built fort, with lots of defensive devices, I like the Congreve rocket launching scene and the depiction of cartouche preparation. The chain is a great idea and that puppet with a red cape is hilarious.- 15 replies

The infamous pirate Gregory Decker was pursued by Oleon vessels for several days consecutive. The pirate captain, with most of his ships sank or captured, had no other thought than get away from his pursuer at any cost, even if he had to abandon his flagship and his crew to the imperials. Here we can see our Captain Decker using a rowboat to transfer his treasure chests on board of a pirate schooner. Alas, the crew of the schooner had to lower the sails to get the captain and his treasure on board, this offered an excellent opportunity to an Oleon two-decker to shorthen the distance between them. -Hoist the sails, me hearties, we must not let those amateurs catch us! said Gregory Decker. On board of the Oleon warship: - "We can't catch them, captain, they are too fast!" said a midshipman. - "Man the guns!" replied the Oleon captain. - "But they are out of chasers' range now." - "Not the chasers, I want a full broadside!, man the guns and right full rider! " from the quarterdeck, the old captain with grey beard has quickly evaluated the situation and ordered a bold move. When the smock was dispersed, the pirate schooner has lost all its masts. A rowboat full of fusiliers marins was lowered to board the immobilized schooner. C&C are welcome, the schooner will be licensed as a class 3 boat.

[OL-Royal Arsenal of Astrapi] Emptying the sea with a bucket
Bodi replied to Keymonus's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice build! I like the rocky ridge, the retaining wall and the crane, so does the scene depicting the ceremony at the completion of the works. -
[OL - A-MCRA] Travels to Terraversa

Thanks Bregir, great writing! -
@Maxim I I'd like to share my personal opinion on this issue, I can follow your reasoning here, KB has been absent for quite a while, it's normal that you see him as an inactive member. And as to how to determine a member is either active or nor, I don't think we have a rule that stipulates clearly the timelimit, and considering all the situations we may encounter in real life, I think it may be rude to require a member to report to the forum on weekly, monthly or yearly basis. To be honest, I don't know where is KB now, but he never said that he won't come back, so handling the MRCA formalities in his absence, I think it's the least we could do, just consider it as a gesture of courtesy.

[OL-Royal Arsenal of Astrapi] The beginning of the works

Excellent build Keymonus. This is a convincing portrayal of the harbour works, I like the barrier and the pile driver mounted on boat.- 5 replies

Of course, they will be glad to wear a wig, on the other hand, it can be a bit hard to persuade the kid to stay at home, but I'm sure a visit to King's Harbour patisserie should solve the problem.

[OL-Royal Arsenal of Astrapi] Military Academy
Bodi replied to Bodi's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you CG for your comments on the building, it's my biggest land based build so far and it's also the first time I build a carriage, I'll try to do better next time. And you'll surely see that Duchesse again. Thank you! The sulky was of light construction because it was pulled by a single horse, didn't want to overload the poor beast too much. Glad you like my build. As for the soldiers, I agree with you, they should have leave their packs in the dormitory. Thank you Keymonus! I guess the outcome of inspection depends largely on the refreshment provided by the headmaster. -
Great build! Haven't spotted Lagaufre's family yet.

They even sell rum ice cream. I don't know if there's a blockade at Astrapi, we only have port taxes if this is what you meant, and beware of the red black white, whatever cloaks when you get here. Thank you mate! Glad you like my build. Glad you like them. Actually the idea of a candy shop comes from that sign.

The recent construction of Royal Arsenal of Astrapi has attracted more people from the old world to move to New Terra. The new-comers are full of spirit, for example, this young couple has opened a candy shop in the vicinity of the Arsenal, their patisserie is a great recomfort to the young cadets and soldiers who are thousands of miles away from their homeland. C&C are welcome!

Neat build! I like all the living facilities you provided to the troops, our poor sailors should be very envious, considering they only have hammocks, at best. I also like the flag pole, but I don't know why, but its color reminds of Corries' flag.

[OL-Royal Arsenal of Astrapi] Hospital of Asclepius at Astrapi
Bodi replied to merc's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Looking good! I like courtyard covered with round bricks, the main building is well built throughout, especially the symbol thingy. And the palm tree is a nice addition. -
Nice minifigs posing! The blue ones I mean. The gun range looks great too.

[OL-Royal Arsenal of Astrapi] Eastern Gatehouse

Nice gate house! The guard house is a nice touch, and I've spotted a greenie on the right corner. -
Interesting story, can't wait to read more. The green and white wall paper is quite original, I like all these furnitures and the miniature Black Pearl.

Le corps des ingénieurs de l'armement, with the help of the locals, built the Gun Carriage Workshop of Astrapi, which was a part of the Royal Arsenal at Astrapi. It was supposed to be used for gun carriage manufacturing and repair. All these works were assured by artisans, the workshop was equipped with a minimum of machinery (a hand operated crane). Therefore, the capacity of production depended largely on artisans' availability and how skilled they were. An engineer is giving instructions on how to mount a long gun on its carriage. Two artisans are working on a nearly finished field gun carriage. Inside the workshop. A dude is repairing a mortar with a hammer, it seems that the safety code haven't been invented yet. C&C are welcome!

The son of trot sounds in the deserted streets of suburb of Astrapi. A carriage stopped at the gates of the newly built Military Academy. - "Ah, here she is!" The headmaster of the academy, proud as he is, could not help shuddering at the sight of this cart carrying the Courteville's coat of arms. A valet hastened to run to the gates and helped the lady to get off the carriage. Madame de Courteville crossed the court, flanked by ranks of cadets and naval officers. - "Madame la Duchesse, I hope the trip was pleasant. Would you care to partake of some refreshment?" Asked politely the headmaster. - "Oh, monsieur de Torchon, you are too kind, but I think we put aside the courtoisie for a moment, you know our majesty has orderred personnaly the construction of this arsenal. Ah, I forgot, this academy thingy, you know it's the first military school in the new world, and I hope you will not fail us." A big drop of sweat slid down the cheek of de Torchon, he knew quite well the reputation of this Madame de Courteville, and she shall not make his life easy unless she got a satisfactory response. He began to search his pockets for that piece of paper but came out with empty hands, par Poseidon, he must left it in his old clothes. He had to improvise. - "Hum, well...madame...de Courteville...you see..."Stammered de Torchon. - "Monsieur, I hope you won't make me listen your harangue in the tropical heat?" Said la Duchesse with a grin. - "Mille pardon, madame, you are absolutely right, could you do me the honor to follow me to my office, a detailed report is waiting for you." The poor headmaster was quite relieved when he heard the protest. - "Volontier." The Duchesse was ready to go enter building, when she raised her eyes and her gaze focused on these lime-green plates. - "Quite an exquisite taste, where did you find these green plates?" She asked ironically while frowning her eyebrows. - "They are made of quartzites that exist in abundance in this region, a quite unique color, isn't it? But to be honest, Astrapi is a small settlement, we were low on budget and we had to do with what we already got." Replied de Torchon, seemingly quite proud of his work. - "Very well." Exclamed la Duchesse, then, in a whisper, she said to herself,"I shall see to have them replaced." Thanks for viewing. C&C are welcome!

[OL - Royal Arsenal of Astrapi] Cannonball foundry
Bodi replied to robinnilsson403's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice foundry! Dark red is a fitting colour for this kind of building and the fully tiled floor looks good. And it's comforting to see all these blue soldiers marching, they'll sure keep us safe. -
Absolutely impressive, this factory is huge! The golden domes on the roof are very eye-catching, the wheels are cleverly built and I like the floor tiled with round plates.

[SR-FB-LDD] Nautical School (plenty pictures)
Bodi replied to Bart's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Interesting story, I like the idea of nautical school, I wonder if we've already seen something similar in BoBS? If not, I'll be quite surprised, after all, a school like this is almost a must for the age of sail. The school looks great, so does the half-ship, and I thought Serena was a true mermaid. -
Who? Don't know that guy. An Oleon officer who fancies pink, it must be greenies propaganda. Hilarious story, and good idea to build a wal waymart. Sally is really strong and I'm glad Karren hasn't hurt herself when she fell off.
