Yes, but I mean how the linkages are working exactually. -

nice, we get the (62531) 2x3x11 smooth curved panel in dark blue, now I just hope that the upcoming ford GT will have the #3 and #4 panels in dark blue for my dark blue 42056 mod. It's dark blue! YES! FINALLY A SHORT THREADED POLE. The best we could do before was the 32L threaded pole used in city fire/minecraft sets. Shame this 6L one is not able to slide through axle holes though :/- 5,466 replies

42147 Dump Truck
SNIPE replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
it sort of can be if you flip it, but then the wheel would have to go on the embedded pin so you cant use a wheel containing an axle hole there -

I think this set has a new connector that is like part 65489 but with only 2 pins instead of 4, it is used as a steering hub in the A model. -

Do I see a new connector used for the steering, 65489 but with only 2 pins instead of 4? in set 42147 -
Generic Contest Discussion
SNIPE replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Idea for a future contest: helicopter challenge Since we have new helicopter parts. I would prefer medium scale or larger because small helicopters wont even be able have many functions. It can be any form factor as long as it include at least one propellor and it must spin but does not have to be motorized. It could have any number of functions, preferably non weapon based. Think things like folding landing gear, pivoting front steering, landing gear shock absorbrs, LEDs, any sort of moving aerodynamic flaps, rear cargo/person bay, opening floor cargo/person bay on the bottom, working engines, cyclic adjustment, collective adjustment, working joysticks, working pedals, cabin doors, winches, sliding cargo/person side doors, sliding engine covers, fire hoses using pnumatuc parts from city/technic, etc etc. Any of the above may or may not be motorized. Thoughts? -

Custom LDD bricks and fixes
SNIPE replied to Equilibrium's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Hi, I would like to request the lego pen bead parts, as they is nothing like them in normal lego parts, so they could be useful in digital MOCS. I made one in ldraw but may have lost it, and the ldraw community are too busy making more important parts it seems. Here is a link so them: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=G&catString=464 I can provide more information on their geometry if needed, I do know that jangbricks has showed them in his stationary mocs and parts hauls, so they are definetley compatable with normal lego studs and clutches. The ones I would like to see most is BEAD001, BEAD002, BEAD003, BEAD004, BEAD005, BEAD006 and BEAD029 -

Yeah this is interesting, looks like a gold arocs (42143) rim with tyre. I guess we will have to wait for more images to find out. -
42099 Mods and Improvements
SNIPE replied to efferman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
how about using the 42143 ferrari daytona shocks? -
I think replacing the tan axle pins with 2L friction pins would be a start. The links I posted would be more for reference, even if they are not flimsy. By that I mean they would be used to make a new mod which is not flimsy and yet still keeps all of the funtions and all of the motors. Even if I only drive it around my living room floor, it's still cool to just see how much "stuff" a technic car can do, i.e what are the limitations of technic even with the current parts selection. This is just an idea that I've been looking at for many years, it doesn't even have to be on 42143 infact it doesnt even have to be based on an official set.

I was wondering if its possible to move the landing gears linkages doen a bit to make more room inside of the cargo bay, I noticed that there is a 1L gap on one side of the battery box where theres no cable (plugged in) for to put the liftarm that normally rests on top of the battery box. That would certainly be a start. Regards, Snipe

Check this puppy out! Someone finally did it (almost), It retains the engine, gearbox, DNR selector, paddle shifter unit, seats, HOG steering wheel, door mechanism, everything! but he crammed in a buggy motor, a servo motor for steering, and an LED kit. Only thing is he didnt connect the buggy motor to the engine or gearbox but i'm sure we can fix that :) (and without breaking gears). If he did it how I think he did it, then there should be no reason why we can't mirror it and have a second buggy motor. This would be awesome, just seeing this beast move is cool enough. Here are the instructions (not my work): rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-121834 Regards, snipe. EDIT: Here is another mod that is full RC other than the gear shifting, and still keeps the engine and gearbox, it has LEDs, rc drive, rc steering, and rc doors opening (independant). here is where to get it: aliexpress.us/item/3256804262874655.html

I am up to step 180 so far, here are my suggestions, some of which are bugs: • step 71 shows the axle not pushed all the way. • Step 136 is very confusing but I got it, other people might not however. • Step 163 there is no indication on how to assemble the joysticks, just an image. • Also you could raise the 2 DBG 6L links by replacing each assembly with this • Step 173 does not need the 2L axle joiner on the end of the 6L axle, the 6L axle should instead go thru the hole on the main assembly and connect to the black 3L axle joiner which moves the 9L links up and down. • In the inventory, 60483 is in yellow but that part does not exist in yellow. • In the inventory, on one page there are part numbers that have been cropped out (on the right) • The lower half of the rotor hub for the blades should be black, not LBG, the ball and upper half are LBG though indeed. Hope this helps, I like the simplified design of the assembly using two 9L links with the 2x3 panel extenders, I recon my idea of using part 6571 could still work, but , in place of the three 57515 suspension arms rather than using 6571 to replace the five 6L links that connect each blade to the specialized rotor hub piece. Regards, Snipe

Here's one trick, you can plug a 92910 into a 1936 and it has a load of friction. even more than the usual socket counterparts for part 92910. see here at 2:24 Hope this solves your problem.- 5,466 replies

Technic 2023 Set Discussion
SNIPE replied to Dami's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm with this idea, but it would require yet another type of electrical connector, and lego nowdays are using the control+ connectors for all product ranges. The current control+ cables and connectors would not fit in a gamepad and it would be a mess of cables. Also it would be expensive to produce and wouldnt fit into legos current line up (in marketing terms I mean). lego would have to basically make this idea its own lego theme which would be short lived. -
Duplo Technic Trains
SNIPE replied to Ctan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is exactually what I have been wanting to make for my lego city (to be), but it will be a modern style tram that runs on duplo track rather than a steam engine. The only hitch is, trams have a very low ground clearence so there will be some thought needed on how to motorize it in a way that also hides the electronics. I don't know if an RC train unit with technic axles and spacers behind the wheels is better, or a normal lego motor setup such as PF L motor or spike prime small angular motor. -
Cool display, I wonder how such a model would have a carry mechanism if it was more than one digit. Maybe just extend the tracks inbetween the 0 and F digits to that it engages the next column but only once every 16 steps because otherwise it would move the next digit every cycle which is 00 11 22 33 44... instead of 01 02 03 04...

[WIP] Studless 8480
SNIPE replied to msk6003's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
love the use of the light bricks, gear trains, space shuttle panels, and the spike prime small motor (I still need like 12 of these). Will the landing gear be motorized?
