  1. Hi, I tried this with 10/11/12L axles but the problem with this is it is weak in every factor I mentioned. It lets the gear strip quarters seperate, it lets the rings seperate from one another, and it flexes and twists :/ I built quite a good solution but it was very complex and was a finger buster to build. so since it was so complex, I built some sections back to front or upside down and as I say this may have been over engineered anyhow. I also tried clamping each ring quarter together using the bevel gear housing connector 3x3 in black thing but then connecting this to anything else was too weak. Maybe the large linear actuator mount brackets has better connectivity with beams. Regards, SNIPE
  2. Hi, What is the lightest and strongest way to brace curved gear strips, where 4 of them would make a ring. Any official LEGO part can be used, as I have almos every technic part type ever released and several system parts. But I would prefer it if the bracing does not extend past the diamiter of the ring This is to make a drum, so it is important that each ring can be mounted to another in some way, eg having the rings spaced out by 15L beams. This would need to be sturdy in the following ways: The rings do not collapse The gear strips dont get pulled apart. The entire barrel does not sag Each ring section does not pull apart from the next I have a few ideas and some of them I have built, I spaced the rings using 15L beams and it may have been not as light as some other peoples ideas. 3. You can swap the 2L clutch ring and extention ring with a 3L clutch ring right?
  4. I do :). Can I ask what the reasoning is behind the sideways paddle shfiter?
  5. At least you can put it in axle holes or barholes (eg in technic pins) and unlike the lipstick pieces these are straight. I would use them to connect the 42056 wheels to the technic disc brake wheel hubs but they won't make much difference, and it means using an ugly LBG pin 1L with stud in the disc brake and the wheels pinholes. The only other way is either a 2L rigid hose and two pin 1L with stud. but this hose has no center stop so it can be pushed into the outer hub through the holes on the disc brake and jam the wheel. (bad) Or using a 3L friction pin, in black preferably. But this only works if you put the pin so its stop ring is at the wheel, not the disc brake. But this means you have a 1L gap between the disc and wheel now. And yes the above methods are flush with the wheels pinholes, not having a bar, pin or axle sticking out.
  6. New technic ring spotted in set 41686 it has 4 pinholes, 2 axle holes, an outer diameter of what looks to be 11L and thereore an inner diamiter of 9L. I can think of so many uses for this such as turntables, pipes, barrels, tunnels, and maybe a mini bucket wheel excavator. 360 rotation: EDIT: oops I didn't see that two people posted it in the Technic general 2021 set disgussion thread but oh well.
  7. Nope, they fit on anything that is exactually 4Lx4L which includes 1 or 2 technic rims. (I'll add part ID's soon) I tested it real life with 4x4 system parts a while back.
  8. I may be late to the party but lego made a 1x5 plate in the vidyo boombox set, it is in white and has 5 studs unlike the 1x5 round plate with center axle hole. I cant post videos yet because it would be a leaked image (I think)
  9. Can we please pretty please have the 4 duplo tires because they are a unique size and can fit onto some technic rims and some system rims/custom built system rims I own two of the types, shown in the first and 6th image below: I also showed how some other rims can technically fit on tires not designed for them in this thread: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/101081-general-part-discussion/ Regards, Snipe
  10. I wonder when TLG is gonna post more official leaks or at least give someone like @Sariel it for early review. It comes out in june right? so just over a month to go
  11. I'm honestly not sure why this set and 42096 doesnt have those disc brakes.
  12. Well that youtuber is probably some kid making his lil' stories up and posting them on youtube in a click baity way as if they are facts just to get views. Why are we even talking about that youtuber just report the video already 🙄 I'm not happy at all that this set is no longer a 6x6 (though theres a chance it could still be). This set is supposed to be in the same ball park as 42114. the cat is in the same ball park as 42115 or 42100 and the american tow truck is supposed to be in the same ball park as the cement mixer. The only reason they would have made it 4x4 is to lower the price by having two less new tyres, two lees planetary hubs, one less "new" differential, 4 less "new" male cv joints, 2 less "new" female cv joints, and then a few basic parts removed.
  13. tried this a while ago plus other combinations, all are fine Tried this a while ago plus other combinations, all are fine
  14. I just read through the 8448 manual and theres nothing there regarding what you said, is there another source? I'm not sure if this is a mod or if its official
  15. 8448 only had the option to add one small 9v motor not two.
  16. I might quickly do it as an ldcad model (might). Should not be hard at all considering I might add a 6 speed + r + n gearbox and flappy paddles to the 42125 ferrari and even thats not as complicated as my supercar MOC WIP which is based on a heavily modified 42115 chassis.
  17. This looks like either a painted lego part or a 3d printed part, OR a third party lego brand part such as CADA. The easiest way to resize an image is to use bricksafe.com, when you upload an image it will give you 3 sizes usually to choose from.
  18. Thank god someone has added a gearbox, flappy paddles and a DNR shifter. I was going to add @Anto's 6 speed+N+R gearbox and paddles (so no DNR shifter) like the real car but I might just leave it since there's this and I have a load of MOCs and one set to finish building and to MOD some of them.
