Technic General Discussion
SNIPE replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Would be cool. The best I could do was using the teal parts and white body panels from the robot inventor set. Functions could be: steering, drive with rear differential, working V6 engine, and rear lift for the stretcher trolleyes/stretchers. And if I wanted to be ambitious: flashing lights/soundbrick. IDK how interesting that would be tthough for technic. -
Anyone who speaks russian know if they are frictionless or frictioned red half pins? Thanks,

Yes, this 2x2 fork is an easy way to get a 0.5L offset especially when axles are in integer sizes and the pole reverser handle has no pin hole. This fork could use more friction in the axle holes though- 5,504 replies

I built just the assembly in question and was able to get the axle out using a small knife but it did damage the axle slightly. I Don't even think I want to brave it by using 4 half bushes 😄

Wow, it would be even worse if you swapped the 2L pin joiner with the older variant which doesn't have the slot, or used two 1x1 beams instead.

This site will update your part knowledge. I can'r really help unless I have images of what it is you're building but there will most likley be a solution if not many,- 5,504 replies

I wonder if we can fit the friends technic hoop piece (77107) inbetween the inner and outer curved gear strips And then we can put a large turntable inside of the inner curved gear rack piece and then a differential inside of the turntable Then put an axle thru the differential but no need for bevel gears.- 5,504 replies

Tiny Axle for 42128 mod problem
SNIPE replied to SNIPE's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
this wont work because you have moved the turntables outwards and therefore 3 axles will not fit anymore in the back of the truck. -

The steering axle just moves off centre left or right since the pivot is at the turntables. -

how does it steer? -

I am sure yes. the diff is kind of held in by the small pins too. Yes the tires work fine on one rim, I have had this build for a while now. -
Tiny Axle for 42128 mod problem

yes, the cv joints are just clamped in by the surrounding parts. There are limits to lego yes but people are too quick to draw the line and either give up or cheat with non lego parts/gluing/etc. I know that the only part that I can think of to use for the bottom is the 5x3 thin liftarm. As I say, ive tested the tire idea and they move just fine, ive also tested steering and drive on its down but combining it all is hard. I've got close though. -
Hi, I've been hitting a brick wall for weeks now, on how to connect the steering, pendular turntables, and wheel hubs to one small housing. The problem is that the gear rack is both raised 0.5L and the turntables and gear rack are both also 0.5 offset to the diff, which is why I used 12 tooth half bevel gears that connect to the 28 tooth differential. I have just about every technic part IRL so that shouldn't be a problem. Here is the LDR file of the important parts in their correct positions, the hard part is trying to connect them. The tires overlapping is just mimicking two VW T2 tires on one rim, which works perfectly fine IRL. Any questions, leave a reply Regards, Snipe.

I'm for this idea but the problem is the bigger the moc is the more potential it has to do more transformations, so we should limit the scale of the car to something. -
Infact, and this is very high tarrif, adding the roof mechanism from jeroen ottens' PF tribute car would be awesome, because it will be a 488 pista spider, that roof mech is the best I've seen, we just have to recolor it into red and white. The two buwizz have 2 ports free too, which is how many the roof needs IIRC.
